I have the Cars 2 Apps CD phone mount for my iPad, It blocks the sound system but I use the steering wheel mount controls for volume. Connect the Hot Spot and Bluetooth and I happy.
Hey thanks. I recently upgraded to an S8+ and it looks a lot better. I haven't figured out a way to display the reverse camera on the tablet yet. For now I just pop it on the seat next to me or hand it to a passenger when I need the cam. Not ideal but it goes back on pretty easily
@@larchielad hey so I made the icons in cinema 4d then imported them to nova launcher. From there I use an app called "large icons widget to get them properly onto the screen. Actually much easier than it sounds!
Great rebiew thanks, but what a about the backup camera? and what cables and part are neede for connecting the tabler to the car's factory stereo and buil-in speakers?
Hey so for now I pop the tablet off the magnets to use the backup camera, really not as bad as it sounds. I have the metal bars underneath for support but they also work as a guide to put it back in place. The tablet connects to the truck via Bluetooth which is built into both the tablet and vehicle stereo
@@miketips4188 Nice. Is it possible to connect a backup camera to the tablet and have it displayed automatically when switching to reverse mode? Besides, since your phone is connected to the tablet via Bluetooth, and the tablet is connected to the car's factory stereo with a wire (and thus I guess you are able to use the car's built in speakers and sound for calls/music/movies etc..), do you get notifications when you get calls and texts? Do you have a microphone in order to take hands free calls while driving? And lastly, how do you manage with the temperature of inside the car? How can your tablet survive the hot and cold weather?
I have not figured out the backup camera yet. The car and tablet are connected via Bluetooth, no wires. The phone provides internet to the tablet via hotspot, no wires. This tablet does support calls texts and hands free calling if you enable it through your phone. I have it disabled. The tablet has a built in ability to handle hot and cold weather, but if it's too bad I simply take it out
Good invention mixing those parts to make a tablet holder. Will for sure try this method! but gona try making one were you cant see the brackets. Still, good job looks good and very durable.
Thank you! It's worked out great so for! My solution in the future is to leave the setup and buy a bigger tablet to cover everything. Currently have the S6 lite (10.4 inches) the s8 plus should cover everything nicely at 12.4 inches
@Mike Tips by any chance, do you remember the name? I want to get the right one. I did something similar in my silverado last year, but I like your setup much better
I believe I was just an "aluminum flat bar", I started with 1/16 inch but it flexed too much so I went with 1/8 inch. It was a little tougher to bend but much sturdier

HI , what launcher you are using ? I like you home screen !
Asking again Mike , what launcher are you using ?
Hey sorry for the delay. I'm using nova launcher. The icons I made myself in cinema 4d and used KWGT(kustom widget) to get them on the tablet.
@@miketips4188 thanks 😊 🙏
@@miketips4188 that's pretty smart never thought of using Nova launcher like that
Loved the Icons. Look awesome on the dash. I doubt, when I put my tablet on top of the stock head unit, how do you manage the reverse cam?

@@miketips4188 thanks, it does make sense. Just that I sometimes forget to take my tab off while reversing
Haha yeah I do the same thing
How u get the icons?

What hardware store did you get those black metal bars from? Did you bend the bottom yourself, or did they come like that?
Hey I got them from home Depot, I bent and painted them, they came straight

I also picked flat bars with pre punched holes to save a step when mounting the magnets
