+Lucius Cornelius Sulla : I first thought it was ''Alphaville'' by Jean-Luc Godard, but the main character is not the same as in the film. Maybe the author of the video took a part of sequences from the film... In any case, if you like these images you'll like Alphaville too.
All electronic music from the 1960s to the 1990s comes under the umbrella term: 'Music Concrete'. It was the beginning of improvisation with samplers and electronic keyboards. All those labels psycho pop babblers give to music 'sounds' has nothing to do with the origins of the genre. There is no such thing as 'Cold Wave, New Wave Retro Rock, Experimental, Minimalism, Dark wave' etc, Those terms do not define nor mean anything. When you have studied music you will know what I mean. This is music concrete.
Oh please, don't be pretentious. Music Concrete is a very broad term, and subgenres like cold wave and the other ones mentioned help us break up and categorize artists into ones we do and don't like and make it easier to recommend and find similar artists. The Ramones and Negative Approach are both punk but that doesn't mean they are not in different subgenres.
From a musical standpoint yes you are right, there is little in the way of what makes these genres different (As all sub/micro genres, or genres that get re-booted). Though you are forgetting to include that genre labeling is not just the music. When you explain the differences between say Cold-wave, and New-wave there are differences in cultural, generational, aesthetic, and ideological motivations rooted in each. Also our species is enamored with labeling things so there's that too...
@Johnny Trash A simple google search can really throw your conclusion out of the window, i dont even know how you came to such a conclusion considering you claim to have studied music i mean everything i've ever heard about the term Musique Concrète (which is what i'm assuming you're referencing) does not in fact describe anything to do with synthesizers, samplers maybe but even then you're painting with a very heavy, flattering and ultimately pretentious brush as a synthesizer and a sampler dont signify a genre. I'm saying this in the nicest way possible mate, its great you have an opinion and want to tell people it but for god's sake do some research before you try to claim that all electronic music is exactly the same as an experimental art method next you'll be telling me sonic youth are a modern classical band because of their tenuous connections to john cage
For those wondering: The cassette tapes in the envelope are "The Man Machine" and "Trans Europe Express", both by German band Kraftwerk.

+Lucius Cornelius Sulla there are a lot of images of Anna Karina so now I'm like 99% sure that the film is Alphaville ;-)

Maybe it is music concrete but i think it is more music brute as in brutalism :Y or maybe music cemente :)
