13-15 years ago, I smoked so much green listening to these amazing albums
Perfect album for travelling. Car, train, bike, take your pick and enjoy how it melts with the scenery - english countryside, polish fields, croatian seaside... Sound of hot asphalt or gravel in the summer.
Oh man yeah, greetings from Polish wastelands
@@postpunk6947 I was living in Poland at the time of writing my comment. :D Cool, man
I'm so happy I stumbled on Yawning Man "Rock Formations" in 2006. I've been a fan since and have such great memories from my youth including these songs. God bless Mario Lalli, Gary Arce and Alfredo Hernandez
first day i hear Yawning Man and it feels like the start of a long relationship. Sounds from the desert, covering that vastness and dimensions, breaking through to some place unique to a traveler and returning to tell the story.
Damn I had never heard of these guys nor this album at all, really random UA-cam click. This turned out to be some of the purest desert rock I have ever laid ears on. This deserves a pedigree.
P.S. two days later: so I looked these guys up and evidently they are pretty pedigreed, practically the progenitors of desert rock.
DUDE, this is Mario Lalli and Gary Arce......they invented desert rock in the early 1980's. no shit.
@@PatrickCSheehy and to.think Kyuss always gets the credit. Smh i mean, i LIKE Kyuss and all but this is real Desert rock imo.
@@cammo777 Yes. I love Kyuss too, but i like to think of them as a stoner rock band. I would say that, Kyuss were the ones who first brought it to the mainstream with some chill tracks.
InstaBlaster
Looove this album. Perpetual Oyster is such a gorgeous song.
I just listen to YM when there is a sun and blue sky mostly around noon time to feel direct sun energy, not on rainy days and never at night :) this is how I got connected to this amazing band , pure music pure soul , before them I listened to tuber as an instrumental stoner band but vista point just shined like sun , I wish I knew them earlier years so I could have probably better direction in my life , and also I like to interview the band once ,I have so many questions :)) cheers to right music 🍻☀️
It's like surf rock on a desert.
Exactly!
Paradoxical but true
Brings back memories.
first song make me feel soo good
+Gabriel Manrique the last 2 minutes of the song are amazing...

Such good stuff. I have the opportunity of a sunset up in dem mountains while I listen. I'll turn it up so that the mountain can hear it too.
I HAVE BEEN FOLLOWING THEM NOW FOR YEARS..BUT WAS NEVER FORTUNATE ENOUGH TO SEE THEM PLAY LIVE..UP UNTIL THIS FRIDAY..WHEN THEY PLay in LONDON :) ITS GOING TO BE EPIC!!!! :D
So, how was it? :)
I managed to see them 3 years ago in Italy, this time around I had to pass, bloody shame folks...
XX XX He can't respond. He died at the concert from acute eargasm.
Duuuude, how was it?
I saw them live two days ago. Unfortunately they didn't play anything from this record (or Rock Formations), but they did play Black Kite, which blew me away.
to my friends of Yawning Man Great Job, such an inspiration for myself as a vocalist/lyricist/short story writer. Thank you again for helping my head, helping me with my universe... George T. Murillo~Carnage Asada, lead vocals.
George Murillo Hey leave a link to your work man
Chill as fuck,man.
It's nice to traveling my bike into my destination,
non ci posso credere , semplicemente favolosi !!!!!
I love that anybody that knows about this scene is a die hard fan and knows that Yawning Man are legendary. This music is for true listeners.
thats not a pretentious thing to say at all lol
(Eye roll)
Whoever actually did enough research on good music to find this band, congratulations, it will be a very rewarding experience. Yawning Man is not your typical stoner rock band musically, or lyrically. They don't sing exclusively about muscle cars, getting high, and getting laid either, which is quite refreshing. I don't have anything against sex and drugs, but the lyrics are the main draw back to most stoner bands to me, but nit the case here. Now, to the 5 people whom disliked this album, well I think that you need to go find a nice Matchbox 20 video to watch or something, that might be a little too wild for you though, knowing you...
yes how can someone dislike stuff like that.
don't diss MB20 they've got loads of great songs, they're brilliant songwriters and musicians
what the fuck are you talking about, it's an instrumental band, so yeah, they don't sing about hot rods and babes cause they don't sing. At least this album is, not sure about others, just the one I'm commenting on.
Dude those stoner rock stereotypes are so 90's and 00's. Its almost 2020, stoner rock has evolved farrrrr past the sex drugs and muscles cars. Although I will say the album art hasn't evolved much, still a ton of titties not that I'm complaining!
You listen to lyrics in stoner rock?
Why??
I mean...the vocals are like an instrument in themselves...but they're usually shit on purpose.
It kind of reminds me of surf rock.
If anyone has ever been to vista point.... its one of the most epic views of the desert between Julian and lake C. so badass they named their album after that!!
hahaha, yes. have your been to vista point?
this is definitely music from the soul for the soul.
Melancholy on 11. I love this band!!
Thank you!
So good. Love the use of the trem.
Very Beatiful!
Adore this album!
worth it till the very end
god how I wish they would release a good version of Catamaran...
+ihatecountry777 Kyuss did.
+LemmyIsNotDead still not the original, though
+LemmyIsNotDead Yeah I love Kyuss' version but the original would be nice.

First song I've heard from them.
Great vibe like the Friends of Dean Martinez out of the Southern Arizona Desert, down by Tucson way.

Puro sonido del desierto.
I fear I´m getting near the vista point... Peace ;-)
Let´s create a list of songs, please. Well, 5:22 is Perpetual Oyster, 10:44 Stoney Lonesome,...
+Tadeáš Spitzer done! :p
their.
Great Music for sure and sadly the album seems not to be available (tried on amazon and iTunes). Still, I am a bit shocked you post the full album on youtube. Did you ask the band or the label?
I have a physical copy and given this wasn't on the tube I decided to share it with the world!
does anybody know where the place on the cover exactly is?
guess it must be in california, death valley at sunset?
Likely, thats where the whole desert scene came from.
Can anybody tell me if is this heaven?
Only you can answer that
I honestly prefer the Kyuss version : )
It's like slow surf music... definitely this is the first stoner rock band.-
+cronopioArgento Definitely not. They are a big part of the desert scene, and probably the biggest inspiration for that though.
I know that, pal. It only made me remember surf music a bit.-
Oh, sorry. Didn't quite understand your first comment, I'm a bit tired. Sorry again, and have a nice day.
+cronopioArgento awesome logo you got there
It's the Sicilian flag.-
Caresses your eardrums.
how the fuck is there one dislike?
to be honest, they make themselves look far worse than we ever could!
SANDWAVES
e alloraaaaaaa!!!!!!!
Reminds me kinda of the Sadie's without the vocals
Whoever likes the introspective dream-like atmosphere of this but also enjoys uplifting energy, you might like my song "A Glass of Tears Half Empty." Check it out if you have time.
wasted minutes of my life for that crap.
Misanthropy Shall Prevail You're a good man!
Aura Blaze Trying to stand on the shoulders giants. It's ok but the Brass was too much for me, Promote the Hammond and throttle back the overall Treble levels. I will check out more of your stuff when I have the chance
Tommy Wilkinson Some good advice man, thank you!
+Aura Blaze Your style right now just a bit of everything, from the Beatles to YM, but where is YOUR sound? I fail to hear anything that might attract my curiosity.
10000..000 / 10

Way too mellow unless you`re totally ripped in the middle of the nicht.....can`t sink my fangs in to this....it`s as boring to me as jazz and jazz , to me, is fucking shit.
