The dark truth: the green influencer arc represents how young creators get hooked onto youtube, often distancing themselves from friends and family for digital people they have never met in real life. UA-cam is an addiction that can be equal to some drugs (opinion btw) and can cause people to feel depressed when their channel is falling off mostly because they are new to the platform and dont understand that the algorithm isn't always in their favor. This happened to me when I tried youtube out. Since it was geometry dash content, i would spend hours recording videos for youtube, dreaming to have lots of subscribers. Then when those videos never got attention, i threw a fit of rage and made sure that no one knew. But my mom steped in and told me all this was wrong. I have so many questions on for how long have you've been watching this series for but yeah, I get yah tbh. I may be small time creator but understand. The attention you get is truly... Truly... Idrk what to call it, but it does have a word. Hope you're doing well Y3llow. Respect to you and your vids. Stay strong, stay determined.
And so the addiction begins...The 3D animation in the Minecraft world is really well done. I thought that the picnic prank had fake lava... But it didn't. That's messed up. Poor Blue probably got flashbacks from that. Also, has Green never seen The Incredibles? Because I'm pretty sure the "no capes" comment was a reference to that movie lol
Yeah, and notice how Blue also put his foot in a water bucket to cool it down, from the exact same spot he got burnt. He probably has an invisible scar or something that gets irritated or something when it’s in contact with lava ☹️
it seems like the word "no" is getting into Green, the slight of worrisome that gets the better over him maybe Green hasn't watched the masterpiece that was the Incredibles
It’s amazing to realise that Alan Becker had to sort of build and improve his channel from scrap in order for him to get Green famous and popularised. Small series after series keeps the fandom alive and that’s what I love about the community!
Whole bit aside, holy MOLY you guys work fast. All of the Greenzilla4 videos and now this just 3 weeks in is incredible. Can't wait to see what happens to Green this time around
The crucial problem is that Green's channel became too popular too fast. His fame is the consequence of Alan's channel, not something he grew on his own from the start, so a part of him try to overcompensate, and thus overachieve, not matter the consequences for his friends. In his desire to shine, he gradually removed his friends from every part of the filming to focus the attention on him, blocked every paths they could make their opinions heard, and finally harmed them to have more views. And to top it off, because they don't follow his ideas like puppets, he chose to be disappointed in them rather than his attitude, and prefered to console himself with the gratification of the comments, which is never good. Depending on virtual people to feel joy in your life instead of the friends who are beside you isn't a hobby anymore, it's an addiction and the onset of depressive reality escapism.
I mean, also stuff like the silverfish concert thing might have caused resentment. Green probably doesn’t like being the stick who gets made fun of, and now has something special. But it’s more a commentary on fame than anything.
Thanks for highlighting the condition at the end, i knew it somewhere in my mind but couldn’t remember. I agree completely about him being so engaging with the comments, and that’s also one thing that makes more people comment. You don’t see big UA-camrs hearting and replying to 50-70 comments per video, it’s just not healthy.
I think this series shows how great alan's team is and how good their time management is. I mean seriously, this animation series is so good because: - more videos. Even if its tiktok dancing, it still spark a lot of entertainment. - many information of green like how he talk, how he interact, etc - simply a great fan service because green actually interacts with his fans - know more about the reality of social media addiction and the interesting dilemma between green and his friends. Alan is an absolute genius with his writing skills. Top tier fan-service, great time management skills, i dont know what more should i ask!
The fact that in the end green just isolates himself inside his house not caring about his friends or just not being brave enough to actually walk out and talk to them is very sad, the way Alan portrayed the way youtube can take advantage of you is amazing.
5:51 I would like to say (as a young UA-camr myself) just because one person said that you shouldn't do something, doesn't mean you have to stop doing it,especially if your friends are involved in making it.
Yes, you don't listen to just one disliker to switch up the entire video. I'm a youtuber too and I don't listen to a person saying to switch up the video like talking and stuff
With how far in advance this all had to be planned out it’s a really amazing story they managed to pull off- Green first gets bullied and put down across several shorts and videos (the silverfish one being the cumulation of it all) making him rightfully feel under appreciated Then he finally gets well deserved recognition but not from his friends but rather from online comments… leading him to the toxic spiral of chasing that high of being appreciated- hence the toxic behavior towards his friends since he’s trying to follow all the big trends and in the process is sabotaging his relationships- which only happened because he probably felt under appreciated to began with. Great job Alan and Co, y’all have made a great story!
In a lot of cases, Green's pride was ultimately the cause of him feeling "underappreciated". The whole silverfish debacle was partially caused by him kicking the silverfish off the stage while it was leaving, leading to it to spite him, and then when offered an opportunity to play music with his friends and salvage the situation, he rejects it angrily and instead chooses to get into a Rush E fight. Green feels he has something to prove, far more than the others, and it's his inability to see that that causes these issues.
Someone said these are signs of depressive onset escapism, and they are probably right. It seems green keeps trying to foster an environment that won’t help him feel any better, instead of hashing things out with his real friends. Just the sheer amount of hearts and replies he leaves (a lot) shows just how much time he’s pouring into ensuring his channel goes well and also his desire for validity. I think it’s also interesting how most people commenting on his videos already knew it looked like green was losing himself, and a lot of them are very supportive to try and help him stay in check. Of course though, they won’t be considered by green for story’s sake, unless we see that happening at the end.
Just noticed something. Because the stick figures are 2D characters, we can't tell which direction they're facing unless they move in a way that shows it. In the vlog video posted on Green's channel before this video came out, the other four looked like they were lining the photograph looking at Green's camera, but we see they were facing towards the cliff ignoring him. However, we can tell which direction Green is always facing because of his sunglasses, which is a neat way to show how he sees everyone else and how the rest of the gang now sees him.
What sucks about the lava "prank", is that blue may or may not be traumatised from episode 20 "the piglin war" after he fell into the lava trying to save the baby piglin, And almost died if it weren't for the other piglins noticing and saving blue's life.
Greens influencer arc is gonna take a bad turn he's already turning into one of them First, he's just innocently making simple vids Then, when he realizes everyone loves him, his vidoes get a bit more "different" to bump up the views Now, he's putting himslef and his friends in harms way just for views and in his last video, he litteraly has a sponser, which means he's now trying to get MONEY! I fear that Green is gonna learn the hardknocks of an influencer
The reason so many famous stars are ruining their careers likely is because they want the fame to end so they can go home and not have people at their door.
Let's gather a bunch of people and start telling green to do a blooper compilation If we get enough people then we won't need to spam to have 100 comments saying the same thing
You all remember what King Orange and Purple did to Green? This is their redemption arc. Instead of the color gangs + TSC, I hope Purple (and King Orange) will _be the one_ who bring Green back.
I agree. If anyone can understand what Green's going through, it'd be Purple. Not to mention their history together, Purple seems to be closest to Green out of anyone else in the main five, and the fact that Purple can provide an objective viewpoint, I too hope that Purple shows up... But I'm cautiously reserved.
Watching this entire thing happening in real time feels so surreal now that we get a behind the scenes look at what happened during and between recordings
It's a video that I can relate to a lot as a UA-camr. And one of the amazing things is that Alan Becker actually created Green's UA-cam channel and uploaded the video, so he wrote the audience's reactions as material for his UA-cam content!
i remember someone said "so you are telling me that no other stick figure was on this couch during the 24 hours?" and here we see green cutting out the part where yellow and sC sitting on the couch
I really like how this episode is a commentary about the inherent risk of trying to become a content creator and what can happen when you do, and how social media and attention can put us in a constant feedback loop where you prioritize your possible livelihood against anyone else. Another point is appeasing the loud, changing stuff just so more people will like it even if it goes against very critical parts of a creative work and how taking every opinion from your fans can do you more harm than good.
Well, something that is really impressive is Alan's capability to make everything match, like an inmense jigsaw puzzle, where you place several pieces but always one remains. He makes it so that there's no questions left. But as for if the Dark Lord survived, we're just gonna have to wait.
why is no one talking about how complex the storyline is?? the amount of work put into this is incredible. the fact that green has a REAL official UA-cam channel and the fact that green can interact with YOUR comments and can change part of the storyline is crazy
Not really an ARG, ARGs involve puzzles and such, its ARG adjacent content though id say and its genuinely really awesome Most I can compare it to mspfa stories where u can submit things for the characters to do thru social media like choose ur own adventure games but thats still pretty far from the concept here
The journey of the green stick figure is such a powerful metaphor for the challenges young creators face on platforms like UA-cam. It’s eye-opening to see how the desire for success can lead to isolation from real-life connections. The darker side of the influencer lifestyle really resonates-especially how the highs of views can quickly turn to lows when the algorithm doesn’t play in your favor. This arc highlights the importance of balance and mental health for anyone venturing into content creation.
what I love about this arc is how deep it really is Like for some people creating content can be the toxic friend who manipulates you into betraying your closest friends and family, just so they don’t leave you. UA-cam can be an addiction, you want that feeling of validation from random strangers online. Maybe because you don’t get any, or you just want people to like you. In Green’s example, for the past few shorts and videos, he’s basically been a punching bag that doesn’t get a lot of respect from his friends. So when he gets people who do appreciate him and his content, he becomes obsessed with trying to appease his audience. From removing scenes in his videos his friends worked hard for and genuinely enjoyed, to straight up EATING GRASS, he would do anything to get that feeling of validation from his fans.
I like how from they show both POV from each channel, green slowly becoming more addicted to getting on the trends for views and such, while the others are getting tired of doing everything that green is telling them to do, and the shots of green isolated in the room by himself are the cherry on cake, this is storytelling right here.
What I really love about this is how Alan is showing all the perspectives to social media and making content. You can see Green's videos and posts live and then Alan shows us the behind the scenes including the stress of trying to stay popular. Also really great to see the Minecraft world from their perspective, look forward to the next video thanks Alan!
Alan totally nailed it this time. He's clearly been reading our feedback and used it to put Green in a bind. Watching everyone react and seeing how he'll spin it in the next episode is gonna be awesome.
I get some strong DDLC vibes with Monika for some reason, mainly because they both like the color green or are associated with it and because they both share the same problem of "perfection" Also, Green distanced himself away from his friends, just like Monika
I truly love both Green's channel and these videos because they awnser my main questions in my head, which is "To them, do they live in a 2D plane or a 3D world? Obviously 3D, how else could they do what they do, but how does it look to them?". And now I know.
I actually like the concept of their home (Alan's computer) being 3D for them and also Minecraft but for us in the series, their Minecraft and the computer looks 2D for us almost every time
Alan manages to make me empathize with stick figures every time. You are amazing. From now on I will watch the Greenzilla videos from another perspective xD
I wanna say something a bit more personal. Alan, I’m glad you have a team of animators now. I’m glad you have a team of people helping you. Content creation is a hungry beast. It gets big, and it’s hard to handle alone. Breaking up animation layers, effects, social media team, merch work… many hands make the work lighter. And you all have families and friends. I know what it’s like to have the weight of the world, people waiting for your next creation. Suddenly you’re some masterful artist in everyone’s eyes and they’re dying to get more. But you… just wanna create… what you are passionate about. And it feels… different. And yet, you have surrounded yourself with people and built a team. Idk what your personal life is like, and it’s none of my business. But I can’t help but guess you have glimpsed the beast, the temptation, and have/are learning what it means to be free of it. Thank you for taking care of yourself, however you can. You have done a lot for us all. For me. Thank you, for inspiring me for years and years, and helping me chase my own passions.
Green already got a sponsor from NordVPN in his recent video.. How is that possible!? Anyways, TSC, Yellow, Red and Blue have to convince Green to spend time with them cuz he boutta get isolated from everyone just to get views... (Poor green he ate grass because of the comments 😢)
I agree with you, like, the last video had a explosion, I'm sure Blue, Red, Yellow, and TSC did it. I'm starting to think he's... well... he's been on the Internet a little too long. Like, if you count that prank video from Green = he's not okay.
Someone might as well have just said “Green I like it better when you delete your channel” that dude would’ve done it in a heartbeat, no questions asked. 💀

So true! It was the unnatural growth of his channel that led him to his destruction of his friendships.
I mean, also stuff like the silverfish concert thing might have caused resentment. Green probably doesn’t like being the stick who gets made fun of, and now has something special. But it’s more a commentary on fame than anything.
I kinda agree tho.
The fact that fame isnt always a solution as for example to dictators.
Actually, that's an interesting point. Will Alan become a crucial character in this arc? Didn't consider that until now.

With how far in advance this all had to be planned out it’s a really amazing story they managed to pull off- Green first gets bullied and put down across several shorts and videos (the silverfish one being the cumulation of it all) making him rightfully feel under appreciated
Then he finally gets well deserved recognition but not from his friends but rather from online comments… leading him to the toxic spiral of chasing that high of being appreciated- hence the toxic behavior towards his friends since he’s trying to follow all the big trends and in the process is sabotaging his relationships- which only happened because he probably felt under appreciated to began with.
Evil face of artistic literary appreciation

I really like how this episode is a commentary about the inherent risk of trying to become a content creator and what can happen when you do, and how social media and attention can put us in a constant feedback loop where you prioritize your possible livelihood against anyone else.

4:47 BRO IM THERE!!!!
what I love about this arc is how deep it really is
Like for some people creating content can be the toxic friend who manipulates you into betraying your closest friends and family, just so they don’t leave you.
