Rachelle Ann's and Isay's are two different Gigis as the new Miss Saigon production changed the lyrics of many songs. So it is hard to compare as they are telling two different stories. They are apples and oranges. The original Miss Saigon is still the best.
The first voice that attracted me (aside from Lea of course) when I first heard the soundtrack of Miss Saigon was that of Isay Alvarez who I heard for the first time. Her performance as Gigi, to me, was one the most memorable one in the whole show.
Both Isay Alvarez and Lea Salonga have beautiful voices. This is a heartbreaking song about dreams that cannot be attained, and both ladies (and the other bargirls) captured the emotions of the song perfectly. 😭🙏

I always liked Isay's mature voice for the Gigi role. All of the others have young voices.
