In my 85 years of life I have never felt the despair and loss of hope for my country and disappointment in some Americans as I do now. Then there is the music like this and choir videos that show how Americans and others can pull together and give of themselves. And it gives me hope for the future of the human spirit and for our world. Thank you
Hard not to shed a tear. My coworker asked me to order a recording of this piece for him. He didn't tell me he was dying of pancreatic cancer. I just thought he was one who appreciated the music. The meaning of this piece to him didn't become clear to me until after his death.

I'm sorry but this is fake...
You cannot obtian such good audio quality / sound recording(s) by superposing hundreds of cellphone audio. Even in a professional studio... getting a real clean recording of a string instrument is extremely elaborate and difficult. The music in this video cannot be the result of multiple people all over the world with different recording setups. You would have so much polluting noise that the music would be inaudible. Even if they all had incredible recording setups... You would hear hundreds of different tones and timbres superposed on one another. You would hear car honks, streets noises, bird chipping, etc... This video is fake :s
@@10HW Yeah, the background noise would add up but it would still be quieter than the music. You wouldn't notice any random sound since it would so quiet. Check out Jacob Collier's beginning of Moon River and the bts
There are now multiple audio software platforms that allow for multitrack editing, wherein the sinewaves can be alligned and any extraneous noise can be filtered, such as the rustling of page turns, throat clearing, breathing, and etc.
My dad edited a virtual choir for about 20 people and it took him nights and I just can't imagine how much effort you made for this amazing piece of art!
It can be automated.
Where can we find a recording?

So moving to see myself playing right beside the photo of my parents. Thanks tony.
Wow! That is amazing!
That is beautiful•
So meaningful! Playing cello is a gift.. would you mind to tell us in which minute you appear, if it's ok? I would like to see your parents in the photo :)
What is the significance of playing with those pictures? Are they all the musicians' parents? Their inspirations for playing? Dedications, or ...?
Thankyou so much for this beautiful collaboration! Now if our world could come together like this. My grandfather played the cello in the Birmingham, Alabama Symphony and I was 8 when he passed. My fondest memory of him was listening to him play the cello. Bless all of you. Your so talented. Keep playing together. It's so comforting.
For all those who have died, this is such an incredible tribute to them

I think, in my very humble opinion, that this is the most emotional piece of music known to man. I weep every time I hear it, this was simply beautiful. Thank you
stan crouch This and Mozart’s Requiem.
I would have to agree.
Totally there with you.
clair de lune for me
This became one of my two favorite pieces in college, along w/ Wagner Tristan & Isolde Prelude. I also cry when this is played; but here....with only celli...I am touched more deeply, I think, than when played by full string orchestra. It's almost like the union of deeply spiritual with almost a sexual joy. Hard to put into words.
I think that I coped for about 10 seconds before the tears flowed, and I sobbed right to the end. Thank you everyone for a truly incredible experience.
Got me by the second measure!
Philip Meers, Yes.
I'm afraid I didn't last that long. I was in floods of tears as soon as I heard the first note, lol. :)
The gift of music is unsung in the accounting of the great Gifts granted by the Almighty; and yet it, and the talent to produce it is one of the finest of gifts it is possible for our species to produce. It comes from beyond this Earthly existence, and transcends our own short time here in this form. God bless all who shared their gifts and a piece of their own hearts in the memorializing of their loved ones here. God bless the healing of humanity in every possible way; long after Covid is vanquished.
This should be the anthem of humanity after we're done with the Corona Virus.
Amen!! Elizabeth
This would fit there if we all die from corona... as it is now we need some clown song for surviving corona as more people will die from political idiots making people die from hunger in civilized countries than from form virus.
Or even during coronavirus ;)
Why not now.
"Anthem of Humanity." I like that. Love this video.
While watching this video, I was thinking of my school friend, Bernard Egan, who was a cellist. He would loved to be in this video. He was a victim of another pandemic, polio, which he contacted as a child. Although he recovered, the after effects of the treatment he received eventually killed him before his time.
...and people says that this pandemic is not real :(
So sorry to read. Life is so fragile.
@@catapatata He said polio, not covid.
Now I am thinking of him too.
@@LisaCupcake The same people who say this pandemic is not real are mostly also anti-vaxxers and are waiting with bated breath for polio to return - if one judges them by their actions. It’s like at the gynecological check-up where the dr asks “are you trying to get pregnant?” and the (usually) young patient replies “no” and then dr asks “what protection methods do you use” and the patient replies “no physical methods” (eg. the “calendar” or whatever) and acts surprised when the dr then paraphrases “so, you are trying to get pregnant, check, let’s make sure your diet is good and you get enough folic acid”. There’s only so far one can go proclaiming “nothing’s burning” while their hair are on fire, you know :)
im am a cellist can hardenly write this i am balling my eyes out. i miss my colleges. thankyou for puting this up. thankyou to everyone involved.
Coronavirus can`t stop life, we need to restore truth and peace, thanks for a valuable life.
This video was recommended to me. This is my second time listening to it. I was about to click into another tab, but I felt like watching the people play for a little longer. I saw a face that looked familiar, did a double take, skipped to the credits looking for a Walworth. He was my 6th and 7th grade orchestra teacher. Never expected to see anything of him since he switched jobs. I still have my student email, so I might mention it to him. Pretty cool.
That’s so nice :)
My mother was a middle and high school orchestra teacher...she is gone now but she would have absolutely loved this. I've played this many times myself but this really spoke to me. Thank you.
Thank you all who brought this to be.......and to the Lord Who gives us this beautiful gift of expression
Thank you. MUSICIANS. Producers. Filmmakers. Wonderful. Tribute of Love. I thought of August Rush Movie. Priceless talents. Keep up the Music. Don't listen to criticism. Just like in Art. There are no mistakes. Full of color, and a soulful heart.
Wonderful. I'm so delighted my kid is playing in this. Thank you.
Tears came first, then a small understanding of the passion of so many participating in such an amazing effort. The logistics must have been daunting but the result is wonderful, made even more meaningful once the purpose of all of the empty spaces because clear. Thank you
Perfectly beautiful. Every time I watch this, I find myself weeping because of the beauty of it and remembering how I felt about COVID at first - how scared we all were. This is a great comfort~!
Even God stops when this treasure came up !...
In a world that's struggling, Music is a deffenite need. It's so very rewarding to watch this. Beautiful musical event. How great each of you are
Beautiful project, created in a time where we need it most. Thank you all!
Music is the heart and soul of the human race. Sometimes I forget that, but I'm always reminded of it when I find something like this. It was well made. Thank you, all.
I didn't even know it was all cellos until I checked my feed at the end of the piece! 🎻🎵🎻🎵🎻🎵🎻
The most moving piece of music I have ever heard. Thank you to all the cellist who brought this project to us and the all the others on the equipment and electrical and sound side. This is spectacular. Surely this will be displayed and kept for all to listen to
For it shows what can be done even in most trying times of our world. THANK YOU TO ALL!
I am so moved by this. The collection of cellists from 29 countries brings us together in a way that makes me wish for a more cohesive America.
What a moving tribute to all these wonderful cellists and those that haves passed. Thank you all for all the hard work you’ve done to create and share this with everyone.
thank you
I am a cellist and played this piece in an orchestra last year - I found it so emotional that I literally started crying ON STAGE! (I managed to keep playing though)
I understand completely, the Adagio is my favorite piece of music from any timeline, with "Ode to Joy" a close second.
But Barber's Adagio is beyond it, In how it moves my soul.
that is what music is supposed to do. some have music the language of the greek gods,
Thank you! All of you. You have brought heart and life into anyone who listens. Thank you.
I don’t think there has ever been a more emotional piece written. I tear up every time!❤️
I was introduced to this piece in 6th grade the weekend after John Kennedy was assassinated when the network seemed to play it on a loop, then again as we mourned after 911. It seems fitting in 2021 to encounter it again after the attack on the US Capitol. Thank you for this special way to mourn
This song I heard first about 25 years ago. It helped set something in motion many things that continue to affect and shape my life today.
This drives me to tears like the song itself. The fallen...wow...blessings to the survivors, and fair winds and following seas to the ones we lost.
THANK YOU ALL !! From the bottom of my heart and soul. It´s pure magic. I´m so in tears ... What a wonderful project. It gives hope . Thank you .
Congratulation everyone! This piece means so much for so many people, it was great to be able to perform it again, in this unique context!
Gorgeous. Brings tears to my eyes, all you beautiful people coming together to perform the most beautiful piece of music I think I've ever heard. Cellos, man - what a sound!
This is so moving and so timely. Sincere thanks to everyone who contributed.
This is what one calls elite, for the love of what Our Creator has called us to be, set apart from this world, even for a moment in our time. Alluejiah, Praise and our pride be to the King of kings👑 and Lord of lords🕊️👑🔥🌈 Grace is unto us from the Almighty Amen
I'm *still* in tears from this - you have truly outdone yourself this time, my friend...
The glory of music, talent, composers, technology used to produce togetherness amidst physical separation in a time of challenge brought by a virus, yet bringing the magic of harmony in music and in souls and glory to God, Author of life and Creator and Sustainer of life, love, Beauty, truth, and more than I can comprehend or imagine.
Beautiful. For many years I have insisted that this is the music I want to be played at my funeral.
Goose bumps! Beautiful! Thank you for sharing.
Loving greetings and thank you to Samuel Barber, who must surely must be here with us all and as enchanted as we are. Thank you to each performer and to the organisers of this beautiful, soul liberating soul-liberating music and performance.
Such an emotional and heartfelt tribute to the loved ones we have lost on the way!♥️
One of the Most soul stirring pieces of music every created. One has to think what gut wrenching heartache was Barber experiencing to pen such sadness to sheet music. 🎶🎶🎶
In grade nine I played the cello. We didn't have enough violins, or even violas so I got the cello which was as tall as I was. I loved it too, but it was the size. This art I am listening to is an amazing gathering of people across the globe and the music is deeply moving. Thank you for doing this for us.
This piece always takes me back to the period following 9-11.
I am moved to tears by this. As the father of an accomplished cellist, this just struck to the core. It so painfully illuminates what we've lost during the pandemic, but simultaneously embraces us with a sense of hope and for a return to normalcy. The joy of seeing live music, to witness your loved one's perform or experience your own performance will eventually return. Actually, with this, music is clearly still alive and well. Thank you for sharing this. While I weep, I weep with a smile on my face and a full heart.
My heart, mind and soul offers thanks to each of you for participating in such a moving performance. I was touched and felt it in every fiber of my being. It literally moved me to tears.
WOW Folks...this is just tremendous and so moving. This is one of my top 5 favourite compositions, and I know it reasonably well, but I'm so used to hearing it played by a Philharmonic or full Orchestra. With just the Cellos I can hear so many "voices" I've never heard so clearly before. Thank you for this. Lovely.
This piece of music is eternal. Have loved it for years. It is the sound of hearts breaking.
So sad....samuel barber talks to our soul...thank you 😢💔
I was a chaplain on 9/11/2001. For many people this song is catharsis. I sing with it on some days. Thanks. I cry sometimes thinking of that day.
Perfect music as we journey toward Ash Wednesday and Lent. Thank you for this joy.
Tony, thankyou so much for brilliant direction. You are a treasure. How lovely is this, for the many cellists globally to come together.
One of favorite pieces of music. This performance is particularly poignant. Brought tears to my eyes. Bravi!
These are the gifts we all get to benefit from, thanks to the virus! Something good onto our home screens, and audio without words, weaving us all into their tapestry of tones. Fabulous!
It's been lovely to be able to join in with cellists from all around the world on such a moving piece. It sounds so beautiful. Thank you. 🌻💛
Incredible. This project undertaking must have been massive. I too am a musician, and I feel an incredible movement in their performance. The video guy got a little nutty, but I just closed my eyes and absorbed this resounding beauty of a performance. Doing it this way, apart from each other, tended to create a softness in the attack of each note that would probably not have happened had they been seated and playing together. A truly “different” sound apart from the standard performing orchestra. Tony Rogers, this is pure genious.
Thanks Tony Rogers, and thanks of all world!
I came back and watched this by myself after the premiere and legit got goosebumps! (My 5-year-old was beside me for the premiere, asking, "Is that you, Mama? Is that one you? Is THAT you?") I have enjoyed this immensely and look forward to the next one. Thank you, Tony!

Wonderful to be able to play next to the photo of my mentor and accompanist from college.
Hello pretty 💕
This is so beautiful and creative... I have goosebumps watching this. God bless you all
Agnus Dei (Lamb of God) is a choral composition in one movement by Samuel Barber, his own arrangement of his Adagio for Strings (1936). In 1967, he set the Latin words of the liturgical Agnus Dei, a part of the Mass, for mixed chorus with optional organ or piano accompaniment. The music, in B-flat minor, has a duration of about eight minutes.

Thank you for this beautiful music ......... thanks to all who played and put this together. Tears flowing.
I have always loved the sound of a cello and it was a thrill when one of my nieces and one of my nephews took up the instrument. I found this piece by serendipitous fortune. I was not looking for music but it popped up while searching for something else to share with my middle school English Language Arts students on a Friday. I've lost friends to COVID-19 and this piece had me in tears from the first measure but when the pictures of the deceased were shown...oh...the beauty of the composition, the magnificence of the playing, and the stunning visual editing....MADE MY YEAR. Thank you.
Performed this piece, close to 40 years ago, as a member of a clarinet choir, while attending music camp at East Carolina University (ECU). I was a contra-alto clarinetist.

Actually, Bless you. With this I can say I am proud to be a human being. My hat is off, my heart is full. Bless you all.
So beautiful. So moving. I cried.
🤍Such a touching memorial to our dear ones. 🥰 Thank you, Tony.
So beautiful cried all the way through. Thank you for presenting. Yes Jana this piece is perhaps the closest to the heavenly realm. Healing through music needed for our planet.
This song was played on the television, after the 9/11 attacks, over and over again, as a list was shown of the names of those who died. I wept everytime, no matter how many times it was played.
As an avid cellist in my youth and recreational player now this hits home from an unexpected angle.
Thank you all for putting your time and energy into this project.
Herzlichen Dank an alle - auch an die Techniker! Eine wunderschöne Idee und tolle Ausführung, einfach grandios und weltumspannend schön!
Your Truly All Magnificent and Pure Pleasure To Listen Too 🎶 So Beautiful, So Touching, So Moving. My Heart 💓 Weeps With Joy! God Watch Over Each and Everyone Of You Playing 🙏 Augusta ☺️🌺🌈🦋 I Thank You.Cellists
Didn’t even make it one note into the song before I started tearing up. Something so incredible about music and seeing all these strangers come together to play this haunting piece.

Oh I have a great lump in my throat and tears in my eyes. This is just so amazing, I am in complete awe. Take care every one, and God bless
What a beautiful tribute to loved ones who have departed. I loved the way you manipulated the imagery to highlight certain cellists, and the loved ones no longer with us. Thank you so much!
Hello pretty 💓
There are no words to describe the feelings contained within. Thank you for giving the world your music!
Congratulations and thank you to all involved!
Beautiful when we all come together and for short time and forget all this hard times ❤ you all BRAVO
so blessed to be part of this, such a beautiful end result, great work producing it, looks amazing
wow, I love Samuel Barber...and what a beautiful performance...God Bless all of you.
What a meaningful and beautiful experience to be a part of this community of cellists from all over the world!! Tony thank you so so much for your extraordinary talent and generosity in providing this for us all.
An amazing beautiful and moving production - thank you everyone and Tony Rogers
What a useful stringed instrument it is! I had no idea of its range, just that it is a soulful and matriarchal voice. Whoever "Ana Melian" is, her 'daughter' brought me here.
Communication of the soul!!!!!deep feelings expressed, the music, the interpretation, the union of the world in one moment of peace, where beauty says that love is sublime.
Oh my. That is so beautiful. Happy/sad to be alive. Lost my wonderful step-mom, Mimi to Covid. I miss her every day.
Music can bring the world together. Just beautiful. 😭
I get goosebumps and weeping... So beautiful and great!!! I play Violin.

Rich....!!! Super rich....what a neat blessing....I think you are gonna start something really wonderful...
Just beautiful! I laying in my bed, crying. Thank you all!
Soo beautiful. Shivers and tears. Thank you so much
This has to be the most beautiful music ever created. Not to sound morbid, but my sons already know that when my time comes, I want this piece to be played. The emotions that are felt with this covers all emotions that can be humanly felt.
So moving so sad I wept. Powerful beyond words.
Oh my God! It's so amazing, beautiful..... I loved! Thanks for this opportunity! Congratulations Tony!
