- We all have been or are at the stage of life where we have to choose one thing between either our dreams or a stable life. Many a times, we choose stability only to make the distance between us and our dreams shorter.
Sometimes, it takes a lot of time to complete that distance. It took Priya 30 years to listen to her calling and get back to her dreams.
Performed live at Kahaaniya Showcase by Tape A Tale (Delhi Edition), Priya Malik's story "Bade Hokar kya Banoge" left the audience spellbound.

I finished watching this video just now and my eyes are wet, tears rolling down my cheeks, I feel a sudden wrench in my heart and a strangle in my gut.
Not a thing is different between your dreams and mine.
And seeing you on that stage, living your dream, despite all odds and at 30....my faith in myself and the universe is restored.
I feel every word, I've been through the exact same experiences, even the jobs are the same, I can say I'm in the 2nd phase. I am a teacher and I'm good at my job but "desperation still persists."
I wrote my first poem when I was 12, amateur but my it was my first realization, of my love for poetry and art.
And now there's nothing that that can alter my unparallel love for words and verses.
I'm deeply touched by this video and Priya Ma'am you have been an inspiration ever since I've known your work, and if you say "kalakaar ko stage milega" then I believe in it unquestionably.
Thank you, thank you for this soul stirring piece and experience.
I'm still sobing and this time my tears signify happiness and hope.

Wow mam literally what a poetry. It's so inspiring that one cannot end escape from their calling , l am a teenager and it's very hard to decide what to do in future but your poetry relaxes me that not to stress about it and just go for my calling.

I can relate to this poem so much..... I am a medical student now & I tell myself everyday that, yes.... This is your passion.... Kitni zyada mehnat k baad mila hai ye.... Kitna kuch kia tumne iske liye.....
But deep inside, I know ye meri pehli mohabbat nhi hai..... Yes.... Ishq isse bhi hogaya hai ab🥀
Par pehli mohabbat to wahi stress wali, extremely competitive corporate life e hai.... Tabhi shayad dhund li hai ek rasta use bhi side me karne ki..... I am part time freelancer and despite being financially solvent enough, I do it.... I don't know why but I do it with so much dedication.....
Par wahi middle class upbringing to pursue this as my main career 😂 But bechaini barkarar nhi hai ab..... Ishq to medical life se bhi bht hai.... Lagav to iss profession se bhi bohot hai 🥀

If somebody is reading this, I want to put it out there that I'm struggling. "Problem kya hayn?" jab log puchte hayn to main bhi bata nahi paati ki problem actually mein hayn kya. Haa wo bechayni hayn, pata hayn kyu? Kyunki ek middle class family se hokar sapne dekhne ka jurrat Kiya hayn Maine. I want to be a singer. There's not a single day that goes by when I don't cry thinking agar kuch aur hona chahti toh life shayad Thora easy hota but alas! Sangeet ke bina jee nahi sakti aur Sangeet mujhe abhi jeene de nahi Raha hayn. Mohabbat bhi badi kambaqt cheez hayn, hoti bhi to aisi cheezon se jo ki hume bohut satati hayn. I hope I become a singer very soon and make my mother proud.
