This is a new method for me and it is good, very good. I am 9 years in Spain and still learn something new each day. I have read some of the comments and people say well, "in my language it is so and so" "it does not translate the same" "such and such means this or that in my language". Forget it! You are learning a new language so just listen and repeat! Listen and repeat! When you were a baby and learned your native language you did not used to sit up in your pram and say "Hold on a minute that´s not baby talk" every time you heard a new word/phrase. Forget translation and just go with it "Listen and repeat" and it will eventually stick in your memory bank. Another thing is to enjoy it, don´t get bogged down. Just walk away when you are struggling and have a break as you will get frustrated and learn little or nothing.

This is spot on. I’ve tried learning Spanish for decades now, with 3 years of high school Spanish I never used it, but the way we were taught in school was way off.
I went to the United States Military Academy and tried German and learned more in one semester than 3 years in high school Spanish.
Reason… we went fast and learned to speak.
Fast forward to the past few years. I worked with a company that had Spanish speaking employees and I would be with them all day and I would just speak as best I could to the point they could understand what I was trying to say, THEY would help me say things more correctly if you will, but in the end they would correct me in sentences or rather phrases. I learned the phrases and I could communicate.

@@syntaxoid Goal for DLI is now 2+/2+, and you're not entirely wrong about the failure rates. However, much has improved over the years. Cat IV languages are still the worst, only Chinese has seen any improvements since the 2+/2+ initiative started.

DCSOPS worked at getting accreditation and in that process got languages like Spanish and German additional 8-12 weeks of instruction. It isn't a perfect system, but if you try to cram 12 years of instruction in 9 months, sacrifices will be made.

I bought the first course three years ago and played it every morning and afternoon on my commute. In my case, (a bit of a slow learner), it took about six months, until I was speaking and understanding Spanish to a more than reasonable level. The beauty of it, is the lack of complication. You never feel like you're at school having to go robot like through verbs and adjectives. Highly recommended and great value.

I watched this video all the way through. The first part is great material for beginners. For those just starting Spanish I advide you to stick with it and you will really learn some great Spanish. I learned one new word from the beginners exorcize. That was "soler" which I did some research to find. The beginners learned the first person present indicative form of this "suelo".
One really great thing about these lessons that you are improving is that they really showcase the teaching methods showcased it the course.
I really struggled with the subjunctive part. All four subjunctive triggers were new to me. To make it more challenging you added in sentences which were in part I believe conjugated in the conditional present indicative.
This really humbled guys like me with a little more than 600 days working hard to learn Spanish.
For me the real test today was that I hired an immigrant house keeper who understands very little English. It is still very difficult to construct basic sentences to deal with real life situations.
Thanks for starting me down the road over 600 days ago with Pro Spanish. your screen layouts have improved significantly in the time I have been watching.
    Bien trabajo!

I have realized that I have run into the verb "soler" before. in its imperfect past indicative form it is "solía" which means "to used to". This is used in a really great Prospanish video called "used to" about the imperfect indicative tense.

I think it'd be helpful if done with more pronouns, as a question/statement/answer, and themes; family, eating, travel, etc.
Like: {who, when, where, why, how} ¦ [did/do(es)] | you, I, he, she, we, they| [did/do(n't/es/esn't)] [want(s),can('t)] (to) go(es) to| the supermarket, movies, game, park | on Monday, today, tomorrow, at 5, this weekend, later, now | alone, with you, me, him, her, them, us | ?!.

Our maestro has done just that. Every free video offered by ProSpanish contains a a short advertisement for the premium product that takes you from beginner to fluency.
The UA-cam videos are different. They are not a step by step series of videos. Rather each video is designed to be accessible in theory to all users at all levels.
So for example with each new video we must learn again that in order to make a video negative all you have to do is add a no on the front.
Many videos will start by giving us a cheat sheet of words that will be used in the lesson.
As you watch more and more lessons you start to realize that you are learning a basic vocabulary so that as time goes on you will find the you know every word of the basic vocabulary.
Some of the exercises will become so easy you can quickly master them with your eyes closed.
But our Maestro keeps us going by including material that is more difficult to master.
So if you can afford it I would suggest that you get the full course that these videos advertise.. The whole time I have been following this channel I have never seen anybody who has tried the premium series ever say anything negative about it. Just my two cents worth.

In 🇨🇦 we learn the C is a sea sound, not a th sound, so decidi is that, not dethidi and hacer is acer not ather. A bit confusing, but this is teaching northern Spain pronunciations, not Mexican or Latin American Spanish. We were told people in southern Spain travelled to Latin America, fought a war and brought their language to North America and Latin America and they don’t speak with the lisp.

When trying to learn Spanish, I found that, as an English speaker, verb conjugation was the most difficult, especially when listening. As Spanish speakers tend to drop the pronouns, I, you, he, they, etc., because it is implied by the verb, I would get caught up trying to decipher which pronoun it was. Also, 18 tenses and those irregular verbs!

I'm stumbling up into Spanish language... I wonder how that would be set in Spanish... It seems to be actual equivalent words. . Amounts to a different way of framing ideas... The actual translation is learning a different way of framing words...
