Franny Beecher was a big Charlie Christian fan but I don't know if he used that scale. I knew that when I heard the playing of Franny Beecher that he was a big fan of CC. I heard it. Beecher's playing was like CC on high octane. He even played guitar for Benny Goodman just as CC did but Beecher wasn't a well known musician under Goodman like CC was, it wasn't until later he came into prominence.
Thanks for the vid Adrian, enjoyed learning about the psychobilly scale and style. I am modal guy so like the idea of Dorian blues. Psychobilly hasn't been my cup of tea (I;'ve been shredding with harmonic minor and Phrygian scales lately), but will look into trying it out. Any suggestions for good backing tracks I could use to practise improvising?
No worries Jim, thanks for being open minded and checking this out though! You can use this over any minor blues but if you search up any rockabilly backing track youll find it should work well given it’s a blues based scale idea really. Maybe someone needs to make some psychobilly backing tracks! Also if you’re looking for some of the more commercially successful/palatable psychobilly checkout mad sin, but yes it’s an acquired taste for some!

Hi Ed, great question! You could use it in both contexts! Plough through all 3 chords or move it, both work!
