To everyone who shakes their heads or laughs here: go there and show that you can do better when everyone is watching you. Perhaps the driver has not been in this business so long and has to acquire such skills first? This was a very difficult task!
To reverse a combination like this requires some serious skill the common internet surfer can't even imagine. Those cargo lanes on those ships are very narrow and you need to park that semi by centimetre to leave some room for your neighbour. Those truckers are the best drivers on this planet! I have witnessed that a milloin times. When you ask the trucker to move his combination 2cm sideways, he will do it. Most people can't do that with a small personal car!
I'm sure he tried everything to get his truck on board I will not critise him Oppesite, thumbs up, big respect for truck drivers I think I would "jackknifed" it straight away 🙈 I stick with the little stuff
Reversing a B train as we call it. Is extremely difficult and I don't blame the driver for not being able to reverse that thing. I've been trucking for 2 years now and I still struggle with B trains

The big question isn't about the truckdriver but of the design of the ship. Why did they make the entrypoint so unpractical, narrow and really unusable? Is the ship meant only for passangers with private cars? In that case i guess it makes sense. Otherwise the ship fails one of it purposes in its design.
They have to reverse in as they were to come out the same door at the ships next port. The last trucks almost always have to be facing the way of the exit. If the truck got stuck reversing off upon arrival it would hold everyone else trying to get off.
Minä en ymmärrä, miksi Transmarillakin on noita B-junia?
Skills? When he in the end haft to drive forward aboard! :) They only say that to the drivers that dont are abeble to go backwards aboard... look at the red trailer that make it aboard on the first try...
The red trailer hade the easiest job there, Transmar lenght is 25,25m - 34,50m and reversing with dubble trailer is not easy under time pressure and they have no more then 0.5m on both side on the ship. And as you can see its high water so Grace is higer up and you need more power to the wheels. ;)
@Rafa v ye maybe 20-30cm max... if you read my last comment you saw that i wrote almost straight. we travel with that boat every week... so i know what im saying

My worst nightmare would be reversing that big trailer on such a tight space. Oh my god.

👍🏻 not a easy jobb, and only 15 min harbourtime.
Why are the best drivers always commenting behind the screen?

Bussinkin peruuttaminen kyytiin on varsin pelottava kokemus.

HCT peruuttaminen on todella vaikeaa, varsinainen yhdistelmät ja puolikaita on helpompi peruuttaa.
Why dont such a modern ferry have ramps in the front?? Its so modern so there is a kind of rotating sail on top of it.
She does, but she only use it in Stockholm, in Turku and Mariehamn she uses the stern ramp
Thank yoy! I just found a picture. Shes opening with two doors in front instead of whole bow lifting. You cant really see it when its closed.

It's the......who designed the ship. You'd think the'd a simple thing like sufficient headroom for vehicle boarding right, right !!!!!!!!!!!
Epic
I used to back double hoppers into Coors in golden Colorado. It sucks. Let's see how many naysayers can do it. Most of today's drivers are pitiful...
