Couple corrections / shoutouts: - Drivnod doesn't double the Brimaz EOT trigger - Syr Gwyn is also a notable Knight commander! I wasn't thinking about her because every Syr Gwyn deck I've ever seen builds her Equipment with only a handful of relevant knights (under 10), so I don't usually associate her as a Knight deck - Gimbal puts 3 +1/+1 counters if you have a Treasure token and Food token, not 2. The token it makes is also an artifact so that's a 3rd name
Gimbal is so cool, I love temur colours the most and I've never seen a temur artifact deck before. I'll definitely be trying to brew around this, figuring out how many different types of tokens I can make and see how tall of a gremlin I can make. Love it.
This doesn't necessarily tie to this video, but if Seth doesn't play Borobrygmos and Fblthp in the first March of the Machines Clash, I will riot. Even if he's off for the season. Guest him. He must play it.

I don't believe Drivnod will have an effect since the triggered ability isn't being placed on the stack following a creature dying. A triggered ability will check the state prior to being placed on the stack and since a creature didn't die in the game state prior to the trigger, I don't think it triggers a second time.
I'm not sure if this is a chicken and egg situation, but lorewise Norn wanted Capenna and Theros particularly to get wrecked to keep Elspeth away from Phyrexia (that she might choose to help her homeworlds rather than face Norn directly)
The angel feels like the most Bant creature ever if you just took haste away and it makes me sad because when I first started playing Magic Selesnya was my favorite guild so I associate Convoke with them the most.
@@danielcombs7252 no it doesn't, it's a delayed ability that then checks if a phyrexian creature died this turn, and doesn't trigger from a creature dying, but rather triggers at the beginning of the end step.
@@danielcombs7252 the trigger on Brimaz isn't triggered by a creature dying, it's triggered by moving to the end step "AT the beginning of each end step". Green isn't encroaching on any territory. Gimbal isn't a monogreen commander. Izzet handles the artifacts, green is just there because he adds +1/+1 counters.
I think he definitely missed the mark with Gimbal, the amount of token artifacts could be huge. Treasures, clues, food, token creatures like servos, copy's and gremlin. Then, the counters and trample for all he is going to be my pick of the precons
Why is the convoke deck jeskai colored? Convoke is primarily green and white with some black cards and very few red and blue cards and colorless artifacts. Unless the deck has a chief engineer card for other card types they're gonna have to have a lot of new cards to make it work.
From the looks of the current preview cards, I’m getting the hint that it may revolve around convoking noncreature spells a lot more than anything else (see invasion of segovia, city on fire) so token go wide deck, and Convoke support spells are going to be key in this. I like it!!

Ah, who would have thought, wotc makes a precon with a Phyrexian tribal commander in which two already expensive mythics from a standard set are basically the first auto includes. ... By the way, I can't be the only one who noticed that standard set mythics are often straight up improvements of the precon commanders, right? It was especially clear in Streets of new Capenna, imo.
@RasmusVJS EDH: i haven't beaten a new pyhrexia poison deck yet. My idea of casual is very light in the combo off, 2-3 cards infinite combos winning strategy. It is very easy to lose with either the first or second turn you have been poisoned with the recent proliferate support. Also, in standard, the poison proliferate decks are doing very well in the meta. I'm already done with the strategy. Sorry, just my opinion.
In fairness, it's like...Phyrexian Looting effectively? One card per turn isn't good but nowhere near as egregious as the Eminence of past cards. Plus this is designed better on grounds of they gave a meaningful effect to him to warrant casting and getting in with him. Is it perfect? Not even close. But if they must revisit this and they did, it's a step in the right direction

Wotc must really dislike Theros with making it the plane that really takes the worst of the phyrexian assimilation. RiP my dude, Brimaz.
Ikr, At minimum, four gods are practically dead along with Polukranos and a few other legendary creatures like Cymede are now Compleated.
