TECH 21 PAUL LANDERS PL1 SIGNATURE FLY RIG | Guitar Interactive | Review

- The fire and fury of Paul Landers' virile tone are immortalized in the Tech 21 PL1 Fly Rig. Paul Lan-ders has been a longtime user of Tech 21's SansAmp guitar gear-notably the PSA and GT2-since the beginning of Rammstein's monumental career. "I've always been a no-amp guy," Landers says of his low-carry, laser-focused industrial guitar sounds heard on "Du Hast" and other hits. The Paul Landers PL1 features two distinct channels of SansAmp emulation, a host of essential FX, and 1/4" and XLR outputs, all at a size you can easily tuck under an arm in transit. Nick Jennison tells us mo-re.
Really detailed and super useful reviews with some killer playing.
I’ve got one. Replaced my Mesa triple best piece of gear I’ve purchased in long time. Use it as my mine rig.
Great review, thanks 🙏
Excelente video. Muchas gracias desde Perú
Only 39 Likes? Wtf - *Really great review Nick thank you
It's pronounced "Foyer" btw :/)
Sounds amazing! What was the PL-1 plugged into (ie mixer, etc)?
It's not a backup rig.
It IS his rig.
I’m assuming it’s got a cab IR built in? Mesa boogie 4X12?
I have this pedal. So, the direct output doesn't really have a specific type of cabinet emulation as such. But you could say it has a slight scooped Mesa tone of some sort. But this flyrig has its own tonal character overall.
The pedal is completely analog so no IR. The speaker simulation is essentially an EQ curve.
High Gain immediately sounds like Rammstein.
no it doesn't, it's just the highs mids and lowmids
Love that your afraid to say “feuer” and I get lol. It’s pronounced as fire but the re is prominent
