    The average opinion of an Israeli citizen: We can and should live in peace through co-existence (either in a one or two state solution).
    The average opinion of someone from the west bank (or Gaza): Jews cannot be here and peace will not be achieved until they are gone from the land.
    Once Palestinians accept the idea that Israel is not going anywhere, they will be able to accept co-existence.

      @h.singular9613 No, its the only realistic path to peace. The past 75 years have proven that "justice" won't solve the issue. This kind of thinking is what perpetuates the suffering of Palestinians. The Jews have given up on seeking justice for the holocaust, instead they realized that they need to focus on the next steps required to prevent another one from happening - this was to establish a sovereign Jewish state. Palestinians can similarly end their sufferingand live in peqce after they abandon the idea that Israel cannot exist.

      That is not the average opinion of the Israelis. Virtually no one ever wanted a 1 state solution and a minority wants a 2 state solution. The majority want to either annex the remaining territory or keep the status quo going. All the polling has shown this for the past few decades. The only exception was in the early 2010s where both sides favored a 2 state solution. I really do wish Israelis though like you describe though.

    Arabs began paying attention to Zionism in the late Ottoman period.
    In 1899 , compelled by a holy duty of conscience , Yousef al-Khalidi , mayor of Jerusalem and a member of the Ottoman Parliament , wrote a letter to Zadok Kahn , the chief rabbi of France to voice his concerns that Zionism would jeopardize the friendly associations among Muslims , Christians and Jews in the Ottoman Empire.
    He wrote , ( Who can deny the rights of the Jews to Palestine ? My God Allah , historically it is your country ) , meaning that Khalidi is saying that the land belongs to the jews , according to Allah ....
    But Khalidi suggested that , since Palestine was already inhabited , the Zionists should find another place for the implementation of their political goals , and he added ( in the name of God , he wrote , let Palestine be left alone ) , meaning that in this case Khalidi prefers to decide by himself , instead of listening to Allah ....
    So Khalidi said in the beginning , who can deny the Jews to Palestine , and then turns to Allah , in Adding ( That Historically it is the land of the Israelites ) , but Khalidi is the one who denies it , as he says firstly , who can deny , and directly denies it from the jews himself...
    You see the Hypocrisy here , you see Arabs say one thing , and say that they believe in Allah , but a second after , they are the one's who deny his word , and prefer to take their own decisions for their political agendas , meaning forgetting Allah's words.
    And the same thing happened with Aj Amin al Husseini , and the father of all Muslim brotherhood ( Hassan al Banna ) , where both of those religious figures knew the truth , just like Khalidi , but their instant move was to oppose the Connection of the Jews to the land , and that Allah himself has signed the holy land for the children of Israel ( Surah 5 verses 20 to 26 , where in verse 26 , Allah Forbids them the entry for 40 years , 40 years , not 1 million years , and not 1 trillion years , just 40 years , and those 40 years have long passed....
    You see the Hypocrisy , and since than Israelites have bloomed , while the Arabs of the land have Fallen , this is what happens when you deny the word of Allah ..
    Taqfiri ways didn't help neither , the Muslim brotherhood is responsible for all the Arab downfalls in the past century , from being once the most advanced and civilized Religion , to sadly becoming an abomination , just because of the Muslim brotherhood

      There was no hypocrisy there. The thing that you missed in your interpretation of the verses in the Quran, is that the promise of the land was conditional. And when the conditions were not met and they repeatedly disobeyed him he exiled them all over the world. 40 years have passed, true, then why did he not return them to the promised land before even the Arabs came?
      Zionists simply used religion to push their agenda and create a secular state in the middle east. They could care less about what's in the holy books.
      And why are there still millions of Jews outside of Israel today even though there is a Jewish state? Why don't they all move back?

  • @lforlight
    @lforlight 9 днів тому +11

    As an Israeli, I find it harder and harder to imagine coexistence. There's coexistence with Israeli Arabs, which is fine and almost ideal. The problem is with the term "Palestinian", which is almost defined by its opposition of Israel. If an Israeli Arab refers to himself as an Israeli-Palestinian, I feel less comfortable around him.
    Peace? I can imagine it with strict separation. Gaza's population needs to be deprogrammed from the hate and jihadism. After that happens and Gaza has a normal leadership capable of healthy communication, then we can MAYBE consider Gaza to be an independent state and approach it as such, with strict borders, diplomacy, cutting the free aid we used to provide it so it learns to be self-sustaining, and hope that it ceases its hostility, allowing for careful peace. As for Judea and Samaria, I don't see the region becoming a separate state (they don't either), and I don't see the local population assimilating into Israel. If it does want to accept Israel and assimilate, it has to forgo the "Palestine" and "Palestinian" nonsense. If it doesn't, the population could choose to join Gaza or the already existing "Palestinian" state - Jordan. If they can't accept Israel, they don't get to live in the land of Israel.
    October 7 revealed a term in Israel: Conception. We held onto the idea of peace, that perhaps Hamas was actually becoming more moderate and that all those "attack Israel" drills and trainings were just for show, so much that it burst in our faces. Border security was reduced over the years, or it was automated or remote controlled. When the attack happened, the envelope was terribly unprotected. And that happened because of the conception, because we thought that the people in Gaza ultimately wanted to live peacefully, wishing for western values. And we were wrong.
    It's a bleeding wound that will take a LOT of effort to close and heal. Until then there will be no trust. And without trust, there will be no peace.

    The story you shared is a pivotal and deeply symbolic moment from the Mahabharata. It highlights Duryodhana's arrogance and unwillingness to compromise, which ultimately led to the catastrophic Kurukshetra war. Krishna’s peace proposal was a final attempt to avoid the conflict, underscoring his role as a divine strategist and protector of dharma.
    Despite the tragic loss of countless lives, including the children of the Pandavas, the Mahabharata teaches profound lessons about the consequences of unchecked greed, pride, and the importance of standing for righteousness, even at great personal cost. It’s a timeless narrative that resonates with the struggles between justice and injustice, peace and war. It depends which side are you and how you see the justice and injustice. @dogbert52 This proposal is not fair. You come to us from different countries and ask us to leave. Our roots have been in this land for thousands of years and we cannot leave it. If you hesitate, then leave it. So your country is expanded towards Jordan and you ask them to leave to Iraq or Egypt, and then you expand towards Iraq and ask them to leave towards Sudan. Or Yemen, this represents true greed and the erasure of the other

      @jehadasad1519 you know that many arabs migrated to the land to work. Islam isnt thousands of years old and the arab invasion of the levant didnt happen the seventh century. I don’t know why you are implying that Israel is expanding when it is the opposite. Israel looks like Swiss cheese and it doesn’t even look like a proper state because the Arab territory keeps eating at it. The only reason Israel keeps gaining land like the Sinai peninsula Gaza and the West Bank is because of the wars that the Arab started and lost. And even then, Israel gave back Sinai and Gaza, but Egypt wouldn’t take Gazza back. I feel like the Arab population doesn’t do enough of taking any responsibility and accountability for their part in preventing peace.

But Israel and Palestine will never be able to coexist… the best solution is for Israel to fully annex Gaza and the West Bank, and create autonomous regions similar to what the United States did with Puerto Rico. 2 state solution is the best solution for both sides. There are 5 million muslims in Palestinian territories ( West Bank , Gaza and East Jerusalem ) . And 2 million muslims are already in the internationally recognised part of Israel . If they will be united , this new country will be half jewish , half muslim country without dominant ethnic group. I think these two can't coexist together in the same country ( at least for now ) , because both sides want their own homogenous state ( in reality ) and doesn't accept the dominance of another . The ethnic tensions will always be present in this type of country. That's why it's better to give both sides their self determination right. So , the solution is the honest referendum in state of Palestine ( East Jerusalem , West Bank and Gaza ) . They probably would for the sovereignety of Palestine and it would be the best choice for both sides to reach the peace.
    I wish peace for all.

    What really surprised me-or what I find very interesting, viewed neutrally-is that the second group of people you interviewed, Israeli Arabs, said they are in favor of a one-state solution, meaning that everything should belong to Israel, including Gaza and the West Bank, or rather Judea and Samaria. I would say, at the moment, that this might not be a bad idea overall, but the people over there would have to accept it. It cannot just be imposed on them. Only if they themselves want it-in Gaza and in Judea and Samaria-could it be done through the right to self-determination of peoples. Otherwise, I would also say a two-state solution is necessary.
    However, Gaza and the West Bank absolutely need to be democratized, just as the Germans had to do twice in history. Once in West Germany after World War II and again in East Germany, in the former GDR, after 1989, following the SED dictatorship. That may take time, but then they could finally live in peace. Right now, the Palestinians in Judea and Samaria, in the West Bank, and in Gaza cannot freely express their opinions. If they speak out against Hamas, for example, or against the PLO, depending on which area we’re talking about-against Hamas in Gaza or against the PLO in the West Bank-and advocate for a two-state solution or peace with Israel, they can face serious problems repeatedly.
    This is why, when Palestinians are interviewed on camera, most of them speak out against Israel, simply because they are afraid. Unfortunately, this fear should never exist; no one should have to be afraid to freely express their opinion. This is true even in many democratic countries-Germany is the best example of this-but I hope you understand what I’m trying to say here. Shalom Aleichem. We want peace for everyone.

      A one state solution is completely unrealistic and one that Israel can never accept. The reason is that Israeli annexation of the West Bank and Gaza will inevitably result in Israel no longer being a Jewish state or no longer being a democracy. If it would to maintain it's democratic identity, then the newly annexed Palestinians would become Israeli citizens and Jews will become a minority in Israel. If, on the other hand, Israeli would annex the West Bank and Gaza but wouldn't grant citizenship to the Palestinians, in order to maintain the Jewish identity of the state, it would become an apartheid state, and no longer be a democracy.

      I'm not sure they meant governed by Israel but united. In Germany one country swallowed the other one up and it led to so much trauma and resentment. It is almost 35 years later and it still feels like an identity being robbed to many people from the former GDR and their children. They feel like second class citizen at times. And they never had such hatred about one another to begin with. Unification I therfore see only possible if 2 states next to each other without one wanting to kill and exile the other works. That has to be stable for at least a generation. Then maybe it's possible to unite. But not under israeli rule. Just think about cremea and Russia /Ukraine. And they were basically brothers with language and culture so aligned. Jews from the middle East and Arabs have a lot in common but the 40% ashkenazi are quite different. Not in a bad but noticeable way that complicates things further.

    The people talking about this always seem to be sidestepping the crux of the issue, that in 1947-48 much of Palestine's Arab population became refugees and were never allowed back. They're saying "Yes, we can live together like we do now in Ramle" because Ramle is 20 or 25% Arab. But 80% of Ramle's Arabs were expelled by Yitzhak Rabin in 1948. So can there be peace with 5 times as many Arabs in Ramle, making Jews the minority? Most Israelis are a lot more hesitant if you make that part of the question. But without a right of return for refugees, there will never be an end to the conflict.

    • @dolev2692
      @dolev2692 13 днів тому +4

      History is not your strong suit... First of all, Rabin was just an officer at the time and was appointed as chief of staff on 1963.
      As for the Arabs refugees, there war about 600,000 of them, from which about 400,000 settled in Jordan and got citizenship and some went to Gaza. The rest went to Syria and Lebanon. What you neglect to mention is how the Arabic leadership (who didn't accept the partition and actually started the war with intent to slaughter the Jewish population) told the Arab population to leave their homes because they were confident they will win the war and then allow them to return. For those who didn't flee, while there are cases of Israeli soldiers attacking the Arab population, it was a minority of individuals (I'm not justifying, but unfortunately it is like that in war sometimes) and by no means a deliberate policy. A lot of the Arabs who stayed later became citizens of Israel.
      If the Isreli Arabs would have Palestinians from the territories and Gaza be part of Israeli democracy as things are now (not that they want to), in a very hypothetical and not realistic scenario, they would pass rules to expel or kill every single Jew under the current leadership and the population's state of mind.
      Very sad but also very true.
      If there were to be a deradicalization process over a generation, living together might become an option.
      A two states solution will probably work better for now...

      did you know that the Muslim countries expelled more Jews when Israel was created than there were Palestinian Arabs that left or were expelled? The problem is the refugee agency that makes them believe that they have a right to return, but that’s invalid because once you lose a war, you lose your territory. The right of return is a delusion. It’s perpetrated by people who make tons of money in this conflict.

    • @peacelovelight777
      @peacelovelight777 13 днів тому +4

      No one expelled them. They were encouraged to leave by their leaders who promised them that they will be able to return. • @thesevens8797
      @thesevens8797 13 днів тому

      @@dolev2692 I literally read it in Leah Rabin's memoirs and Yitzhak Rabin's memoirs. He signed the expulsion order to kick them out of Lyd and was in charge of executing the operation in Ramle as well. Of course they justify it and say they had no choice because they had to secure the corridor from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, but they clearly said they did it. He wasn't chief of staff when he did it, of course. He was operations officer and second in command to Yigal Allon in that operation. There's a famous interaction between Yigal Allon and Ben Gurion, in front of Yitzhak Rabin, in which Allon asks Ben Gurion what to do with the residents of the towns. Ben Gurion waved his hand and said "Garesh otam" (expel them).
      After doing a little bit of research, I have discovered that in the Hebrew version of Rabin's memoir (published in 1979), the section about the expulsion of Ramle and Lydda's population was excluded by military censors. But in the English version, it's included. I'm not sure about the Hebrew version of Leah Rabin's memoir.
      The whole thing about the Arab leaders telling the population to leave isn't an important point. Even if they voluntarily left, they were never allowed to return. If someone leaves temporarily rather than participating in the war, they have the right to come back.

    Folk need to get a grip pronto that the situation has nothing to do with Israelis and Palestinians...
    The problem is within the ridiculous fairytale of Apostle Paul and Muhammad's equally insane reaction to the fairytale in Islam.

    Do you really believe there is such a thing called "Palestine"?! And if so, then let's see if you pass the test of the 3 simple questions in front of you. 1. Can you give me the name of a prime minister, or king, or president of Palestine before 1948? One member of parliament? Maybe the names of the ministers? Where was the parliament?! Or the king's palace?! Maybe what is the name of the coin?
    2. Could you give me the name of a "Palestinian" historical figure from 1000 years ago or maybe 500 years ago, or even 200 years?
    3. Can you tell me what the word "Palestine" means?
    4. As we know in Arabic there is no letter 'P' the correct word is palleshyttina, the Romans called the Land of Israel by this name because the Jews rebelled against the Romans. The Arabs say falestin or flistin, or filistin, and if they speak in English then they say balastine or balistin
    In conclusion: no one has any answer to all the questions.
    The truth is that before 1948 the land was called Palestine by the British, when there were both Jews and Arabs. Golda Meir had a Palestinian passport. And there is even a Palestine soccer team from 1939 that is all Jewish. The currency that existed here at the time of the British was the Bank of Palestine Eretz Israel, which was a Jewish bank. And he issued a currency called Palestine lira Eretz Yisrael. Today the bank is called Bank Leumi. National Bank.
