Now dude, good to see your venturing into bobber territory. I had a similar issue of not starting when bobbing my vn800 so i felt your pain and elation. One thing I did that transformed the look of my bike was to remove the clock, weld in a piece and turned the tank seams under to give a smoother more 'bobber' minimalist look. Not to everyones taste I agree. I located a new, small speedo down near to the air filter also. Good luck with the build mate.
Thank you very much for the comment mate. I have wanted a bobber for a long long time and since I started up the channel doing cars, I thought why not do a bike and do a bobber at that. I've not seen someone who does cars also do bikes so thought I would try it out and it seems that people have enjoyed the content so will carry on and maybe do another later on.
When you look at it it's like no come on this can't be standard. Plus ehat I didn't show on the video some of the wires had a fury style tape on them under it was a badly but wire as in the protector was missing ha ha. You can see why I thought someone had been messing with it 🤣.
I've build choppers, trikes, and many other bikes from the frame up and you cant beat that moment it runs! Share your feeling had it many times at that initial fire up!
Ow mate it was the biggest relief ever. No one could find the problem and your checking everything but just bring a crap ignition switch I would never of thought it without someone telling me. Over the moon.
I must say that I get a feeling of deja vu when watching your videos. I did an engine rebuild on my Mini Cooper S R56 then you did a series of videos on exactly that. I bought a cheap spares or repair Kawasaki VN900 a couple of years ago and modified it into a bobber with bigger back tyre, solo seat, homemade silencers etc, etc, etc and now you’re doing the same. Decidedly spooky.
@@sparrowscarprojects-em3fe No sold it. Spent months on it and it turned out a really nice looking bike but I’ve never had a cruiser before and found it too slow and couldn’t get used to things scraping the floor even at hardly any lean angle. Sounded gorgeous though. A guy from Scotland (I’m in Kent) bought it on the strength of the photos and sent a van to get it. I’ve loads of photos of the build including making the exhausts, fibreglass seat base, foam, upholstery etc. I didn’t go for a bobber kit but bought fender struts and a steel wider fender from a company in Germany. Needed the factory bits cutting off and new stuff welding on plus modification to their fender but overall an enjoyable project.
@@alannicholson4904 mate they sounds absolutely epic I would have loved to see that in its prime. Sounds like you did an unbelievable job with it. I know what you mean but that's the idea of them to cruiser, sound amazing and look the part.
@@sparrowscarprojects-em3fe I have to agree that they look and sound great. I love the twin sound and my current project is restoring an old Ducati Monster 900 which also had that great sound. I will follow your progress with interest and wish you the best of luck. Would send you a photo of the finished VN but not sure if you can do that on UA-cam.
No that was the problem the chrap ignition cut the fuel and spark but when I changed it the spark worked. It was the relay that needed changing also to get that to prime.
Well chuffed you got it started! I had to go through similar with a cbr929 Fireblade. Mine the ecu had died so go sent off to carmo to fix. The fuel pump relay was bypassed to get it to run when I bought it.
@@sparrowscarprojects-em3fe yeah i replied a bit early , realised you eventually found out later in your video , if they dont mention the barrel has a resistor in it , dont buy it lol
best. feeling. ever! She sounds BEASTY
@@spokedtoosoon I was so so worried that the engine was toast lol

Lol , those crimped joins in the loom are done in the factory , sometimes they blob some solder on .

Yup that's standard factory wiring. All manufacturers do it
@@jamesgale9073 yeah I heard from others that it's the case.
Well done buddy bike sounds mint look forward to seeing rest of build 👍 👏
