Austin, i have been watching for a while and I love the content and I think you are a great player and IGL. DONT LET THE NEGATIVE COMMENTS GET YOU DOWN. However, there is one bit of feedback you consistently get and its that you micro to much. And when im listening to you in between rounds, giving calls and such, i get the feeling that these are things you need to be saying before the game. When you default you have to let your boys feel out the map a little and that is hard to do if you are telling them exactly how to play. I dont think you are a bad igl, I actually think you understand the game really really well, but you cant play for everyone, you can only control yourself. I think if you let your team play a little more loose, they might be able to deliver you some free rounds/picks. think about this for example. Your team has been defaulting on t side anubis and your guy bmain thinks he can make a play but doesnt know how to explain it to you in igl speak, because he understands the game differently, he should be able to say "im gonna go for a play" or "I went for a play" off of instinct. If he fails, thats when you as igl fix the problem or at least try to, by telling him to fix x y or z. I think its hard to for you as someone who understands the macro game really well to feel comfortable with your guys making plays that go outside of your view of how the round should play. Sometimes tho, you have to let your guys cook. If your team is going to succeed your players have to have the confidence and the support of their igl to go for game changing plays. Again, im not saying go hands off, but you have to trust your guys more. I think having CLEAR default plans will help. YOU are already a great midround caller, so maybe giving your guys a clear default plan that is loose, and then playing off of what happens will help you guys on t. This is just what i see, and also seems to be a pretty common criticism, I think it is constructive and only a few assholes are trying to be critical for no reason. I think most people want to see wicked do good and we really like watching yalls journey. Just dont be the reason your team is not making plays. I feel like the timings are off because Austin sometimes doesn't call with enough urgency. I think it will get better as the team plays together more and everyone feels more comfortable.
I'm not trying to be insulting or critical of austin's style of IGL, and I really like you and all your content austin 10000%. But my question is for other viewers here. Do you feel like austin has a helicopter parent style of IGL? would you want to be on a team with an IGL like that? Now there could be a lot of reasons for it why the team functions that way. His teammates are really good, no question. But maybe the team doesn't get to practice together enough so it's more of austin trying to impart as much knowledge as he can during freeze time, so to me it seems like austin is micromanaging by suggesting spots/strats to all his teammates every freezetime to give the other side different looks. I kinda think that his teammates could be given a little more freedom and autonomy
I think Austin should be playing at a higher level cs than this, sorry but he's very good to be at this level. it's just that being an igl plus playing is what's making him not pop off
