What's this like on the 57"? I'm trying to find anyone's reaction to 360 video watching on a 32:9 with head tracking. If it works, that ought to be something...
Thank you! I used my G9 while working on the Premiere Pro project! There are some spots where the YT compression has some issues, even in the AV1, but I did upload an extremely high quality 12 bit video, so hopefully oneday when the bandwidth constraints change, YT will re-encode.
Testing out my Samsung Neo G9 on this video it looks amazing. This is has to be the highest quality 32:9 HDR video on UA-cam. Thanks for uploading it must of took forever.
After I got 8K HDR working in Chrome your channel became something truly special for me. Having this hour long video playing in front of me while I sketch or read really gives me the outside feels. Thanks
Testing this on the new Samsung OLED G9. It is a thing of wonder and your pristine footage gave me the information I needed to be set on keeping it. Thank you greatly!
man..i splurged on a samsung odyssey g9 and i am so glad i did! I can only imagine what this woudl look like with the neo g9 or oled g9, but i got this for about $700 CAD used..cant beat it
It looks really good on the original g9, just make sure you have updated the firmware and don't be shy changing the settings to make it look best for your eyes.
Yes, I was about to write this too for my G9. However there is a grading of brightness on the left side of the monitor. Do you know, if this problem is known?
@@howtocookazombie I think the HDR on the G9 (none Neo) looks best with local dimming off. I know it sounds crazy, but the normal G9 only has 12 dimming zones. leaving it on means when the zones change brightness it's VERY noticeable. Make sure the windows HRD slider is 80%-100% to the right as well.
@@rakugothdajjal527 The dark area was because the monitor was broken. I got a new one now, that works. I didn't used HDR until now, because I had no monitor that supports it. When I activate HDR in Windows, all colors seems to loose saturation and everything looks like there is a gray shade over it. Is this normal?
@@howtocookazombie Yes, it does make windows itself look a bit off, but in content it looks great. Some games allow you to just turn it on in game, some require you to have it on in windows first then in game. I would definitely play with it because i use it in any game that supports it now. It's also a must to play with the HDR sliders in game till it looks right. Don't forget to keep the windows slider mostly to the right if not maxed as well. Getting close to even 50% in windows makes most things look like garbage. The new Guardians of the Galaxy game looks GREAT in HDR on this thing btw.
@@rakugothdajjal527 Woah, thanks! It looks now more as how the human eye sees things in real-life. Bright light while at the same time details in dark areas and no color bleeding due to over exposure. I can't unsee it now anymore and I hope that this display will never break. Haha
This video with the new 57" G95NC Odyssey Neo G9 240Hz Dual UHD Monitor 2023 is fantastic. Thank you! how did you manage to make a video with this resolution? 😀
Don't get me wrong, this is a really good video, But I do belive there is something a bit wrong about the terminology. In the film industry this would in fact probably be considered "8K" (because the Horizontal resolution is almost 8,000), but outside of the film industry (and to the common consumer) a more accurate terminology would probably be something like "duel 4K" because 8K usually implies a resolution of 7680x4320 (16:9) and greater, which is double the verticle and horizontal pixels (for a total of quadruple the pixels) of 4K, whereas this is just double the horizontal pixels and the same amount of verticle pixels.
You're right, the terminology is not quite consistent. But when I rendered this from the software, I did choose "8K UHD" as the format, and then set the aspect ratio. If you can imagine the black bars above and below that you would see on an actual 16:9 8K display, maybe it would make a little more sense? I saved as 8K because when I uploaded 5120x1440 to youtube, it didn't play back in that resolution (the stream was 1080p). I discovered that I had to upload in 2660p minimally to get it to work properly. But since 8K support is pretty universal, I decided to publish in that. Overkill for now, but who knows, perhaps oneday there will actually be a 32:9 display that is, as you say, two 4K screens side by side.
@@GalacticWarthog I’m sure duel 4K monitors are on the way (eventually, anyway) 8K 16:9 TVs are just starting to hit the market, I don’t see any reason why couldn’t get a duel 4K monitor.
That should be doable, with footage like this. It would take about a day to render it, and then YT would need up to a month to transcode it to 8K HDR / AV1. I don't know what YT would do with 6000x1200 though, it may be safer to use the same aspect ratio but in full 8K, i.e., 7680x1536.
Your other hardware and software has to be capable of displaying 7680x2160 AV1 video, otherwise that option is not available to you. In general, on Windows, use Chrome or Chromium based browser with the AV1 codec downloaded from Microsoft.
Lightroom for initial photo processing, After Effects for flicker reduction and compilation of the timelapse sequences, and then Premiere Pro for final editing.
Unbelievably, it's in East Texas.... An unusually beautiful spot. A small, quiet and mostly undiscovered lake featuring consistently mind-blowing sunsets.
Wish more cinematic movies were shot in 32:9. Tired of 16:9 and I hate that most content these days is 21:9 so we always have these ugly black bars on our screens.
@@moravianlion3108 so when you watch a 4K movie at 2.4:1 aspect ratio, which is only 74% of the full screen, is that not 4K? The convention is that the horizontal resolution defines the 8K label. That’s just the way it is.
@@GalacticWarthog How do you call actual 8k resolution then? 8k+? Don't you think the convention is wrong then? Imagine getting set of tires for a car and getting set of 3, in case of discussed topic here, set of 2. "It's a convention, just buy another set, if you're so fancy!" Let's fix the convention and call it 6k. Which proportionally represents fully this resolution. Not so hard, is it? But corpos will always try to sell you less for more.
@@moravianlion3108 Unfortunately the fact remains that the only way you can see it in full resolution, is on a screen that has 7680 pixel width. Good luck finding a "6K" screen with 7680 width.
