I’ve only been doing this consistently for two months, but in this short time I’ve seen the same thing cause people to fail over and over. Sellers want to jump into selling with both feet instead of steadily growing and learning and investing over time. What this looks like is excitedly purchasing a bunch of items that they did minimal research on, then inconsistently posting items for highest selling price, and failing to organize the items for when they do sell. It’s all a lack of discipline that manifests in different ways. With that in mind, my prayer is that I can learn from others mistakes as well as my own to do it a different way.
I ❤ how you explain how you operate and you take the time to explain good and bad business practice. U continue to stick to ur principles, no matter what! Solid!!
I think it’s to do with the “quick fix” mentality! People start reselling thinking they’ll have success very quickly but it’s a slow process getting the job done. I believe people should have a goal of three months in the business before assessing how they’re going, then, reevaluate. I’m not a reseller, ha! I just want to sell my “sitting books” and get rid of them before my kids have to get bogged down when I die (I’m doing the Swedish Death Cull!) but I watch all the videos!! I’m a fan of resellers - especially Back from Burnout and Aussie Flipper. I love watching to see what they get in hauls and at markets and op shops!! Love seeing how they run their businesses, it’s inspiring. But I still have an opinion / and re your question of why resellers fail - it’s people’s intentions - what do people intend to do with their business? And so.. yep, I think they intend to “kill it” in the first month, get let down, and then leave!! It’s all about perseverance! Look at Mel - look at Matt - they both work hard, persevere, have goals, and keep going when they’re down! (I’m an Aussie). So yep, that’s my answer from a non reseller viewer point of view!!! Thanks tech, I’m here because Mel talks about you a lot in her videos and I think you’re such a great motivator and success story - you come from the grass roots and remain level headed even in greener pastures. What a way to live life, go you!!
Hello from the Grandma from Illinois. Been selling since 1999. Resellers fail because #1 They are not naturally self-motivators; they need to report to an employer OR #2 Lazy
I have a few wholesaler's that that I buy music media from.. I am always there and ready to buy bulk. Money is there and never much negotiation. Whenever I was put into a position of having to bid against another buyer for a bulk lot I have walked away telling them let the other person have it .. I am not interested.. Every Time that has happened the sellers have contacted me on a no bid great deal on a wholesale lot to keep me as a regular customer.
I love this principle/your reaction to the situation with a seller .. I call it the unwritten honor principle (spoken word principle) and I handle situations like this exactly the same.
6:40 well… you obviously need a bigger vehicle - better yet, a pickup + a trailer 😬 - 4 flea markets in as many days sounds exhausting & a blast!! Did you & your wife go? Just found you in my feed recently - appreciate you sharing your knowledge & experience 🤩
Regarding taking pictures of dark items...use a slight grey background! If that exposure doesn't work select exposure on the screen...iphone allows you to see adjustment of exposure live. You can slide exposure + or - to adjust exposure! White backgrounds throw exposures off!
they fail because they aren't consistent, they aren't doing the work day in and day out. I have talked to someone who was trying to do eBay, and he just complained and said that he will never get where I am. He was "oh me oh my", his attitude was all wrong and didn't believe in himself. I gave him plenty of advise that worked for many of us and he never listens. Some people just don't want to make a change.
I reckon people don’t realise what a hard graft it is. Also alot of people are completely clueless about customer service. If your customer service is horrible you won’t last
why fail? in the long term would be giving up...may take a long time to get it all right, to get it to pay off consistently all the time. People give up, want something easier, or that they don't have what it takes to weather ups downs. My thoughts off the bat. Buying is easy (at least for me) and selling - photo, list, storage, ship is harder. For me, the hardest is organization / storage.
Sometimes, they get one or two experiences on eBay. Bad buyers, returns, etc. They get mad and they decide its not worth the BS you sometimes have to deal with online selling
I am going on an 8 day cruise vacation. If I extend my handling time while I am gone will this impact top rated plus status on ebay? Should I use vacation mode instead? Thanks!
1) people believing those fake youtubers that "they will get rich quick", 2) not understanding the COGs, Research the ROI, Understanding the SOC, 3) taking good pictures and listing as soon as possible.
??? I am building a relationship with a wholesale reseller they make large liquidation purchases monthly they have no interest in eBay he mostly does set up at flea markets and roadside. I have made one purchase with him so far for vintage Deadstock new tags Carhartt shorts. I have had great success selling those I listed them as preowned and describe them as dead stock with tags if they had any flaws they were described. He has offered me a deal for 150 pair of Ariat jeans, which is in my niche and my metrics. The jeans are all 2 to 3-year-old dead stock. My question is, should I be concerned about getting my account flagged for listing so many of one brand this way??? any words of wisdom would be helpful I would love to take my business in this direction and it sounds like he has a lot of access to inventory.
Congratulations on a 27 acre property; that's fantastic; so much you can do with it, depending on the area. True, this AI auto stuff is crap. How can the system even allow someone to leave feedback when they have yet to receive the item? Also, how is AI cancelling buyer orders, when AI finds the word 'cancel' in email communication b/w buyer and seller, but not cancelling the order? It's getting more discouraging day by day; but we forge on.
TECH! found some quality jeans today for 6.99 a piece!! 4 pair of CULT of Individuality Jeans that had patches all over them.... Japan selvage jeans . Never heard of them but I knew just by how heavy they are and crazy whiskering , embroidery, stitching etc... .. I hope I use the correct key words so I can get the most money for them. Man there was diesel jeans, Footjoy golf pants like 15 pair all 34X34 levis with tags every jean was 6.99... I only had about 40 dollars so I chose the selvage jeans. And they had 2 pair of EVISU Jeans, but man I felt those could be fake but they looked so weird I thought they were real I passed and got the cults I gotta get my bank roll up so I don't miss easy opportunities,
I think most people failing selling on ebay or any reseller platform comes down to working from home and a lack of accountability and a lack of self-discipline.
I'm from a small town in a low pop. State.......does anyone ever stop and think about this guy?........legitimately? I believe he's a millionaire right? And he spends him ti e educating us for free. If I ever "hit it" there would be signs.......giant foam cowboy hat and foam finger (dumb and dumber reference) and a house in the country w a moat. Lol
@technsports the force is strong w you sir! It has already helped tremendously. Lol. I'm in Sioux falls south dakota if you ever get this way. Dinners on me.

Great take away! Congrats on two months of consistency!

Not sure! lol. Nobody has knocked on the door???
Oh ! Why does no one know bout your Stuff ?

Pretty much nailed it

Every time Tony

Unwritten rules need to be respected in my opinion

Just found you in my feed recently - appreciate you sharing your knowledge & experience 🤩
Yes we hit 4 flea markets and did fantastic. Check out all my videos, lots of helpful info in each!
Thanks for the info sir! Very much appreciated!!
My pleasure thank you for checking out the video

Yes definitely need that off white background.
It comes down the level of self motivation someone has. Listing on a mentally tough day can almost impossible but you gotta find it somewhere downdeep
I agree with you especially if the listing goal is substantial.
Thanks Tech! Always enjoy your content!
Appreciate you Jamie! Thank you!

Most often than not yes
I reckon people don’t realise what a hard graft it is. Also alot of people are completely clueless about customer service. If your customer service is horrible you won’t last
Agreed

100%
For me also , it’s the storage . It’s doable , but by far the most annoying and unpleasant part
Unfortunately a lot of people give up before they can get it figured out
They don't love it enough to weather the trials and tribulations in order to get to the promised land
lack on knowledge, overbuying listing bad items. No drive or desire
Boom
I like to take pictures in one day and daily list at least one.
So long as you can be consistent
Sometimes, they get one or two experiences on eBay. Bad buyers, returns, etc. They get mad and they decide its not worth the BS you sometimes have to deal with online selling
You're absolutely right on this one too! It's tough to deal with
I am going on an 8 day cruise vacation. If I extend my handling time while I am gone will this impact top rated plus status on ebay? Should I use vacation mode instead? Thanks!
It will impact top rated plus until you turn your handling back to one day or less. You will still be top rated
@@technsports thank you!
Thanks!
My pleasure thank you!
Thank you boss 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thank you Z!
Thanks for answering my question, I'll be at that rag house tomorrow..let's see how it goes.
Good luck!

Nailed it
Hi, what time do you go live on Wednesdays. I'm in the UK.
8 PM EST in the USA!
Not buying good, fast selling product!
Super helpful for sure!

There is an increased risk with listing a lot of brand new with tag items. You have consider it
I’m seriously debating taking the retail tags off there’s still enough profit margin even doing that.
You could spread them around on different online platforms and do flea markets as well
Bad stock, death piles and no desire to post.
Boom
… that third one, “no desire to post”, is a killer!
tina_miss_da_meana is in Arkansas, too!!! 😁😁😁
Best name!
Keep the sweaty shirt on with the car recap. they need to see the work. Then change and get your slurpy. Thanks!
😂😂
Not having a schedule or goals.
Definitely!
Back in your thrift store days how many stores did you do per day and how many hours per day did you work?
55 stores a week. 3x a week at the flea market 4:30 am. Saturday and Sunday two flea markets on those days
99 percent of all resellers fail? Really??
Definitely. Stay around for long enough you'll see nobody is left that you once knew
Utah Jazz da best
Miami heat
Great live call very informative
My man!
Lack of quality items
Very helpful to have quality items

AI is great until it's not lol
Is it possible a lot of them moved on to other businesses once they made enough from reselling?
I surely hope so but most likely washed out. Reselling has a very high failure rate
Very helpful
?? Tech: Do resellers who have a you tube following get most of their orders from their followers?
Some do. Some don't. I didn't start UA-cam until after I was winding down my ebay so I am not one who sold to the audience personally
Was that Nick Foles the Brady killer?
He's first in chat killer two times now

Evisu does have some fake. That's okay, pick the best you can afford. Build up the bankroll and build build build
I think most people failing selling on ebay or any reseller platform comes down to working from home and a lack of accountability and a lack of self-discipline.
One of the biggest factors
🐐

??? Is it better to have a store or stay as an individual until you have sustainable profitability?
I think the ebay store can provide some value with all the access to tools and promotions, etc
I missed it...I'm so mad.
Same
Every Weds at 8 PM EST!
