AMS2 1.6 + LFM and Le Mans Ultimate are my favorite new sim racing content of the year. I live in the US and until a year ago I didn’t have any choice for daily online ranked racing in the evenings other than Iracing. One year later and I can race on AMS2, assetto corsa (both on LFM) and Le Mans ultimate with plenty of people in the servers
So happy and proud for Reiza. Now 30 days beyond the 1.6 public release and they're still seeing daily concurrent player peaks of 2,000+ every day. Bring on 2025!
No mention of FIA MotorSports Games ( Sim Racing Olympics). Second installation which now included IRacing and ACC. FIA doubling down on its support for sim racing.
The AMS2 update did it for me. I'm a strictly vr sim racer and nobody does it better than reiza on a 3060 laptop like i have. I'm not convinced ACevo is gonna even run on my equipment, so I'm slightly excited and very skeptical at the same time. Grest job again, Overtake..
Hello. How are you? I also have a laptop with a 3060 and I did not know it could run games on VR. Could you tell me which headset is yours and the performance on other games ? Thanks.
@leandrosouza9875 i had a quest 2 and it ran ams 2 and my quest 3 runs it even better. Honestly it runs all vr games but some look better than others. I had half life alyx running real good on
@@arenam79Sorry for bothering you with all these questions. I never thought I could run a VR headset on a laptop. Thank you very much for all the explanations.
For me the surprise of the year was discovering RaceRoom, after having ignored it all this time. Their touring front wheel driven vehicles are a blast to drive, as well as the Audis, of course. Took advantage of their half-off pricing in content during the Black Friday sale and looking forward to grab Super Touring if it ever goes on sale. Not about to fork out Can$22 for this DLC so I shall wait. Game has some frustrating issues with annoying track limits and dumb AI that loves to ram into your rear. Of course, graphics sucks but hopefully their DX12 update will bring make it less of an eye sore. And AMS2's 1.6 update was better than I expected, it truly drives so much better now, great new IMSA content and looking better than ever. Can't wait for the career mode to be implemented and better GUI too. As is, selecting a vehicle is even harder than pre 1.6. Hopefully this will be addressed soon, as selecting vehicles is confusing and a hassle. Reiza delivered despite the lengthy process but this only proves that they're serious about continuing to make a great game even better.
For Raceroom AI, did you try a fixed strength or the Adaptive AI? Once properly dialled in to your level of performance (by doing some short races with valid laps across different tracks where you will most likely be far ahead or behind at first until the Adaptive AI performance level starts adjusting to you; just keep starting new short races until that happens), the AI should be pretty enjoyable to race and exactly on your level. At least for me I am currently more likely to give them a nudge than vice versa... On a more general note, this Adaptive AI thing in R3E is a bit of a hidden feature in the AI strength dropdown. I am sure other sims also have similar stuff - cool features that the UI doesn't particularly advertise. Wouldn't this be an idea for a video of some point in the future "7 Hidden Features You Didn't Know Your Favourite Racing Sim Actually Had"?
@@andid-42 No, I haven't played RR enough to justify exploring the adaptive AI, although it definitely is in the future plans. If that's a fix for the AI that sees your rear bumper as a target, then yes, absolutely will try it. With my limited time I mostly did a race here and there with the AI at a pre-set number. Found the AI to be robotic, certainly not the "human like" one found in AMS2. But I can live with dull AI, it's when they intentionally take you out by ramming into you from the rear that takes the fun away. I do like the game, just need to spend more time with it. Then again the same can be said for the over half a dozen or so racing titles in the libarary. Gotta make it a new year resolution to somehow increase the number of hours in a day.
Gran Turismo 7 sim racing world championship Nations Cup events were absolutely epic this year. Best racing and Jimmy Broadbent commentary was fantastic! Can't wait for more great Gran Turismo sim racing events and the Formula 3500 car announced at Amsterdam which was missed and not mentioned in video.
Many thanks to the Overtake team for their fantastic review of sim racing in 2024. In 2025, I plan to upgrade to the full CONSPIT ecosystem in anticipation of AC EVO's arrival. Perhaps my PC will also need an upgrade for this, and my wallet is already feeling the pressure!
You and I are truly yet to really get the best sim racer and for me this year I just received a delivery of a logitech g29 and testing honing my skills I have grown acustom to it undoubtedly any sim racer you and me yet to get in 2025 without some sort a prophecy I'm yet to see what I'm capable of.
After summer 2024 and many years of simracing i sold my rig. Started to hate the rig the more i invested into it and transitioned over to a controller and a bit more casual racing. Quite surprised to see ACC was very good to drive on a pad. But also Forza Motorsport was a game i finally tried and the online structure is just so much better than in most hardcore sims. In 1 week i drove on a more varied combination of cars, weather and tracks than in 1k hours in ACC where everything except a few GT3's and Monza, Nurberg and Spa are all that is driven on pub servers. GT4 and the so fun british tracks as well as the GT2's just died out so fast. Haven't taken the time for AMS2 1.6 yet. Honestly just trying to wait with investments until AC Evo opens up. I hope LMU finds an investor. But we are after the Covid Sim boom so we'll see.
How could you go an entire years video and not cover one thing Live For Speed? It's coming up on 25 years and still sets a bar many to try to match. Treat the greats of all time with respect, even the McLaren F1 is still exceptional in the same way.
I'm glad that you covered the TDU: SC situation because that game really turned me down. Although I never ever played the prequels, I always fantasized about enjoying the latest one because of its cinematic trailers back in 2021 but I was very disappointed by the finish product.
This is the problem with ACC, everyone is crying about more tracks, more cars and stuff. But at the end of the day, they are ending grinding at Monza in their only one favourite GT3 car.

@leandrosouza9875 usually I don't touch in game settings. I raise and lower the resolution through the oculus app and ocukus tray tool.

I hope LMU will survive for years to come, AMS2 gets more IMSA content, and Raceroom will continue to get more DTM content

UA-camrs really have to stop with this 'change forever' thing

Like at racing around at the airport in GTA...
At least I saw a few people signing up in GT2 cars in some LFM events the other day :) -Michel
Everybody praising Automobilista 2 and Reiza. Niiiiiiice.
Was there anything from Forxa Motorsport worth covering over 2024? I dont play it so I don't know, but clearly some people do.
They also had a few updates, the coolest one probably the NASCAR Update. An overview: www.overtake.gg/news/categories/forza-motorsport.19/ -Michel
AMS2 all day long the best sim for 2024 and 2025 and on,
What racing would be the best game to get for competitive online play thatw not i racing?
ACC, RaceRoom or AMS2 (LFM) I'd say. GT7 is also good if you are PlayStation user. -Michel
@OverTake_gg Thankyou
Automobilista 2!!! On LFM even better
Asseto Evo will changed sim racing forever in 2025
Glad Fanatec fell flat. Those guys got too comfortable ripping of their customers.
Just too bad Corsair isn't any different...
We still don't know the price off the game with it just over two weeks away!!! Come on kunos break it to me gently 😂😂
