Well, here's my Zangief TAS. Hope you enjoy :D
I apologize if I use the same combos over and over again; I was too distracted in TAS-making, and by the time I realized it, the same combo had been used in each fight :P If you don't like this TAS, I promise the next TAS (T. Hawk) will be better :P
On another note: I had already finished another Zangief TAS, but something happened during recording, and I had to start all over again Oh well :P - Ігри

its nice they gave Zangief that hand move which enables him to move forward quicker.. since he was too hard to use in the older games he needed a move like that to make him faster.

Banishing Hand is a must for serious Zangief players in tournaments, since a majority are all shoto players. Old Sagat would give Gief a very hard time because of the speed and recovery of his tiger shots.

Este es un TAS, no lo ha hecho de manera 100% legal, el usa save states y herramientas para poder pelear bien (pero no usa codigos)
Se Nota que ha Usado Cheats "hacker" para ser invencible y no le caiga los Golpes..

I was planning on making HD versions of these TAS videos, but I have been delayed due to school and other stuff, unfortunately.
The next upcoming HD TAS will be a Fei Long TAS. After that, who knows?

Late comment but I'm curious; how and why Dhalsim bot just stands still doing nothing? It's TAS of course but I'd like to know what affects AI in that way.
In TAS'es and in real-time playthroughs/speedruns, the AI "generally" acts in particular manners when you use an attack and/or a jump direction.
For example, in this TAS, in this particular fight, Dhalsim's AI wanted to walk up to me after those first few combos in Round 1. This isn't planned 100%; if I reloaded the TAS another day, if I repeated this combo, Dhalsim could've just simply attacked me at close range instead of standing there.
In Round 2 of the Dhalsim fight, notice that I walked back and forth really quickly after knocking Dhalsim down. Again, this is different than Round 1 because, at first, I decided to simply stand there and see what Dhalsim would do. As it turns out, for most of the reloads, Dhalsim chose to either use a fireball or attack from long range. As such, I had to slightly "alter" his behavior by walking back and forth. Each CPU AI reacts differently to each character you use, and also reacts differently depending on the distance, the moves/jumps that you do against it. By performing a move/jump/etc for "X" amount of frames at a specific distance "Y" while holding a specific "Z" direction, this allows for TAS makers to make the AI in any game in general act "silly", or manipulate it so that the TAS goes along more smoothly or more fun, depending on the category :P

Hah thanks! Looking back at these old TAS videos I did, I can definitely say that I need to work a bit more on, well, everything lol.
There are some things I'll always do in each TAS video, such as spamming attacks (Light Punch/Kick, etc.), Unique walking patterns, etc. If I get a chance to work on another TAS, I'll probably opt for a Chun-Li one, then Cammy, then perhaps Dee-Jay again.
Hey, its awesome, then again I never was a fan of perfectionism, it lacks the human element, as no human is nor will ever be perfect.
To this day I have beaten the game twice (By that, I mean not losing any Rounds, fighting Akuma and defeating him), with Balrog and Blanka. Unfortunately, I didn't get a chance to record either of these runs, the first due to me not having a capture card, the second with me thinking "Eh, I'm not gonna get too far, so I won't record lol".
I have beaten the game before, though, with T. Hawk, Fei Long and Dee Jay and such, but not on a "good" run like with Balrog and Blanka.
damn. even in the easy difficulty this game is hard.

I really wish Capcom had done more with this game. It would've been a really nice touch if, during the single-player game, it would randomly pick a game mode and color for the computer opponent instead of going with the _Super Turbo_ assortment. But then again, I suppose this game was made less for that and more for competitive play.
Shame the broken-ass _World Warrior_ boss characters aren't playable...
+Joseph Collins Yeah, that does sound awesome, kinda like how Alpha 3's Dramatic Battle and such makes the opponents differ in their Isms selection.
I have seen some AR/GS stuff that lets you play as the Boss Characters (SNES and Arcade), but like you said, it would've been nice to do that in this game too!

It's Hyper Street Fighter 2, where every version of every character from Sf2 is playable.
What "tools" are being used here? And why?
Only the owner of the video would know. One reason is to show that these combos are possible and can be performed. Think of it as a combo training video and a tutorial on how to beat each character.

Tool assisted speedruns are ran on emulators in slow motion, with rewinds and save states. They are designed to be the best you could do with frame perfect skills. They're not using stuff like game genies or anything like that, and they can be reproduced on the real hardware, just not by humans.

Banishing Flat (commonly referred to as "Green Hand") is performed in most other SF games with the Shoryuken input.
In Super Turbo (or HSF2), it's performed by inputting forward > down + punch.
If you're talking about the Spinning Lariat, it's either triple punch or triple kick.
In this kind of "version" you can do either half circle backwards or like dragon punch move i have this verion and i tried both..either one both works in "super turbo mode"

How to do 720° and don't jump?
+cesarhenrxr First of all, this is tool assisted.. so you can basically input all types of moves withing the fraction of a second. The character wouldn't have the time to jump before the move is executed.
Secondly, you can "mask" a difficult throw input by pressing the buttons during a jump (right before you land), or during a move (maybe spinning lariat or a kick).

Well, i can write what i've read many places. People say it is actually possible to play like a "tas" is played, but it is just very, very difficult. If you use a stick as a controller, a 720 may be possible, but idk. You get my point.
Whiff a Banishing Flat, then link it to 720.
And another thing: you don't actually have to turn the stick a full 360/720. You can do a 270/630. Just be sure to start turning from forwards or backwards.
Playing on the easiest level with a joystick doesn’t count bro

Idk what tas means, but I've been to a lot of videos saying tas. It seems like a cheat, where as the enemies can't touch you and you are invincible. I didn't wanna believe it until I looked up zangief tas. He's gotta get hit a lot, due to his size and slow mobility. So this proves that tas is a cheat. Just wanted to clarify it with Zangief, thank you. Btw nice play with zangief. Try without the cheats
