I likely missed a few accelerations. Feel free to point them out to make me feel miserable.
Accelerator Info:
It allows movement faster than the naked eye can track.
The Accelerator can allow you to travel faster than sound at minimum, and way beyond the speed of light at best.
Normal humans can't handle accelerated speed due to friction.
The Accelerator has multiple modes to increase speed.
The Accelerator accelerates consciousness.
The Accelerator has a limiter.
Pushing the Accelerator to its limit risks the user breaking down.
Normal clothes will burn up upon entering acceleration mode.
Using a damaged Accelerator will cause your body to move faster than you can control it.
A malfunctioning accelerator will re-calibrate itself.
In Acceleration Mode, users can't hear, due to being faster than sound.
There's a special hum that's audible when Acceleration Mode is used.
It's possible to stab and shoot a cyborg in Acceleration Mode without having to move at that speed.
Observations:
Duration of Acceleration Mode seems to be based on the outside flow of time, not the flow of time for the user. Otherwise, 009 would've timed out in "Frozen Time" due to some concern.
The fastest the Accelerator has been known to move its user seems to be at least approximately 8.64*10^6 times faster than normal; it took 10 days for Francoise to blink, the average blink being a tenth of a second, meaning that those in acceleration mode have their time flow at least 9 million times faster than outside of it. In simple terms, a single second for an outside observer is basically 100 days for a person in acceleration mode.
The Accelerator likely comes with a mobility function that lets him drop to the ground while accelerated, otherwise jumping while accelerated would just end up making him being stuck in mid-air, since he can only fall because of the downward force by gravity, which takes time to bring you down to the ground. It's possible that Joe can fly a little in Acceleration Mode because of that.
Sonic attacks are completely useless against anyone in Acceleration Mode because, well, they're traveling faster than sound.

Was looking for the one in the episode where 009 has to prevent a soccer player using acceleration to kick an iron ball into a prime minister of some country. Think it was Brazil :)
The animation and art style still holds up to this day. Impressive.

if i remember in the final episode his acceleration went beyond time and space.
now imagine joe vs adam smasher, smasher would be scrapped before he could even use his sandy.
I love how this version kept the original chara from the 70s series, but with high quality animation.
ashida design was at his peak when he worked with ishinomori and tezuka.
going back to that, with all extra 30 years of experience and extra tech was the best call he could have done
I remember this and Astro Boy 2003 as my first anime that I watch, though I remember 009 very vividly. How times flies.
This was actually the first anime I ever watched in my life. I think I still have the dvd in my old house somewhere, but man this brings back memories. I even tried mugu gai pan after that one episode JUST because of this show.

急に時間が止まったくらいに加速してしかも自分の体に負担もないものだから何事かと思った
009って汎用性に優れすぎているよな。性能では格上の相手にも立ち回れるのも凄い。
It's sad to think that no anime produced in this era will ever have this level of quality length and production.
every single studio now just wants to make 12 episodes for an anime, focus 90% of the art on making the eyes as colorful as possible, then calling it quits and a job well done.
Blame that on the execs and the non-existent budgets, the artists would be willing to work harder probably if the job didn't pay pennies, but since the yen crash the budgets allowed to modern animation have only shrunk. High quality anime thrived in the 80's through 2000's because of yen boom money and now it's all gone.
I don't know. There's still a few anime that earned their place at the top with this one.

Like the world from a speedster perspective? The new Cyberpunk 2077 does that a bit. And in a kind of unique style. As a character moves their previous frames remain creating a neat effect.

the prototype of kamen rider Kabuto's clock up system.
Cyborg 009 *did* debut before Kamen Rider, so if Ishinomori's interconnected universe does exist, it would be plausible that the Accelerator would be the predecessor to the Clock Up System.

映像化された事で一部では有名ですな。只、本放送時は作画崩壊とか言われるほど一部の話の質が酷かったりするが、
後の円盤化で修正が入ってるので今から見る分には問題ないかと

I don't understand the "stuck in acceleration" part, we can clearly see that acceleration mode makes you move faster so that things appear to move slow but never in a standstill, the very first moments and other moments have bullets and water droplets clearly falling but just very slowly, yet somehow the "stuck in acceleration" episode shows acceleration mode as this super fast near light speed movement where everything seems to stop.
it's meant to play with the concept of being frozen in a single moment of time

it was a one-off ability which was used to tell the story of someone essentially frozen in time

If I remember the episode correctly. The note the doctor was writing was to explain to Joe that due to the repairs when he woke up his acceleration mode would be in an overclocked state while his systems reset themselves. @@razi_man

まあ、物理学的にみておかしい話は・・・、一応言っておこうか。飛び降りちゃいけない。アレは重力加速度の話だから、加速しててもゆっくりとしか降りて行けいない（本人の意識ね）。
加速装置を使うと、運動性能は上がるが、全ての物理学的力学は残るので、例えば曲がろうとすれば相当な慣性を受けることになるし、前述の通り、下方向には下方に蹴らない限り加速しない。結構めんどうなのよSFを描こうとすると。
I personally feel that the Accelerator has the ability to also propel the user upward and downward to account for gravity, but it's true it's not accounted for in the anime.
