- Hi Aquamigos! In this video I buy more supplies for my koi pond's diy filter and retaining wall! I bought four 32 gallon Brute trash cans, which I will use to build my bio filter chambers, and some concrete wall caps to finish off the top of my pond's retaining wall. Slowly but surely I am moving on with this project! Let me know what you think!

Thanks Aquamigo! Those barrels will be nice for your filtration. Originally I wanted to use those plastic blue Uline barrels, but they were pretty expensive

Awesome video Tobias them coping stones look really smart on top of the pond .. and look forward to seeing how you do your bins .. I dug my pond out at weekend and done a concrete slab was a lot of work.. my garden is not big and I have so much dirt in the garden to sort out there roughly 6-7 tonnes lol I’m still recovering 🤣 look forward to your next video 🙌🏼 bud

Hey Aquamigo, I wonder how well putting mortar under the coping stones would work…🤔 I found a guy selling the blue 55 gal plastic drums for $25. ea. I think I’ll get 4 or 5.
I thought about doing mortar too. I'm pretty sure that should work fine. I kind of just felt like the glue would be easier haha. That's a great deal for those blue plastic drums! I saw on the Uline website that they cost $82

Yeah, I would maybe ask them what the barrels were used for before. I would be a little worried in case they were holding something toxic or some kind of acid or something. I'm not sure how easy it would be to sterilize them if they were holding chemicals

you mentioned Green water in your pond. I found UA-cam videos by Ozponds amazing as I'm designing my pond too. Maybe whiz over and check The "Home made pond filters" video by him.
Oh yes I have seen his videos! They are really good. I know how to fix the green water, but I just haven't gotten around to it yet 😅
