Once you’re done with the albums/EPs, please react to some of her live performances as well. My personal recommendations are : God is a Woman @P3 Live (Ariana Grande cover) It Happened Quiet (Live at Nidarosdomen) Conqueror (Live From The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon)
A lot of her songs are even better live. They carry so much emotion. Try ua-cam.com/video/XXVwFvkNTEg/v-deo.html It's an hour concert, cool show. And my favorite recording of queendom: ua-cam.com/video/uM8Wqfv5Jw8/v-deo.html&start_radio=1
Aurora said in an interview that she's continuously writing an album to be released after she passes so she can 'say something to the world after she's gone'. I believe she also said she's writing a song about/from each decade of her life, so she has 2 songs on that album already...
Aurora is absolutely the queen of write fictions story that are actually not so fictions!! (Lol) SHE is the real telling story queen! Btw when you realises that gentle earthquake is about sex is when you realises that she is a fucking genius of write musics with many meanings (like she also did in it happend quiet and murder song)
Anyone notice in the first song “Runaway” of her first album, it says “now take me home” and the last song “Mothership” of the last album says “you are home”
I think it firstly refers to “come on let us take you home”, and “mothership will take you on higher” from “a different kind of human” in the same album :).
9:20 If you haven't watched "Once Aurora" yet, the documentary of after her first album was released, her tour, and her writing of this album, I'd check it out. ua-cam.com/video/JTYXwKfOvnw/v-deo.html Step I and Step II were written as a 16 track album. The record label wanted to take advantage of a good thing and break it apart, against what her and her manager wanted... at least initially. I think breaking them apart was probably a good move in the end. After putting together the original 16 track album, and between the two albums being released, she seemed to have added a few additional songs for the second album, bringing the total up to 19 tracks between the two. I definitely think this EP is her best "album", but there are some incredible tracks on Step II and The Gods We Can Touch. The song "A Different Kind of Human" is probably one of the most emotional songs I've ever heard. I've seen so many people burst into tears in their reaction to that song. Her live performance of it at 'Somehwere Else Festival" was definitely the most powerful version. ua-cam.com/video/QPQ0zSVzod0/v-deo.html
Hey Beautiful!......you're back........great pick!........and I haven't finished this reax yet, but the way you started it blew my mind....so i'll just sit back relax and watch this with a lot of gusto..........you are becoming a Warrior yourself so that measns I have to welcome you to the Queendom..........
Every time when I hear “In happened quite” I’m remembering the moment of my life when I felt like I’m just died. That moment was the moment of my biggest trauma. And it happened quite.
If you really want to connect to aurora then you have to react to her live, as a performer there is no one that comes close to how this girl performs, aurora live is better than any videos of her she is outstanding she is in one word GENIUS.
When you are done with the album, you should really watch her perform live - it is an experience not to be missed. She totally pours herself into the music - becoming the music itself. I don't know if you react to videos, but it would be so great to see you discover her live performances of songs you already know and love. The concert at Nidorasdomen Cathedral is amazing, also the KEXP, and Haik concerts. Even if you don't share it with us, you really should watch them for your own enjoyment - you won't regret it. She also does some incredible covers: God is a Woman - Ariana Grande Teardrop - Massive Attack Life on Mars - David Bowie Believer - Imagine Dragons Across the Universe - John Lennon
I can't get over the image that it happened quiet is about an assault. Like the victim of an assault crying and coming back to haunt the place where she was hurt....especially with together churchyard
ahhhh i was so excited when i saw this video pop up you have no idea. also, the strange bit in gentle earthquakes, when reversed, plays a choir singing what sounds like "we wake up"! there's also a part at the beginning and end of the song, which says "the weight upon my shoulders" in reverse, and this may or may not be a line from a song on step ii :)
Requests: Kacey Musgrave’s (Golden Hour specifically, since it’s her biggest) and Ingrid Andress’s debut Lady Like! She’s nominated for best new artist, country album and song - she’s more of a pop country kind of sound though. She’s got a bunch of A+ Sad Girl Songs™️ imo in case anyone wants to cry lol.
Stunning work of art omg But also a request, you should react to Ben Howard's End of the Affair, but the studio version not the live, listen to it with a good speaker up loud and you better lay down because it's intense and extraordinary and heartbreaking regardless of whether you can understand the lyrics. I'm so glad when I first heard it I was laying on my bed in the dark with the music enveloping me and basking in the intensity
Infections of a Different Kind of Human was one complete album (obviously 2xLP on vinyl) Aurora decided to release the first half early digitally, and the record company was quick to be like that's an EP not an album, because most artists are contracted to release a specified number of albums, and they didn't want this album to be viewed legally as 2 of her contractual obligations.
I feel the same way when listening to AURORA. I feel like I'm floating and I know everything and go ahead and give me my tin hat but i think aurora is not human like shes human.... but she's not.... like she is in touch more than most people its crazy. when i first listened i felt like she is magic. she just is MAGIC.
All of these songs are SPECTACULAR live. I highly recommend you look at them on your own personal time if not react to them here. The first KEXP concert from 2 years ago and the Niderosdomen concerts are really notable here.
You're so right about the theraputic experience. Being at the concert for Step 1 and 2 was transcendent. I cried and danced and wanted to mosh so much. It was the most exceptional experience of my life so far. Then 2 months later I went to see Babymetal and had the same experience again, but intensified, and I could actually mosh as much as I wanted. Can you react to Babymetal as well?
Wow, your ranking is very different from mine! Mine would be: 1. It Happened Quiet 2. All is Soft Inside 3. Infections of a Different Kind 4. Forgotten Love 5. Churchyard 6. Queendom 7. Gentle Earthquakes 8. Soft Universe Getting to the rankings is usually one of my favorite parts of your videos, because I get to compare them to my own rankings lol
Aurora don't just say "I love you" she stated that the only thing she knows for sure it's that universe it's wild, and that after u show her what love really is you are capable of make just for her a soft universe... I mean that's just beautiful put and you only get it if you heard the album in order or at least all is soft inside before listening to soft universe
The Seed is probably my least favorite Aurora song... I love the message but the chorus is absolutely not it for me. Shame because the verses and bridge are amazing. Also, every time people tell her she is going to love something, it ends up on the bottom of her list, like It Happened Quiet
This album is such a poetic masterpiece: Queendom was written after Aurora's trip in Latin America. It's a song that celebrates differences between people and is meant to be a "safe place" for everyone. Forgotten love is about the beauty of not being in love and appreciating the feeling of being alone. Gentle Earthquakes is about s*x and All is soft inside is about the inner world of introverts and also more specifically about autism. It happened quiet is about murder or r*pe. Chyrchyard is about an abusive relationship and Soft Universe is about the pain of living.
wasn't forgotten love about letting go? I think she talked about it in an interview when she said she felt sad when she used to forget people she loved that had died
@@bannboleo she actually is too. i don’t remember where i saw it but i heard she was autistic as well....you can search it up if you’d like and prove me wrong though
Churchyard is about an abusive relationship. "He told me I could leave, but I wouldn't get far" "He closed all the windows, as his anger broke free" "hate followed him gently, black seized in his heart, whos tearing the love in him apart?" "Please remember me and cry". When he tells her she belongs in a churchyard, he's telling her she'll be in a grave if she leaves
Hate followed him gently, plant seeds in his heart. Roots' tearing the love in him apart... I think that's the correct lyric, please don't get me wrong.
“He told me I belong in a churchyard” also refers to Hamlet. After being rejected by Ophelia(hamlets former lover), hamlet snaps, calls her a whore and tells her she belongs in a convent. From that perspective, it is also a comment on the legacy of the patriarchy and how men have silenced woman in scorn.
@Alisa White she did say that this song is a continuation of "murder song", from her debut. but aurora's songs are really meant to have different interpretations, i gotta say that. this song could be about rape, or suicide. who knows?
If you interpret it literally, someone threw their lover out of a window and killed her, and then her ghost came back to haunt his bed. But it does call to mind both murder and abusive relationships as well as r*pe. I think Aurora has talked about both types of interpretations?
fun fact: during her live performances she'll sometimes change the ending lyrics on the IOADK track to "this is the breath, We are the breath" which always causes me to burst into tears so
It Happened Quiet is connected to Murder Song and it’s 8 tracks long because her favourite numbers are 8 and 11. The 8th song on each album is her favourite.
the intro from “Gentle Earthquakes” samples reversed lyrics from one of the songs from Step II, titled “Animal”. It says: “with a goddess...” and “weight upon my shoulders felt...” (Animal, 2019).
She said somewhere that It Happened Quiet was written as a prequel to Murder Song, which she insists isn't about domestic violence, but is a very tragic love story. Still, as art is open to interpretation, both songs could easily fit into that frame of narrative.
Honestly, Aurora is the closest thing to a goddess, not because I see her as inhuman or something higher than human, but because she represents humanity as a sound and feeling that reminds me what humans are capable of. That out of body feeling where you are victim to the waves of emotion and raw note manipulation is not abnormal regarding Aurora. Her voice and capacity for human depth through song and lyrics are quite a feat. It's why I love her so much, she believes in humanity and never fails to show me why I matter to the world. Her music video "The Seed" was the first thing I ever saw from her and from that moment I was transfixed. "The Seed" Music Video is still the best music video I have ever seen and that has never changed. I do hope react to that because truly it is why I came to love her music. Many of her fans call her Mother Nature and hat out of body experience you get listening to her as she describes things of beauty and displaying points of view is something worth truly loving.🥰
@carnivall ah, looked up that word real quick. To some degree you may be right on that, but I will say I don't really have that idolizing image towards her. It's more along the lines of 'I know she is different than how she is on screen, but on screen this is the vibe she gives off'. Perhaps that only pushed parasocial vibes anyway. I just really love how music can make you feel, especially the ones that viscerally resonate with you and make you want to move. Maybe it's my maladaptive daydreaming that amplifies that feeling since I physical move and am stuck in imagery that music provides me? I'm not sure fully, but I guess I am now aware of parasocialism now so thank you? Haha

I don’t know if you would be open to reacting to a concert by her, but her concerts Haik and live at Nirodesomen (however its spelt) are truly stunning and an ethereal experience, especially Infections of a different kind (the song) live at Haik. Takes the breathe away from me
Queendom is THE song for me. I fuckin' love it. And loved it since the release date (it was also the first song I've heard from Aurora). Also, The River and Animal from ADKOH are such masterpieces.

Haha

Aurora's Runaway inspired Billie's Ocean Eyes
I hope more people will appreciate Aurora and other non- mainstream artists.
Aurora in churchyard be like:
Words pointy like arrows
Wounds no one can see
He closed all the windows
As his anger broke free
I will not remember
You as somebody nice
Please, will you remember me
And cry
heavily talking about domestic violence
and all of us like:
🕺🕺"he told me I belong in the churchyard" 💃🕺🕺
I CLICKED SO FFFFF HARD, DAMN
I don’t know if you would be open to reacting to a concert by her, but her concerts Haik and live at Nirodesomen (however its spelt) are truly stunning and an ethereal experience, especially Infections of a different kind (the song) live at Haik. Takes the breathe away from me
you’re going to LOVE step 2
wouldnt mind watching the whole Nidorosdomen concert with you. only about an hour long, and id beautiful!

I still think u should react to Aurora’s cover of Life On Mars
Queendom is THE song for me. I fuckin' love it. And loved it since the release date (it was also the first song I've heard from Aurora). Also, The River and Animal from ADKOH are such masterpieces.
Omg same i was properly introduced to Aurora with queendom and i fell in LOVE
you will not survive A Different Kind of Human (song)
Not all of us waiting for her to be WRECKED by It Happened Quiet and she being ✨unaffected✨. We are clowns lmao 💀💀💀

Wow. I need to check her out!! Never listened to her music before
please make the reaction of "A Different Kind of Human (Step 2)"
I am 49 years old and have listened to so much music in my life so far and hearing Aurora is an experience I never had with any other artist. She is very very special and I hope she remains true to herself throughout her career and I do believe she will.
When you’re all caught up with her you should react to her live (Full Haik concert live is the one), she’s so good!! Also please react to Baby Rose I love her. 🥺
To add context, she’s in a forest and it’s very close quarters/a small audience and it is TRANSCENDING I love it I recommend everyone check it out 🥰
Imagine her listening to The River and The Seed
