Scream 2 is very underrated. One of the best sequels to a franchise!
It's underrated now, but when it came out, most people thought it was equally good or better than the first one. Hating on this movie just got trendy on the last few years.

I always took it that after Dewey’s sister was killed he became protective over Sidney as an older brother type
And the years they were friends before Maureen’s death. I’m sure he watched her grow up with Tatum somewhat
The scene where Sidney was practicing for the play & saw ghost face was real. She wasn’t hallucinating, he was really there. You can see him actually run off when she screamed
That whole scene starting with the teacher pep talk is one of my favorite scenes. It’s so different than anything I’d really seen. I really liked Sid and getting to know her felt like something we didn’t get much in newer slashers.
Nancy Loomis, Billy's mother, sorta gave a hint earlier when - as Debbie Salt - she told the other reporters that "... if the killer's repeating what happened in Woodsboro, then the killer might be from Woodsboro... that's all."
Even Randy gave a hint, when he told Dewey that "Miss Vorhees was a fantastic killer", or something like that.
There was a lot more Mickey in the movie and more Mickey hints. Theres a deleted scene where the friend group makes a little Sidney watch sorta thing and when shes at the theater she runs into Derek and asks about Mickey. Mickey switched shifts with Derek so he could be the theater ghostface. Theres also a deleted scene where theyre talking about the killer being left handed (which is why Mrs. Loomis moves the gun to her left hand after killing Mickey) and its pointed out that Mickey is left handed and also that Hallie is because at one point she was going to be a killer.
I love the line, “I got _my_ money, I asked for _your_ money.”

I’m 100% with her. If we’re going on a date and I’m seeing a movie that I have 0 interest in… for _you,_ then you bet your ass you’re buying my snacks. lol
Sarah Michelle Gellar is an icon and Buffy’s the Vampire Slayer is one of the best tv shows

Fun Fact: Robert Rodriguez directed the movie-within-a-movie "Stab" scenes.
Cappella Audition Fact: Actors who auditioned for the part of Derek were asked to perform the scene in the cafeteria in which Derek sings "I Think I Love You" cappella. The role of Derek ultimately went to Jerry O'Connell.
Location Location Fact: Windsor College in Ohio, the setting of the movie, is a fictional university. The actual filming locations varies between several different colleges, but the majority of the scenes were filmed at Agnes Scott College in Georgia and UCLA in California.
Insane Script Handling Fact: The plot twists were all a matter of top secrecy throughout production. The screenplay was heavily guarded and restricted to only the most crucial personnel. Certainly none of the cast knew how the film ended, as the last ten pages were withheld from them. Consequently, when the first forty pages of the script were leaked onto the Internet, Kevin Williamson was forced to do some hasty re-writes. This meant that the film went into production without a completed script. The cast were not informed of the identity of the killer until the last day of principal photography. Also, the cast did not receive the last ten pages of the shooting script until it was time to film the scenes contained therein. Furthermore, the last ten pages of the shooting script were printed on gray paper in order to deter illicit duplication of them. All cast members were required to sign confidentiality clauses as parts of their respective contracts that precluded them from discussing the outcome of the story and the killer's identity.

I’m so happy to see your continuing the series. For me, there’s always (when there’s 2 killers) 1 obvious killer, and then one I didn’t see coming. Mickey was very obvious to me. And to answer your question about “Why Cici?” I’m sure there’s more than one Casey on campus, but she butted against all of Mickey’s opinions in film class. Another man with a fragile ego. That’s my guess anyway.
Scream 2 is easily the best sequel in what is a continuously solid franchise.
I like how the movie they made is not accurate: Casey was not taking shower; she was friendly to the killer in the begining of the call, unlike the actress in the movie.
The actress playing Drew's character is Heather Graham.
Because of this movie I will never put my ear up to a bathroom stall again lol

There is actually a huge reaction community for Buffy here on UA-cam. I watch almost every reactor I can find who does it and know others do the same. I know you really do movies, but something to consider. And it’s SO good.
Scream 2 is a fantastic sequel, screams 2 and 4 always fluctuate as my second favorite behind the original.
Can't wait to get through the series. Loving it.

This is my favorite of the "Scream" sequels. And in my top 5 favorite movie sequels.
I keep forgetting that Timothy Olyphant is in this one. I like the twist that not only his character Mickey was one of the killers, but the other killer was Billy's mother.

Buffy was suppose to be more in scenes but due to scheduling being hard for her because she was working on buffy and people behind scream 2 saying she was difficult to work with she was cut out of some scenes. She said she’s not difficult to work with but just takes her roles very serious.
It’s pretty much impossible for me to pick a favorite out of the Scream franchise. I’m constantly bouncing between three of the movies and Scream 2 is the one that tends to come out on top for me the most!
I just love _everything_ about it! Now, there are TONS of reasons why I love any and all of the Scream movies in general but for Scream 2 in particular, I was around for, and part of, the MAJOR hype for it in the lead up to its release in theaters and it was so, SO much fun!!
I also love that there’s actually some diversity in it. I know that having 4 black characters isn’t exactly the most diverse casting ever, but I’ll take it, especially when considering what we got in 3, 4, and 1. For whatever reason, even as a little white kid living in the middle of nowhere, rural USA in the 90s, I’ve always *loved* racially diverse casts. Still do! But I digress. lol.
And speaking of casting, I was one of the MANY people who were OBSESSED with Buffy The Vampire Slayer (It’s truly an incredible show that I highly recommend you watch. If you happen to somehow have time to do so, you could even react to the series on your channel as there _is_ an audience out there for BTVS reactions!) _and_ Sarah Michelle Gellar. So the fact that she was in Scream 2 gave it HUGE brownie points from me!
There are other reasons why Scream 2 is always in contention for my fav of the franchise but I’ve already rambled on way too much about that. lol.
As for the other two contenders, I’ll keep it short and sweet.
Obviously there’s the original Scream because… duh. IMO it’s pretty damn brilliant! Plus, how could someone love a franchise so much but not also completely love the first installment, which perfectly started it all off?!
And then the third is Scream VI. I’m really not gonna say much about it since it’s still coming down the pipeline for you. lol. But I will say that, IMHO, it’s the most fun to watch out of all of them. (Which is a HUGE feat!) It’s really just incredible, tense scene after incredible, tense scene all tied together pretty well! (Again, to _me_ anyway!)
Sorry for the Ted Talk. Sometimes I get stoned and can’t shut the F up in UA-cam comments. It’s a real problem. lol.

While Debbie Salt as a killer is a surprise, i will say they actually do sprinkle in several clues that it could be Billy's mom. As someone else said in the comments, Debbie comments that the killer could be from Woodsboro. When Randy and Dewey are talking about killers, Dewey says killers are usually men, but Randy comments that Mrs Voorhees ( Spoiler Alert!!!! : a mother, killing in revenge for her dead child) was a great killer. When we see the clip of the Stab movie on TV it is a reinactment of the hallway argument from the 1st movie where Billy references his mom leaving town. Dewey and Gale point out that the killer should be at the scenes of the crimes and who is at the scene of every crime? A journalist like Debbie Salt. Also, as discussed in the movie, there is the brutality of Randy's death after he badmouths Billy, calling him a Mama's boy.
I also loved your comment about if Sydney would have done any damage to Mickey with that necklace. I actually was a teenage girl in the late 90s and early 2000s. In college we were told that if a person attacked us, one of the things we should do is slash at their face ( specifically their eyes) with a sharp edge of a necklace or our house or car keys. It makes sense that Sydney would have received similar training.

Also there are two 'Ghostfaces' in the bathroom when Phil enters in the opening and a reporter on TV when Nancy is killing Randy in the van. Plus you can guess there are in indeed two killers again when CiCi is talking on the phone with the killer while Ghostface enters the dorm and when Gale and Dewey are watching the tapes, Ghostface 1 appears up there with the camera and Ghostface 2 is hidden under the desk to pop out to attack Gale. I love how all Scream movies are very thought through with details like these!
I LOVED all the Scream films,saw them all at the cinema. I was in the army,stationed at Ft Hood,Tx ( it's renamed Ft Caravos now )took a-FINE-female soldier ( who was new to the unit )to see this film and the comments she made during the film had me in stitches !!! LOL. So,I had to make her mine,which I did.

I’ve already left you two comments because I’m a crazy person, lol, but I wanted to inform you of this separately…
There’s a good chance that you’ve already deduced this due to Mrs Loomis being revealed as one of the killers. (Though I don’t think that we really see her in action much aside from Randy’s kill and her chase with Gale/Dewey’s “death”.)
But just in case you haven’t, in the Scream franchise, you really can’t figure out who the killer is based on their size in the ghostface costume. This is by design as it would quickly rule out far too many people if you’re perceptive enough.
It’s the only kinda “magical element” in the entire franchise (Thank God. lol.) and really it’s just a “suspension of disbelief”. Essentially, everyone is basically 6 or so feet tall when they put on the mask and robe and, at the end of the day, it’s like that for our and enjoyment/to make the movies more fun/exciting.
I just like to point this out to folks reacting to the franchise for the first time so that they aren’t wasting all of their time comparing ghostface’s height/size to his victim’s, since it helps not at all.
Anyway, I’m excited to watch you react to the rest of the franchise! It’s my fav! I also promise to stop leaving comments on this video like a weirdo. lol.
The thing with the guy on the hood of the car. Yeah he was desperately trying to hang on but he was also trying to not hit the girls in the back seat
When Gale meets Debbie she tells her that she looks very familiar. The hints are kind of there to a point. Mickey would hint that C.C. Disagreed that sequel films are not superior to the original. We know Mickey went after and killed the characters who aren't legacy characters and Debnie went after and killed the Legacy characters. Mickey and The friend are both left-handed so there is another hint because the killer held the knife in his left hand. The killer is always at the scene and when the killer plays their tapes is a hint because the only people walking around with a camera are Mickey and the Cameraman. You'll pick up on the hints after a few rewatches when you are focusing and looking for them instead of getting caught up in the amazing film that Scream 2 is.

Actually it was supposed to be the two main sorority sisters, the boyfriend and the roommate. But the script leaked online and they had to change the whole movie on the fly.

@@NewfieMovieReactions It was release in 97 so probably filmed in 96. The internet was still pretty knew back then. I don't think they ever said for sure or even confirmed it actually happened but someone probably just got their email hacked. Either that or someone got a physical copy and put it on the internet. They low key make fun of scripts leaking in the third movie. You won't catch if you don't know this happened.
I would absolutely give Buffy a shot. The first season is a little shaky, but the second season is honestly some of the best TV I've ever seen. The spin-off Angel is well worth it as well, though it has its ups and downs too

Scream 3 is my 2nd favorite of the franchise, not a fan favorite but they had many problems on set and had to change the script a billion times and it's just fun, I see why most think it'd the worst but you can't take it seriously and I enjoyed it

Nice sequel. The worst part about it, "Base ion the Book by Gail Weathers". She is always looking out for herself, first. The worse part, for real, they say that this movie only had 1 Killer, not like in the first. I say the Killers were Mickey and Billy Loomis's Mother. That is 2. Mickey helped the mother through the whole movie, until She kills him. I say movie 1 AND 2 had 2 killers. Agree or disagree? Nice post BY THE WAY.

Enjoyed your reaction to my least favourite of the first four. There's some excitement at the end, but the elements I liked most about the first movie were the characters and humour. 2 just seemed to be lacking in charismatic characters with screen time (which got chewed up by action.) and overly dour. Gale and Dewey mostly get on my nerves. Derek I find boring. The roommate and SMG are ok, but don't get enough to do. Randy and Cotton are more interesting, to the extent that being aggrieved is interesting. The Mrs is annoying despite having little to do or say. Mickey's character has some charisma and got an ok end, but...meh. Anywho, still enjoyed this. 👍
I absolutely love the Buffy. The vampire Slayer TV show the movie was okay. The show was a million times better. Usually if there is a show and a movie I would say the movie is better. But in the case of this one no the show is 100 times better

Be prepared. Scream 3 is, IMO, a good movie... but it's different. Probably the weakest in the franchise. But that's because they had to completely change it after a certain tragedy occurred in order to be respectful - I don't know why. It's not their fault a tragedy happened.
the more I rewatch Scream 3, the more I love it... I consider it the "Scooby Doo" of the Scream films
7:10 Thank you! Finally a reactor that disagrees with that answer. Aliens is not far better than Alien. Sorry, Alien is better than Aliens. Alien was a horror film, not action. Then they made Ripley into a maternal character - boooo! Kids suck! Sorry, but I really REALLY dislike children! I much rather prefer the prequels to Alien, if if Alien: Covenant really messed with continuity. Heck, I prefer Alien³ over Aliens. I'm not a huge action fan. Some action, fine. I also hated the addition of the testosterone-fueled Marines. Same reason I prefer all the other Predator sequels/prequel over the original.
Buckle up bro. This is a great series but number three is my least favorite. So please don't give up after that. I swear for five and six are better and seven is on the way
