In ep 7 Jayce’s journey reflects Viktor’s. He starts off underground and alone, with a disability, no good food or water. He has to climb his way up to piltover all on his own, using his intelligence, to finally get to the highest point (his and Viktor’s invention btw) but with no one to witness and understand his struggles besides Viktor. Just like Viktor in the main timeline was only ever fully recognised by Jayce. Adds so much depth to their respective journeys and their relationship
@@niknink8998absolutely ! Also the fact that Jayce managed to make a brace from his hammer, he probably knew how bc of Viktor, maybe he made Viktor’s brace as he didn’t have one in act1s1 / or he knew enough of it bc Jayce would see it everyday! This whole episode adds sm to their relationship and with such subtlety and beauty, one of my favourites
Remember in season 1 when we saw little Viktor build a gear boat and fall over? I think that scene is an allegory for Viktors life. The boat represents Hextech and his fall represents his death. He doesn't get to see where his inventions go because of his illness. When he finally reaches the end he runs into Singed and the creature he keeps alive for the sake of the mutation which happens to him in the future. Viktor spent the entire first season running away from his fate, and he finally accepted it at the end of the season. But in season 2 his death was taken away from him 3 times by the will of others. Tragic irony, to finally accept and be at peace with the thing that you ran from for so long only for it to be taken from you. Jayce took it out of love and desperation and Singed took it out of the need for the mutation to survive. Every time it stripped away more of his humanity.
Even if she wasn't a spy all along, she totally deserved what she got. Like the fact she was aiming at Caitlin's neck to make her suffer before death and that smile on her face when she shoot also showed how she enjoyed this
Jinx thinks Ekko is a hallucination too because she thinks he died when she blew both of them up on the bridge. Only when Ekko sits down to take a breath does she realize he’s real, and jumps instead to not hurt him again.
55:10 Jinx is alive and well on that airship! The writers and actors themselves said they’re “leaving it up to interpretation”… aka.. she’s alive. We saw Jinx use shimmer to escape the explosion (slow down the clip and you’ll see the single line of purple), then we saw Cait looking through the blueprints of the building to see the air vents Jinx could’ve escaped through because no body was found and yet a piece of her bomb was left, “The End” was written in Jinx’s handwriting, and the airship is a parallel to the first episode when Powder says she’ll ride one someday (it’s the exact same framing too). When Jinx hallucinated Silco, he told her to break the cycle she had to leave, so she did. Jinx told Vi she deserves to be happy with Cait without feeling guilty or bad for Jinx, which is why she faked her death. I think Cait knows she’s alive, but understands why Jinx did it, so she won’t tell Vi.
This is the most succinct explanation I've seen. A lot of people don't seem to understand what Cait's looking at in that last scene, nor do they catch the parallels to S1E1.
Well I am sure she will tell vi if something happens and she needs to tell her the truth... I hope jinx is in the next show either as a cameo or as some ally or chaos in the next show (I guess with lux since I saw something about them together along with her super mega death rocket is supposed to match lux's magic in both damage and speed)
@ If Cait tells Vi, I’ll just go right back to hating her because she really didn’t do anything all that redeeming. She just realized she was stupid, that’s not enough. The least she could ever do is never tell Vi she thinks Jinx survived. It would cause Vi to hunt Jinx down all over again and ruin Jinx’s happiness.
15:09 what ekko meant was “could we pretend this is our first kiss” cause alternate powder and ekko are a couple and so have kissed one another many times, however, our ekko has never had his first
55:08 "what did this all mean ?" - Cait has figured there are tunnels where Jinx has presumably died in the explosion. - You can see a purple trail just before Jinx's bomb explodes. Getting OUT of the screen. - The ship going towards the ocean is the same that little Jinx / powder wished to ride in her future, in season 1, and the exact movement / framing of the scene. - it's all hinting that Jinx is alive. We probably wont see her in future shows in League of Legends, but they let that open. And if they dont use her, It's convenient for fans anyway, theycan say she is alive. Or dead, whatever you choose to believe. It's smart writing
I disagree with the intent to be an open ended question. It's definitely heavily hinted at but still kinda vague in order to let people piece it together. Christan Linke himself said to "figure it out". I think they're 100% going to continue using Jinx in future series even though she's not the main character anymore. Her arc isn't over, Ekko is still alive, there's still room to explore that relationship (I'm pretty sure that was confirmed as well). Also as a slightly related note, this same idea works for basically everyone in this show. Jayce and Vik will probably show up again. Heimer will probably show up again. Mel of COURSE that's like the whole point involving her with Black Rose. Hell we might even see the alternate universe Powder again.
@@ianhandsup Knowing they will do their next shows on Noxus / Demacia / Ionia, it would be weird to see any of them as main protagonist. But as i said i believe they let it open for every character, in order to bring them as cameos, or side kick. They wont be the main focus of the next shows. As for Jinx specifically, would be kinda weird to follow the "life of an ex-terrorist". She has done some redemption, but she has also killed so many people. Fortiche did good to make people sad about her diying, when she was pure evil / crazy. Powder / Jinx = Anakin / Vader
@@ianhandsupI hope this doesn't happen at all. There's no reason to throw in Piltover characters in other nations storylines. I think that is a terrible idea. One of the complaints about s2 is that there were too many characters with diverging storylines which kinda messed with the pacing making it feel less focused. I think s2 is a masterpiece and as good as s1 and I think time will show it to be true. But having an extra storyline with Jinx, Ekko or anyone else would make the show lose focus. If they included these characters in the main storyline it would feel contrived, like they are just in it to make fans happy for $$$. The show and characters were amazing but let them rest and go out with a fantastic story.
Dont worry, we ALL cried when Powder and Ekko dance. It's literally the best scene in the show imo. Also, there are many signs that Powder and Ekko are already dating before our Ekko popped up in his body, and good news is Jinx isn't dead!
@@ShinxyMuro Yeah, no, there's a flash of violet pink blur darting away from the explosion before the bomb goes off on Warwick, & the scene where Caitlin is looking at the blueprints of the building they'd been in shows how/where Jinx escaped from, & then the blimp at the end is Jinx "walking away/breaking the cycle" by also fulfilling her dream of "riding one of those" like she said in Season 1. She might actually show up in one of the spinoffs.
@@ShinyTalkieWalkie while I don't think *everyone* will show up, I *do* believe that jinx, ekko, mel, vi & Cait will show up in *one* of them at least. and there *IS* the au timebomb show that they talked about as well...
You can see Jinx's shimmer blink off screen just before the explosion. Also Cait saw vents where the explosion was hence the smirk. Also Jinx in Ep 1. "I am going to ride in one of those one day" referring to the blimp at the very end.
The first time I read about / saw the pink blink, my body was filled with just the right ammount of copium to prevent me falling into a pit of despair 😅
I was yelling at my screen the whole time because there was so much tension 😭😭 like they were actually going insane and now we're feasting on all the fan creations
I don't know if anyone said this, but Heimerdinger is a Yordle, and they don't die, they just respawn at their home place. I can't remember if they can die, but from what I remember, they can only die if they choose to. If I'm wrong, anyone feel free to correct me!
actually in episode 7 it’s heavily implied Powder and Ekko were already an established couple, there are paintings of Powder in hearts in her ‘lair’, and Claggor asks Ekko ‘trouble in paradise?’, along with the fact that Ekko asks if they can pretend like it’s the first time, him knowing that they’ve kissed before in this dimension, seen a lot of people assume when this universe’s Ekko comes back he’ll be confused as to why they’re now in a relationship
i think in general ppl don't pay that much attention to this episode beyond the happiness lmao, feel like that's why they get such bad takes on Vi from it too
@@jrlombardi5251no fr, the whole “vi’s death makes a perfect world” thing is so annoying, like no it’s the lack of hextech. her death was unfortunately the thing to cement it would never exist in that world
@ranniwolves it's the funniest thing ever bc her dying changes freaking nothing lmao, it could have been Powder or even Mylo, or a random kid we don't know that joined them that day, and everything would stay the same.
One thing to point out, because I see the "Vi dies, everything's fine" take a lot: Heimerdinger was also here, for over three years, on the council, with the benefit of hindsight. No doubt the failed Hextech robbery was a big part, but I don't think the Zaun/Piltover situation would be NEARLY as tidy without Heimer with his eyes opened being there too.
The thing is, Vi dying is irrelevant in this timeline, the relevant thing is one of the kids dying. If it was Mylo dying there, everything in this timeline stays the same. The only reason why they used Vi for it is bc it's way more impactful obviously.
But heimerdinger being there for three years doesn't make any difference because robbery happened way longer ago. Heimer in that timeline was the same as in the real timeline, so him being there for three years didn't make any difference
Actually, I think it had to be by who died or at least one of the two sisters because I think that was the catalyst to the under city actually not being destroyed? It changed powder psyche to be more understanding of her sister, and then, because that was Vander‘s daughter. It probably helped create more of a bond between her and him as well as him and Silco, who probably reached out to him when that death happened and then might have found the letter and forgave him. Thus, the under city wasn’t overrun with that shimmer that he used to make everybody addicted and then you have Heimerdinger come along to help pass more laws to help benefit the bond between the two cities
@@Harleymotor And I also think that Marcus wouldn't be as cold and corrupt. You can see the shock in his face when he sees Powder crying over her sister so I guess that he is less judgmental and more understanding towards the kids in this timeline too.
Part of the better world in Ep 7 is due to not only the lack of an arms race between Hextech and Chemtech, but Heimer paying more attention, as head of the council, to Zaun and not making them desperate enough to go to war. And Silco finding Vander's mineshaft note. The parallels are heartbreaking, but the butterfly effect is both beautiful and haunting when you get to see the outcome of both scenarios.
i was sobbing the ENTIRETY of episode 7. they gave us everything we could have wanted (besides vi of course), and then said nope! this isn’t your universe, you don’t get the happy ending!
you said "that's cool, the way they put it back together like that" in relation to the council table. It's a japanese technique of highlighting where the damage was..."beauty in imperfection" if you will. It was a small detail that I missed the first time watching it. Goes to show how much love this show got in its creation
Ooh, the fourth principle, I did not spot that. Nice! Also, I think "You b*tch!" was a reaction most people had about Maddie. One of my friends said the plans Caitlyn looks at at the end show pipes through which Jinx probably escaped before the explosion. And that it's her ship on which she leaves the country in the end
30:21 are you forgetting all the months of police brutality ? (not to mention a lifetime of oppression). It wasn't enough that Caitlyn released a carcinogenic gas on their streets or simply because they had blue hair they were attacked. They were treated like animals, like inferior beings and suddenly they expect them to fight together as if nothing happened. Without any forgiveness, without any recognition of their mistakes from piltover. I understand that people from the undercity also committed crimes but it all stems from the same main problem. The society they live in. The abandonment they endure from their government ( happy to live in their privileged ignorance)
I also felt the ending was rushed but I also don't have any specific notes of what Id have changed or added. I think overall sadness of it being over is finding it's ways to be expressed.
I think it should have just been 12 episodes instead of 9. They planned on 2 more seasons instead of 1 and they crunched everything down and that's why it feels rushed because it was. My best guess is season 2 would have ended with Jayce "killing" Viktor which would have been an insane cliffhanger.
15:08 pretty sure it's implied that powder and ekko were already dating in this universe. In powder's workshop, there are drawings of them together surrounded by a heart, as well as "i love u" notes in the background. They scribble each other in their notebooks. When Mylo and Claggor arrive and see Ekko acting odd, they ask powder "trouble in paradise?". That's why Ekko is asking to pretend like it's the first time, because it's not the case for her.
I think the majority agrees episode 7 is the best in this season, a 'what if?' done beautifully and meaningfully through opening Ekko's eyes on Powder/Jinx, how he feels for her ... And the contrast between happy universe he and H are in whereas Jayce is going through literal hell really hits. It's very important for the conclusion of Viktor and Jayce's part of the story: you can't help people by just making super technology and control them not giving them a chance to make their own choices (which may end up hurting others), progress should go hand in hand with people all trying to do good for each other like Zaun& Piltover in this happy au
I dont like time travel in a lot of stories because a lot of writers dont understand how to properly utilize the idea, arcane is one of the few where i think they did it perfectly (besides maybe id argue the viktor being the mage bit but that's likely just me, everything else though, mwuh perfection)
I agree about the ending, but paradoxically I think that’s exactly the way we were always going to feel. The showrunners are not done with League of Legends series, they are just done with Arcane. I don’t think this was meant to tie everything into a neat little bow. Who knows, maybe it’s cope on my part. Haha
Fully agree. We're almost certainly going to see every character again in some other show. At the very least there's no way Mel isn't a big part of one of the next shows which takes place in Noxus, where she's from. There's also a high likelihood that we'll see Piltover/Zaun again at some point.
@ plus we all know Jinx isn’t really dead. Even with all the hints dropped during the episode, Ella Purnell has a horrible poker face. Haha. Did you watch the round table on UA-cam?
@@KerrRobinson yeah. No chance she's dead. And her not being dead and instead escaping is a very satisfying end to her arc in the show. She wanted to die so many times in the series and the only reason she never did is because other people intervened. In her final moment in the show she had 3 opportunities to die and nobody could intervene. She could have hit the ground at the bottom of the shaft, Warwick could have killed her, or the bomb could have killed her. Instead she chose on her own to live and walk away.
All 3 episodes in act 3 made me cry haha, at different points The dance between Powder and Ekko was the one in ep 7 that did it, the bittersweetness of it, how it could've been if Hextech wouldn't ever have been invented (sadly at the cost of Vi's life, though it's not specifically Vi that caused that, it just so happened to be her) In ep 8 it was Vander losing himself And in ep 9 it was the reveal that it was Viktor himself that's been pushing Jayce ever since he was a kid when he saved him. That reveal killed me, the absolute love between those two.
I finished the season today too and really appreciate that I can see your reaction. When I'm too sad or even absolutely broken inside - its your reactions make me believe that maybe there is some good left in this world. Thank you so much for that, Oscar.
@@Zimzky91 Yes, but you can also refer to each member of that organization as "a" black rose, or in this case, since we only saw one, "the" black rose and it's still correct.
Can we talk about how Singed got the best ending? Ya know, the guy who invented Shimmer, who made Vander into Warvick with his horrific experiments and did all kinds of other horrible things in the name of defeating death, got exactly what he wanted (his daughter back), with basicaly no reprecussions?
Yeah, he definitely won the series. Focused on the same goal from before the start and eventually achieves it. Guess you can't make an omelette without killing a few hundred people.
17:41 notice the crystals in the drawer. Powder was very observant and involved in this experiment with time and we all know how much of a genius she is…. Which means she has the means to replicate the Time Machine if she wanted to
I'm really glad you felt the lack of closure at the end too, I felt that way so bad and i feel like they needed maybe a shorter episode just to round of a few peoples stories
Hey, man! I discovered your reactions via Arcane and I had to drop a line to say that I really appreciated your reaction to the intro in Episode 9. I know a person's reaction to suicide can vary greatly, but I wanted to let you know that it meant a lot to see someone express empathy and sadness for a character that genuinely wanted to off themselves -- it personally meant a lot to me. Especially how you acknowledged that the Z-Drive was critical in saving Jinx's life!
I’m firmly of the opinion that Jinx is alive and just fucked off because there is a little glimmer squiggle leaving before the explosion and cupcake zooms in on the vent. Now, idk if we’ll ever see her again but like LET ME HOPE, LET ME COPE.
Also, at the beginning of the series Powder looks at an airship and says that one day she'll ride on one of them. The final shot of the show is an airship flying away.
@@simplyepic3258 To add to that, the person having the flashback before the explosion can't be Jinx nor Vi. Both the girls are sleeping in the memory, so they couldn't remember it. The only person who could actually remember that moment would be Vander. So the theory is that, somehow, Vander resurfaced one last time, let go of his daughter, allowing Jinx to flee and escape through the air vents, for her to get on a blimp and "walk away".
Thank you so much for watching Arcane! Its one of the series that I most enjoy right now. If you're feeling up for another reaction set that will make you feel every single emotion in the human soul, I recommend the songs of Epic: The Musical. Its a musical still in the concept stages that the artist has released on UA-cam, and several fans have made animatic videos to illustrate the actions (First of the series is The Horse and the Infant, I suggest the animatic by gigi). It is amazing, and a wonderful recreation of the story of the Odyssey. Catch you around the couch!
good news, they confirmed they are working already one year now on a new show about noxus. thats why there was that raven in the end with the three eyes. This is Swains raven called beatic (dont know if spelled like that) and swain is a noxian general. And the hints that Jinx isnt dead is already pointed out by others. love your reacions they are so genuin and fun :D
They said The story is not over. They just have to do another series! Pleaaaaaaase! I really liked your reactions and I'm looking forward for other series oder movies! :D
About Jinx - Cait's looking at the ventilation and holding Jinx's bomb, and her smirking means Jinx most probably is alive as she escaped there, and we actually can see a pink shimmer trail to the side right before the explosion. There is also a flying ship at the end, which looks like one of those Powder wanted to ride one day in S1. But it's still not a good ending. Look I'm all for Jinx leaving for a new happier life, but why did they have to make it look like she died, leaving her close people thinking she's dead?? They could at least show US she's alive😭
I'm just assuming, but maybe Jinx took the sentence Ekko said to her literally: that taking a leap forward means leaving a few things behind. Plus she still thinks that she's messing up everything and everyone around her, so leaving was her best option (in HER eyes maybe). And most important of all - her sister Vi. Vi would never give up on her, even if that meant sacrificing her own happiness. Perhaps Jinx thought she would be standing in Vi's path to happiness and a fulfilled life. She seemed to be very depressed and needed a fresh start; someplace else where she would not be reminded of all the horrible things that happened in her life so far. In Zaun/Piltover she'd only be known as Jinx, a criminal, an insane crazy destructive person. Somewhere else where no one knew her, she could start anew. Silco's last words in her mind were: "the cycle of violence ends when you find the will to walk away." She took his words to heart. Sorry for the long explanation.
Cait was looking at the schematics for the HexGate at the end, the lines that lead out to the side are ventilation chutes, and she is holding a monkey bomb head, she is piecing together that Jinx may have escaped through the ventilation. Right before the explosion you see a distinct purple shimmer trail dart of to the upper right, and the single airship leaving at the end is identical to the one Powder say she was going to ride one day. Can't thinks Jinx survived and fled Piltover/Zaun
I think jinx is still alive. Right before the explosion, there's a flash that looks like her shimmer ability. Then it goes to Cait, holding her monkey bomb, looking at the airducts I think she jumped into. Then at the last frame was an airship flying away. If you remember the first thing powder said in the show in reference to an airship she said "one day, I'm going to ride on one of those." And then the very last frame of the show was jinx's writing. I think she staged jinxs death so she could go somewhere else and be a better version of herself.
the song that plays during Jinx’s grand entrance in ep 9 is called “Come Play” by the kpop group Stray Kids, definitely worth listening to more of their music 💕💕
I think there’s also a previous foreshadowing when Isha (young girl) sacrificing herself to save her “sister” Jinx, would then be echoed by Jinx to save Vi. As you mentioned earlier too, regarding the opening where Jinx is holding the flag instead of a gun, I think it’s having a cause or something you’d be willing to die for that becomes Jinx’s new focus. In addition, Jinx has spent the majority of the story destroying things and killing people, including accidentally killing her friends and Vander by trying to help, this “do over” allows her to try again to save Vi and arguably Vander, by instead being the one who dies this time around -though I agree that Jinx likely got away
I think that in episode 7, when you said that this was a world where piltover was different because Vi died, it wasn't specifically because it was her. If i recall correctly, in the main timeline, no one at all was hurt in the explosion. If someone was, I think it's safe to assume that Jayce's punishment would have been more severe, directly leading to a lack of the invention of hextech. That would have a much more drastic impact on the overall evolution of Piltover than Vi dying specifically. Although it is sad that she was probably the one who wanted that world to be a reality more than anyone, and not even a different version of her was able to be a part of it.
You didn't show it in your reaction but I loved how when jinx and ekko are talking in episode 9 and he keeps reversing time to prevent her from killing herself sure sees her monkey's in the device and almost realizes that some version of her helped him make it.
I think Caitlyn holding the jinx monkey head and looking at the blueprint for the hexgate at the very end there was Caitlyn seeing if there's a chance they survived? I think Jinx was teleported at the end when she fell into the hex thing, it was an explosion but it was very... warpy? I think Caitlyn is seeing if there's a chance they survive through hextech shenanigans
Id heard somewhere that while Arcane is done, the show writers will continue writing stories for runeterra, I'm hopeful that we can Follow Mel's character for our next major story even if she's only a transition piece to move us to the next continent or city to meet a new batch of characters
A colleague of mine explained to me: because of Vi's death due to the explosion, Jayce's punishment was not only being expelled from the academy, but the banishment from Piltover. And in this timeline he really ended his life, because him and Viktor never got the chance to meet and invent Hex-Tech. So Jayce does not exist anymore in this timeline. And maybe Viktor as well.
Powder and Ekko was amazing cause of the end we got. But not to worry, Jinx is alive, she was on the Airship in the end. This was obvious when Caitlyn was looking into the blueprints, plus the voice actors aren’t revealing if she is dead or not either.
While I think Vi dying did help the timeline, I think Heimerdinger's active help for the underground is what really helped everything. Who knows, maybe even Silco's deal did get struck, and earlier than in the og timeline .I love Ekko so much, he really saved everyone.
By the way I find it so beautiful that in the AU Jayce went through a journey very similar to Viktor's life - clawing his way from the bottom of Zaun to the top of Piltover, becoming crippled like him, barely having means to survive but then still persist and live, they're truly soulmates now
The first show that had an ending that felt like the end. Plus, I think Jinx (if she DID die) had a fitting ending. She died which releases her completely from her sufferings and trauma. Something as extreme as her experiences is hard to just wash off your skin
To explain a couple of things that you critically missed; Jinx didn't die in the end. It's really subtle and calls for a second watch to pick out, but we can see her pink Shimmer dash line just as the explosion goes off. This is then confirmed by Caitlyn inspecting the building blueprints to note there was a vent Jinx escaped through. Similarly, the airship that is shown in the very first episode flying towards the city, to which Powder says 'one day, I will ride in one of those', is seen flying away from the city in the exact same manner. Arcane showrunners involved a lot of very specific details in the show and none by coincidence (for example, Ekko and Powder's dance in episode 7 is presented in -4- frames per second, as a nod to his future timetravel limitation). Second important thing that Arcane as a concept/show is not over. While the season 2 was the last season of Arcane specifically, Arcane is but one specific story arc in the League of Legends universe. The showrunners have already confirmed there will be at least three sequel series, involving the lands of Noxus (homeland of Ambessa and Mel), Demacia and Ionia. Some characters we meet in Arcane have significance in these locations too - including Jinx.
*To help you feel better!* The two big ongoing speculations/theories I've seen floating around about Viktor, Jayce, Vandor and Jinx are these: *Viktor and Jayce* didn't die (subsequently, this can extend to Heimerdinger) when they faded/blipped out of existence. Instead they were teleported into another dimension/realm/universe, because that's what the rune on Jayce's wrist is capable of doing. I saw one really good post somewhere that explained the nuances of it (the acceleration rune) and how the specific circumstances of Arcane couldn't have happened with any other rune (if you watch the flashback scene where Viktor gives little Jayce the rune over and over in different universes, you'll see each rune has a different sigil on it - the one _our_ Jayce has is the acceleration rune) I have no idea where it's gone though 😂 Just look into it if you're curious! It wasn't a bad theory. As for *Vandor and Jinx.* The ongoing theory for them is that they aren't dead because they got shot off through the vents in the explosion (keep in mind that they're both enhanced and have rapid healing abilities, so if anyone could survive that blast it would be Vandor and Jinx) that's what Caitlyn was looking at in the end of the episode and why she smiled at the little broken monkey in her hand. That's also why the 'The End?' blip in the final moments of the episode was coloured in Jinx's style. The whole ending of the last episode is filled with little easter eggs and hints honestly, the show doesn't tell you a lot of things outright and kind of just expects you to infer from the little details they put into each scene. There's a lot of things that people miss because of this, but there's also a lot of cool moments to catch if you're really familiar with the lore of the game. Like Vandor, for example. Pretty much every LoL player knew Vandor was going to be turned into Warwick (the werewolf) and everyone knew Viktor was going to the Herald, they also knew that Vi would get gauntlets. It's a pretty big disparity in the actual practice of watching the show but it also offers a lot to both types of audiences. But yeah 😂 I also hate unhappy endings, it makes me feel hopeless about my own hardships when you see a character suffer and fight and work so hard towards something better, only to find resolution for all of that in their own death. Like, it just genuinely hits me in the depression, so I get it. Personally, I prefer the story where they make it out alive and are faced with a life full of potential that they never expected for themselves. It's a much better story, at least to me.
I enjoyed the season overall it's just that vi was the reason I loved s1 so much and she was basically the main character, but here they made her a side character with pretty much no agency or important role to play so that made it fall kinda flat to me 🥲 but I enjoy the show more through ur reactions
Agreed. I'm also dissapointed with what they've done to Viktor and the direction they took his character. They changed pretty much everything about his character and what people loved about him in season 1, turning him almost into an entirely new one and screwing him over for no reason and it sucks since he's my favourite character and has been from the start. They could have made him more like his League counterpart, where he offers to help people with his inventions with their permission.
@ Yeah a lot of characters felt like a bit of a husk of themselves… streets are saying they only had three ppl in the writer’s room for s2 due to covid so maybe that explains some things 🫢
@youwsernayme Yeah, they had a lot of ideas but trying to squeeze so many plot points into just 9 episodes is too much and felt way too rushed and forced most of the time and it's a shame considering how incredible season 1 was and how season 2 could have been just as amazing, if not better with better pacing.
54:36 Nope! The writers said that this is only the end of Arcane, not the League of Legends franchise, they have 3 ideas for new shows currently and this ending definitely sets up a Noxus series to follow Mel. They’re also continuing to release novels set in this world, such as Ambessa’s novel coming soon next year in February. We’ll definitely see these characters again and many new characters, just with new stories.
Powder/Jinx & Ekko ship is called Timebomb, btw And they're adorable, and if you rewatch their scenes in the AU carefully you will notice Powder and Ekko are already in a relationship, because there are gifts and drawings of them together with hearts and 'I love yous', and that's why he tells her 'let's pretend it is the first time' when they kiss (But yeah she highly likely guessed he wasn't her Ekko)
We are getting a Demacia, Ionia, and Noxus series... I have full confidence that Jinx will show up in one of them most likely the Demacia one. For like a single frame before the grenade goes off you can see a pink line heading away from the explosion, and I fully bellieve Jinx is on that airshp heading to a new region in the final scene.
Its not just when 'vi isnt there' himer has been there for 1000+ days. he had a chance to help that community, where in his own world he failed to do so.
I knew at the moment the "The End" in the scratchy Jinx-font came up that she's alive. I didn't even see the shimmer trace but I figured just from the font that she's alive, and on the airship. :)
Episode 7: Ekko gets a party while Jayce is learning that everything really is his fault. Gotta respect his will to survive though. I’d have been dead in three minutes and that’s being generous. Why was it seeing Ekko reuniting with Benzo that made me cry? This poor boy. Honestly Ekko is best boy. He deserves nothing but love and happiness. Episode 8: “I didn’t know.” It wasn’t targeted. It wasn't personal. It's just how the cards fell. It wouldn't have made a difference, but she didn't do it because of Cass or even Cait. She did it because Screw Piltover and the council. "No amount of good deeds can undo our crimes." .... Been telling yourself that a lot, huh Cait. I also appreciate that she said “our” because… yeah… I genuinely have so many conflicting feelings about… The Scene. On the one hand, I would have liked an actual apology. But… the other part of me was just super giddy even if I couldn’t watch because I get super bad secondhand embarrassment for scenes like that. Also, a cell, ladies? Really? “You’ve grown a bit predictable.” That smug bitch lol. They somehow made Mel even more beautiful and I don’t know what to do with this. Her and Jayce are just a super good looking couple now what the heck. And I don’t even like Jayce. Episode 9: I genuinely didn’t put any stock into Maddie being a traitor, but whelp. Guess I’m just too trusting. The fact that Sevika, the one who has been trying to rally the Undercity this whole time and whose loyalty is only to Zaun, is the rep for Zaun on the council feels so good man. I think that’s amazing. The fact that Zaun now even has rep is also amazing even though it’s clear they’ve still got a long way to go given everyone is glaring at each other. “That’s the drawback of you long range types.” Frickin Smeech of all people with the eye loss foreshadow. Cait taking a page out of Vi’s book by being injured, throwing the first punch, and then having an “oh shit” moment when she realizes she’s punching above her weight made me cackle. Her and Mel tag teaming Ambessa was crazy though. Such a good fight. The tracking shot when Ambessa kicks Cait in the head was wild. This show was a crazy wild ride, but man it was pretty stellar.
Me watching ep 7: Hey look, Powder is sane, Vander, Benzo, Mylo and Claggor are alive, everything seems great. Btw where's Vi? Ep 7: Vi's dead in this universe Me: ............ Sonovabitch 😑
jinx n ekko are together in their timeline but it was cut out when she arrives in the ballon after he saves her from blowing up they prepare and build the weapons and paint each other that's why they match they fell in love that's why ekko at the end sitting alone is even sadder knowing this
The biggest disappointment this season is that the writers just threw the whole Zaun oppressed by Piltover arc out the window: they didn't even let Sevika (or anyone) speak up when Jayce asked them to help solve the problem Piltover (mainly himself) created🤦 Or they could show us how the hell Ekko and Jinx managed to bring her and others to the fight ..United against a bigger threat is a bit of a lame way to end years of all that suffering. I literally cursed when the whole resolution was "Sevika becomes a single representative for Zaun in the council against a dozen of Piltovans"
It's not solved at all, it's only just beginning. They wouldn't be able to solve that conflict in years. Also, it's quite easy to imagine how they rallyed Zaun to fight alongside them. No matter what, Jinx is still a symbol, and most will follow her into the fray.
@@gustavgustav2670not acknowledging the problem anyhow did say that, as if it just didn't exist.. I guess that's the consequence of rushing the end of the show. I'm not saying they could solve it, I'm saying they should have started the conversation (not just imply it would be resolved behind the scenes)
thank you. somebody needed to say it. if they ever vote against zaun's interests, what the hell can sevika do about it with her single vote? especially since it's already been established that the council is corrupt? I hate when media critiques the system and then is like "actually, the status quo works. we just need different/nicer people in charge."
Jinx might be alive! during the explosion, we were shown a very fast pink ray rising from the explosion, which symbolizes Jinx. At the end, Caitlin holds in her hands a fragment of the grenade that Jinx used to explode, and studies the blueprints of the building where the explosion occurred. Caitlin grinned when she found "escape routes" in them. After this scene, we were also shown a flying airship, which, as we know from the first episode, Powder has always dreamed of flying. (Sorry if it's hard to read, I don't speak English, so I used a translator when watching the video and writing the comment)
I think that everything in episode 7 is because the people who wanted change, were able to make it happen. No one 'got jinxed' this time around.(Well... aside from that terrible explosion of course... But Vi dying only changed the people close to her and possibly Jayce or what the Council decided to do with the incident.) Silco always wanted the nation of Zaun, the council just wouldn't listen. Heimerdinger this time, could intervene and listen, help the undercity. Maybe he found Ekko and the kids and helped them make the undercity better. Maybe he gave Silco and Vander a chance, to make the Zaun independent, have trade routes all of that. (I do wonder if Jayce also died in that explosion, and where Victor is) Powder was always strong, but Vi leaving, Vander dying, a bunch of the stuff that happened turned her into Jinx. Vi died, but it might've made the sibling lean more on each other. A child dying meant that maybe the Council saw they needed to do something. No Hextech - without Hextech, Silco didn't have to become desperate because of the gap between Piltover and Zaun. No weapons, no shimmer? Silco might've found the Bedrock note in this timeline instead. It's kinda like Episode S1 Ep 3 never happened, and went into a completely different direction. And the Progress day thing is now the Invertors Competition? Like everyone is equal to come with ideas on how to improve things, instead of it being a celebration of Piltover.
Why Victor wasn´t working on the Hexgates earlier? Probably because they were using them to the last minute to get reinforcements and to send those who can´t/wan´t to fight to safety.
This truly isn’t talked about enough!
Not to mention the bum leg!
Wooooow, I never noticed THAT connection before! Genius.
“she must’ve seen the prison footage” at maddie betraying cait is hilarious LMFAOOOO . you said it in such serious tone too
Its funny but maddie was a spy all along😭
Even if she wasn't a spy all along, she totally deserved what she got. Like the fact she was aiming at Caitlin's neck to make her suffer before death and that smile on her face when she shoot also showed how she enjoyed this
So glad you notice Cait using “the fourth principal” sacrificing her eye to have them win the fight, haven’t seen another reactor point it out
@@Invinci-NeD That was a good catch. I didn’t realize it until this video.
Yeah, and the airship has a big streak of blue paint on it, which it didn't in the episode one clip. She's absolutely alive
cope
"No matter what I do, I just can't seem to die" She's not dead.
Ekko is an amazing character. He is smart, selfless and a good leader. He should be on the council.
Probably the most selfless character on the show
They should definitely have a firelight on the council to represent the different parts of the undercity rather than only having sevika
@@totallyawesome8587 Absolutely! They should have a few representatives.
He is the best, I was worried they were gonna waste him after he was completely missing in arc 2
His too young to be on the council but for sure when he gets older
15:09 what ekko meant was “could we pretend this is our first kiss” cause alternate powder and ekko are a couple and so have kissed one another many times, however, our ekko has never had his first
This act is full of Ambessa's fourth pillar: sacrifice. So many characters are leaving something behind in order to take a leap forward.
55:08 "what did this all mean ?"
- Cait has figured there are tunnels where Jinx has presumably died in the explosion.
@@lukaszzylik4437 Sorry to say but this has already been confirmed... At least to the extent that we'll see these characters again.
Omge thank you my eyes were so filled with tears i couldn't even catch that part 😂😂
Dont worry, we ALL cried when Powder and Ekko dance. It's literally the best scene in the show imo. Also, there are many signs that Powder and Ekko are already dating before our Ekko popped up in his body, and good news is Jinx isn't dead!
Wait, she's not?
51:57 tears in my jayvik eyes. Brothers😭. Nah brothers don’t look at eachother like that.
I was yelling at my screen the whole time because there was so much tension 😭😭 like they were actually going insane and now we're feasting on all the fan creations
Whenever they’re on screen together I have to say out loud “and they boyfriends”
Also when ekko dropped her diary there was hearts around them both on the left page
i think in general ppl don't pay that much attention to this episode beyond the happiness lmao, feel like that's why they get such bad takes on Vi from it too
@@jrlombardi5251no fr, the whole “vi’s death makes a perfect world” thing is so annoying, like no it’s the lack of hextech. her death was unfortunately the thing to cement it would never exist in that world
@ranniwolves it's the funniest thing ever bc her dying changes freaking nothing lmao, it could have been Powder or even Mylo, or a random kid we don't know that joined them that day, and everything would stay the same.
@@jrlombardi5251 womp womp cry about it
One thing to point out, because I see the "Vi dies, everything's fine" take a lot: Heimerdinger was also here, for over three years, on the council, with the benefit of hindsight.
@@belovist9567yes it did. He said he was able to accomplish "wonderful things" IE. the integration of Zaun with piltover
I LOVE that you saw what Cait did right away, sacrifice, my girl is brave
Best episode of the show imo, the whole powder au was just perfect, no notes
The scene where Ekko and Powder danced was animated in 4 frames per second, which is the amount of time Ekko can rewind 😭 this show is killing me!!!
:O
you said "that's cool, the way they put it back together like that" in relation to the council table.
Ekko enjoying life in another dimension while jayce is in the trenches will never not be funny to me
51:58 EXACTLY! This is what a friendship is about! These 2 were in it together through thick and thin!
1 hour videos are always top tier
15:08 pretty sure it's implied that powder and ekko were already dating in this universe. In powder's workshop, there are drawings of them together surrounded by a heart, as well as "i love u" notes in the background. They scribble each other in their notebooks. When Mylo and Claggor arrive and see Ekko acting odd, they ask powder "trouble in paradise?".
That's why Ekko is asking to pretend like it's the first time, because it's not the case for her.
At least we now have the confirmation that there's a version of Powder that's sane and happy
Mel was by far my favorite character in season 1, I was so thrilled to see where they took her character with this arc
43:17 Sickest character design I've ever seen.
I would've used 49:20, but either way, Viktor's final form is so sick.
There's something unsettling and horrifying about it like Eva kinda vibes and he literally tries to cause the arcane third impact evangelion
All 3 episodes in act 3 made me cry haha, at different points
The dance between Powder and Ekko was the one in ep 7 that did it, the bittersweetness of it, how it could've been if Hextech wouldn't ever have been invented (sadly at the cost of Vi's life, though it's not specifically Vi that caused that, it just so happened to be her)
In ep 8 it was Vander losing himself
And in ep 9 it was the reveal that it was Viktor himself that's been pushing Jayce ever since he was a kid when he saved him. That reveal killed me, the absolute love between those two.
I finished the season today too and really appreciate that I can see your reaction. When I'm too sad or even absolutely broken inside - its your reactions make me believe that maybe there is some good left in this world. Thank you so much for that, Oscar.
@21:10 I noticed that form the Black Rose took was the girl that Ambessa told Mel to kill when she was young! Anyone else notice that???
I thought everyone knew?
Black Rose isn't a person, it's an organization
She was just presenting herself as that girl, it was an illusion.
@@Zimzky91 Yes, but you can also refer to each member of that organization as "a" black rose, or in this case, since we only saw one, "the" black rose and it's still correct.
French song from their dance scene has been on repeat since the episode dropped. I listen to it all day at work
I would, but it makes me cry. That was such a beautiful episode.
Moral of the story, doing Warcrimes pays off
he's a slippery guy for sure
Yeah, he definitely won the series. Focused on the same goal from before the start and eventually achieves it. Guess you can't make an omelette without killing a few hundred people.
IKR like thats pissed me off so much 🤣🤣
Dang, now even Arcane is tackling the multiverse!
Ekko: Into the Arcane-Verse
Nah, arcane:into the ekkoverse.
41:35 "that backfired, literally" lmaoooo
episode 7 deserves all the awards. one of the best episodes of any show ever.
I was looking forward to this all week!!!
@@simplyepic3258holy shit, that is a good catch.. sorry that just blew my mind for a second LOL
@@simplyepic3258 no fr and it seems like a similar reference for the shot
@@simplyepic3258 To add to that, the person having the flashback before the explosion can't be Jinx nor Vi. Both the girls are sleeping in the memory, so they couldn't remember it. The only person who could actually remember that moment would be Vander.
So the theory is that, somehow, Vander resurfaced one last time, let go of his daughter, allowing Jinx to flee and escape through the air vents, for her to get on a blimp and "walk away".
@@bouboulrozawwww wait that makes so much sense and makes me feel so much better, Still sad as shit🤣🤣
At least Vi finally got a chance to be happy at the end, shes been through it.
good news, they confirmed they are working already one year now on a new show about noxus. thats why there was that raven in the end with the three eyes.
Silco's last words in her mind were: "the cycle of violence ends when you find the will to walk away."
She took his words to heart.
Based on the ending scenes, the general consensus is that Jinx lived
I love how episode 7 in both seasons is my favorite episode, and both have my favorite soundtrack/needle drops
What was the first season ep 7 abt i forgot
Id heard somewhere that while Arcane is done, the show writers will continue writing stories for runeterra, I'm hopeful that we can Follow Mel's character for our next major story even if she's only a transition piece to move us to the next continent or city to meet a new batch of characters
In ep 7, I think in the powder universe, powder and ekko were already together. Hence why Ekko asks to pretend like its the first time when they kiss.
The thing I love most about Vi's absence in the "happily ever after universe" is that, in fact, she kinda is the actual jinx.
Also, didn't know Heimer had them vocals 😳
I just watched all these in one sitting.
1 box of tissues later and happy I watched it again along wiyth you. It was an amazing ride.
13:50 this scene is filmed 4 fps linking to the fact ecco can only go 4 seconds into the past
Who knows, maybe even Silco's deal did get struck, and earlier than in the og timeline
.I love Ekko so much, he really saved everyone.
Yes ekko is the mvp
By the way I find it so beautiful that in the AU Jayce went through a journey very similar to Viktor's life - clawing his way from the bottom of Zaun to the top of Piltover, becoming crippled like him, barely having means to survive but then still persist and live, they're truly soulmates now
The first show that had an ending that felt like the end. Plus, I think Jinx (if she DID die) had a fitting ending. She died which releases her completely from her sufferings and trauma. Something as extreme as her experiences is hard to just wash off your skin
This show is the definition of "if there's no body, he or she is not dead."
To explain a couple of things that you critically missed;
Jinx didn't die in the end.
After the Arcane finale, no Ekko slander is tolerated near me
omg same
*To help you feel better!*
The two big ongoing speculations/theories I've seen floating around about Viktor, Jayce, Vandor and Jinx are these:
*Viktor and Jayce* didn't die (subsequently, this can extend to Heimerdinger) when they faded/blipped out of existence.
Episode 9 felt rushed because initially it was going to be 1,5 Hrs long but because it was on netflix they had to limit it to 40 mins
Not fair, stranger things got extra long eps
Powder/Jinx & Ekko ship is called Timebomb, btw And they're adorable, and if you rewatch their scenes in the AU carefully you will notice Powder and Ekko are already in a relationship, because there are gifts and drawings of them together with hearts and 'I love yous', and that's why he tells her 'let's pretend it is the first time' when they kiss (But yeah she highly likely guessed he wasn't her Ekko)
Though it just may be the writers playing with us who knows
Vi finally got to eat her cupcake
Poor girl was starving, y'know?
We are getting a Demacia, Ionia, and Noxus series... I have full confidence that Jinx will show up in one of them most likely the Demacia one.
For like a single frame before the grenade goes off you can see a pink line heading away from the explosion, and I fully bellieve Jinx is on that airshp heading to a new region in the final scene.
I think Powder and Ekko already had some kind of romance going on in the other universe
55:17 don’t worry jinx is alive, this kind of fits in with her game lore and she was falling into a portal so she likely ended up in another land
Its not just when 'vi isnt there' himer has been there for 1000+ days. he had a chance to help that community, where in his own world he failed to do so.
He even says "I've been able to achieve great things here". All golden until Powder reinvents hextech.
51:57
“Brothers, bro” 🥲tears in my JayVik eyes
I knew at the moment the "The End" in the scratchy Jinx-font came up that she's alive. I didn't even see the shimmer trace but I figured just from the font that she's alive, and on the airship. :)
Episode 7:
Ekko gets a party while Jayce is learning that everything really is his fault. Gotta respect his will to survive though. I’d have been dead in three minutes and that’s being generous.
Why was it seeing Ekko reuniting with Benzo that made me cry? This poor boy. Honestly Ekko is best boy. He deserves nothing but love and happiness.
Episode 8:
“I didn’t know.” It wasn’t targeted.
I also appreciate that she said “our” because… yeah…
I genuinely have so many conflicting feelings about… The Scene.
Episode 9:
I genuinely didn’t put any stock into Maddie being a traitor, but whelp.
Ep 7: Vi's dead in this universe
Me: ............ Sonovabitch 😑
jinx n ekko are together in their timeline but it was cut out when she arrives in the ballon after he saves her from blowing up they prepare and build the weapons and paint each other that's why they match they fell in love that's why ekko at the end sitting alone is even sadder knowing this
The creator of Arcane says that Jinx and Ekko’s story is worth continuing. So it may not be over yet. I’m holding out a ton of hope 🎉
56:38 I agree, I wasn’t a massive fan of the last Act because it felt rushed. Visually incredible, but plot-wise nah not the best
Who said it ended years of suffering?
@@gustavgustav2670not acknowledging the problem anyhow did say that, as if it just didn't exist.. I guess that's the consequence of rushing the end of the show. I'm not saying they could solve it, I'm saying they should have started the conversation (not just imply it would be resolved behind the scenes)
thank you. somebody needed to say it. if they ever vote against zaun's interests, what the hell can sevika do about it with her single vote? especially since it's already been established that the council is corrupt? I hate when media critiques the system and then is like "actually, the status quo works. we just need different/nicer people in charge."
@@mischr13 No one said this would get fixed in a day. It’s only just starting.
"she must have seen the prison footage" 😭😭😭
That made me laugh so hard I scared the dog. 😆
I've been waiting for your reaction to the Finale for 5 days and it's finally here!!!!!
34:52 yurrrrr, an angel makes itself scary to ward off evil, a demon makes itself look beautiful to deceive humans
41:00 that was exactly my reaction
Yes it was cut short, im pretty sure the last ep was suppose to be 1h and 40 mins or something. Sad. but hey, arcane is so fucking good. ❤
I think that everything in episode 7 is because the people who wanted change, were able to make it happen. No one 'got jinxed' this time around.(Well... aside from that terrible explosion of course... But Vi dying only changed the people close to her and possibly Jayce or what the Council decided to do with the incident.)
Silco always wanted the nation of Zaun, the council just wouldn't listen. Heimerdinger this time, could intervene and listen, help the undercity.
Maybe he found Ekko and the kids and helped them make the undercity better. Maybe he gave Silco and Vander a chance, to make the Zaun independent, have trade routes all of that. (I do wonder if Jayce also died in that explosion, and where Victor is)
Powder was always strong, but Vi leaving, Vander dying, a bunch of the stuff that happened turned her into Jinx.
