Improving the performance of the Modular motor proved to be tricky. Tuning it for high power turned it into an unreliable and dirty engine that had to run on race gas, so they went back to the drawing board. The first redesign resulted in something that was almost entirely new. Koenigsegg started by reinforcing the block and implementing a new crankcase gas recirculation system, followed by all new pistons, connecting rods and camshafts. The lubrication system was converted to dry sump and the pistons got a new oil cooling system. Koenigsegg ended up making so many changes to the block over time that they had to abandon Ford's and start casting their own. They added things like stiffening ribs and chose Grainer & Worrall in the United Kingdom to make the new block out of aluminum. Sounded like rev limiter. I read the “stock” COPO tune and it was at 8400rpm so not sure if it hit that. More testing/seat time needed.

@@zethloveless7238 ...you can see the dodge/mopar butt hurt'in a 1/4 mile away. I actually read some threads on demonolgy's page during the height of his calling out folk to race where some dodge/mopar fanboys were making the claim that GM is incapable of manufacturing a competitive vehicle from factory that could compete with the dodge challenger demon and therefore had to rely on a 3rd party vendor (i.e. Hennessy)... match the dodge challenger demon's power...hence the origins of the exorcist package. GM chose to partner with Hennessy via THEIR CHOICE...not because GM wasn't capable. With that said I'm bias towards GM with no shame....but a GM fanboy I am not; because I also own dodge (SRT) and BMW 1 series....GM just so happens to be my "first love" as far as American Muscle.

2013 copo 427 made 456rwhp NA best ET @ 9.32 and this blue camaro is about 700rwhp NA hit 9.19? And now what is exact rwhpto hit 8.81 second? I feel so doubt that 456rwhp can hit 9.32. Please so honest with that.

Man KC'S car would have been in the 6s but that letting out early right at the end of the track is killing it you can see the early @5:25 - 5:26 and at 8:02 - 8:03 give it a few more feet

Exactly what I was thinking, early every time!! He'd probably have gotten a 6.9X, if not then at least a 7.0X, and close on one of those runs had he just kept his foot in it, and not coasted the last 30+ feet!!

I don't think it's enough to cause issue being how hot the tires get. They are probably still warm and gained 3 lbs of air pressure from burnout to checking back in their pit.
