After the round of significant snow this mid of January, 10-15 cm, roughly half a foot here in central New Jersey with a cold front and very cold blast in the back end of this made the snow to last and not melt and more importantly stay fluffy. So we decided to make the most of this excellent snow and do a little walk in the Great Swamp.

in French/ en français : la chute de neige relativement importante que nous avons eu mi janvier, 10-15 cm dans le New Jersey central avec un front froid et meme extrêmement froid venu juste après a fait que la neige n’a pas fondu tout de suite et plus important qu’elle est restée poudreuse et légère. Nous avons décidé de profiter de la neige au maximum et de faire une petite promenade dans le grand marais. (Great Swamp)

Great place for a winter walk. It’s nice to see how much they have improved the boardwalk. Awesome seeing the Herring too.
yes indeed, and not to far away from home. This place is a bird sanctuary of some sort, they hav changed it from National Park or Refugee to wildlife conservation something, I took a picture of the new denomination but it's a place where migrating birds used to stop (now they barely migrate anymore) and you see people walking along the road and at those bird view stops with fancy camera with super telephoto lens. I just used my iPhone for the heron : we were just crossing the bridge by foot to look at the stream when we saw that majestic bird. Thank you for the support !
@ there’s a bird sanctuary not too far from me too and I also see folks with those huge lenses out there. I hope they get some good shots. I film pretty much everything on an iPhone.
@@scottalpine I film almost everything on a GoPro but reach for my phone as soon as I need some reach. I have more fancy cameras but I use them mostly for photography, I come from the world of photography, have been taking photographs seriously for the past 40years. But I don't own any of these huge and pricey telephoto, I know that if I did I wouldn't carry those around they are too bulky and weigh you down on hikes anyway. Phone is fine for telephoto video and photo for the occasional wildlife, specially those modern iPhones that are really excellent quality cameras for photos and videos. I use the phone also for the daily vlogging and run and gun shots
@ Phones are great for the vlogging and run and gun type of filming. I pretty much just use my phone all the time cause I’m lazy and don’t want to fool with other cameras. I also do all my editing on my phone, I hardly ever use a computer these days.
