I was noticing today how much your kids have grown up since you started the channel. What a great experience! ❤
It's like being there and watching them grow up to be fine young adults, kind, hard working, etc. Keep up the excellent work, everyone! I'm so glad you're back on the house!
What are you feeding them?
Ashley: "Looks good from back here." 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣☠
Cracks me up cuz I’m fairly sure that’s not what she’s referring too! 😂 😂
I love my shirt with the house design on it, the cotton is so soft and stretchy, just a really good quality fabric!! I’m glad you are back on the house, and Adeli, I got my package in the mail, thank you so very much! Your goat barn turned out so awesome! Love you all and have a great weekend! ❤😊
Edit: please make shirts that say “Everything’s fine.” 😂❤
Love it when yall say ‘everything’s fine’
Because no matter what happens, it is fine, Make mistake and you can get around it!
By the time the house is finished, you'll have dug a hole big enough for a pool 🤗
The desert is alive with color❤💛🧡💚 Great to see you back to the house build🙌🙌🙌🙌
New t-shirt design... "Everything's fine" 😂
YAY to Spring in the dez, blossoms, bees, greenery and building your casa !
Congrats as every moment brings the vision of your home into fruition, AWESOME !
I caught that, Ashley: “looks good from back here!” 😂❤
The kids are looking ADORBS🐐♥️🐐
the bee video///wasss A SCENE STEALERR..... WOOWOWWW
Johnathan was “chop” sticking!
Thanks guys..sure hope you get some workshops and sizable crews out there this summer to help with the home build. 😊
Those clouds are just magnificent, aren’t they?😊
YOUR AT A PERFECT HEIGHT AND MOMENT WHERE YOU COULD DO CONCRETE FLOORS IN THE HOUSE PORTION. IT WILL MAKE IT EASIER TO WORK, SAFER WHEN YOU RUN THE SCAFFOLDING. BUT USE A CEMENT TRUCKS TOO, SAVE EVERYONE AND SAFE EVERYONE'S ENERGY FOR WHEELBARROWS, AND SEE IF YOU CAN OUT SOURCE SOME JOURNEY LEVEL FINISHERS. DONT POUR THE CENTER RING OR THE PATIO JUST YET, JUST THE HOUSE FLOOR. THE ADOBE BAGS WILL ACT AS FORMS, AND YOU ONLY NEED 4" SLAB THICKNESS. BOX OUT THE SHOWER AREAS TO DO AT A LATER TIME, AND RUN CONDUIT FOR ANY FLOOR PLUGS OR ELECTRICAL POWER IN CABINETS. ALL THAT KNOW IS WAY SIMPLIER NOW THEN TO RENT ADDITION EQUIPMENT AND HAVE TO GET INTO SPOTS NOW BLOCKED WITH WALLS. REMEMBER KEEP IT SIMPLE SMILEY 🙂. HAVE A GREAT WEEK AND GOD BLESS EVERYONE.
That was the plan. But then we priced concrete.
You guys are so sweet together and your hard work so inspiring. Been binge watching your builds and just want to express how positive and motivational your whole family is to us all! Thank you for sharing your journey 💙
Thank you so much!!
If I lived close, I would come and help. Such great people, wonderful family. I wish you were my kids and grandkids. ❤️❤️❤️
You are a very hard working family. I always enjoy watching you in all your projects.🏡
Oh my, it's all looking so good! Nice to see the trees and flowers blooming (not sure what those roses were about). The young ones have grown into gorgeous teens...glad you have Levi visiting, he looks like a good addition to the family work crew. And the beautiful goat barn and corral and those happy, healthy kids!
not sure those are roses, they might be apricot mallow, which does well in the desert, just folded up in the morning…but that’s just a guess…
New Tee? EVERYTHING IS FINE!
And definitely in all Capital Letters w/exclamation points!!
Whoever filmed the bees, great job! 🐝
The peach flowering tree/bush? Is beautiful! I love how you all enjoy hanging out together and working together!
It would be nice to see more of the desert in bloom. As part of the B-roll. Great family working together.
I've been following your channel from early on and admire your dedication, work ethic, and ability to learn as you go. You may not have started with building skills but clearly you are clever and handy enough to succeed ultimately. I look forward each week to the next installment and wish you all the best! Jonathan it occurs to me that you and Patrick Simmons of the Doobies bear a resemblance to one another. I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall when you and Ashley met....and to have heard you play!!!
Looking good! Amazing watching you all working together...such a difference from the first videos where you were working on the solar shed. So many skills developed and refined. But some things remain forever the same, such as Ada's sense of humor. :)
You all are AMAZING! I've learned so much from you, and your videos are so fun and motivating. Thank you for everything you teach us with the best of attitudes, even when it's hard.
Good to see you all being able to help. And good to have the extra young man helping too. See you all.
Mate I've been waiting and waiting for your beautiful home.To see you guys back on it is making me very cited. 😊
Don't forget Morning Hugs ❤ amazing Family.. once all done maybe movie.. Blessings 🎉
Good morning thanks for the update and ya'll have a great day 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻✌🏼
Who ever got that bee roll... (bee, B, roll.... ok, I'll stop) awesome video!
Good to see you back at the house
Sometimes I have to watch your videos twice because I get so mesmerized by the time-lapse of the clouds :)
This will be a long time bag filling. Seeing some crazy doodles and baby goats in between would be nice. Miss funny Nine ❤️ he made the videos so special.
Hey you hard working peoples! Nice work and great progress! I spoke to you about the baby goats at the meet and greet, however, I have had to repair some septic issues and have not had the time to get my old chicken barn ready for goats, so I cannot get any of them from you. Sorry. Next time. Have a great weekend and take some time to rest and relax! Your friend, Rick
Bags and bags going in or on. Y'all got this.
Glad to see the house in progress again & the trees coming back to life. Looking forward to more spring shots of the property. How are the chickens doing?
They're good!
Looking good. God bless you and your family.
The babies are growing up!😊
I would like to say..... y'all are doing a wonderful job. Both with your family and with all your labors to raise your homestead out of the Arizona dust.
Patience, kindness, hard work and understanding. Tremendous formula for your vision. Goodonya
I love your design aesthetic and can’t wait to see how this house plays out. Everything is fine 😊
Some Castles and Palaces in Europe have buttresses.Every castle needs one, LIKE YOURS !
Thank you for being awesome 😎
Hey thanks!
Oh its great to see you back on the round house. Greetings from South Africa 🇿🇦
Glad to see the house building again!! You guys have to have a house party build!!
bonjour la famille. many thanks for the vidéo. it's always good to see what you are all up to. someone earlier said, 'the children are growing up !' Adalai's et Ada's respective hair is growing. the boys are great taller and manly looking. earth bags, buttresses and a lack of dirt oh my !
Love you guys! You make me smile. Giving your family life lessons every day. I look forward to seeing how well your Kids have done in the future. Good kids come from good parents!
Hi I want to thank Gridlessness for introducing your channel to me , WOW I love what you are constructing , its amazing , and I would have liked to build a home like that here on a property in Queensland Australia , I think it would be perfect for Aussie conditions !! But alas , age and medical problems rule me out , but I will pass your channel on to my son , who might be interested !! Thank you so much for sharing .
Thanks! Yes lots of fun earthbag things happening in Australia. If you go back to one of our first videos for the house, you'll see that this design was actually inspired by the very first earthbag house in Australia :) Watch this: ua-cam.com/video/8O6L1LFxQ64/v-deo.html and then this: ua-cam.com/video/74n2yVEf11k/v-deo.html
Another great video. Thank you.
Good Morning ☕️
I received my goat goodies from Adali. Thanks!😘 Love the nature shots of spring in bloom!🌈🐞🌵
It's so beautiful there! Buttresses! I like the pretty yellow flowers. I'm so glad you take so much care to do this right guys! Nice job on the buttress! Nice, buttresses done on kitchen wall! Too bad the rain made the buttress wall fall in somewhat. Welcome Levi! I was wondering who you were. Ashley's nephew. Cloud is so chill! Need more dirt! I'm glad you got the three courses done! Yay, finish one more bag! So 18 batches so right in between your guesses! Pretty flowers and cute kids, the goat kind and human kind! Thanks for this video Longnecker family and Levi!
I love how positive and wholesome this channel is 😊
Hey thanks!
It’s sooo good to see you guys back working on the house! I’ve missed you guys a bunch!!! Can’t wait to see the house progress! You guys are super! Love ya!!
Excellent progress, guys!!!😊🎉❤ Bravo 😊😅😂
Have you ever thought about borrowing the bag filler tractor from My Little Homestead??? They have an awesome machine to fill the bags!
Wouldn't really be able to get it close enough with the raised pad and unique shape.
wow harsh , left ya hangin'. lol.
Good morning lovely couple. 😍 greetings from Athens Greece 🇬🇷.
It will be fine you will see. Add yes that is true, thank you stay safe ALL, It will be
I love your videos but must request that if you have beeping footage to lower the volume by half. Us headphone wearers will appreciate that. I had to rip them off it was so sharp. I completely understand that getting every nuance of video making perfect while doing such hard work is very difficult but this tiny tweak and awareness will bring you guys closer to 100% on your awesome production.
Beeping footage? Not really sure what you're talking about. Is there a specific time in the video you can point to where there's something wrong with the audio?
@@TinyShinyHome when you used the laser level twice. I truly don’t like giving you guys criticism because I’m a huge fan of your family, your positivity and your hard work!
Just trying to make it as accurate as possible to the tone screeching sounds those things make in real life 😂. Jokes aside we edit on headphones and it wasn’t any louder than anything else. Maybe you were using wireless headphones and their compression did something weird to it?
Both right and both wrong = sushi for everyone😊
Looking great!
That bee was *loaded* with pollen!
I love seeing cloud sleep-supervising in the midst of it all😀
Thanks for the update on the house! Good to see the progress.
Ashley, you are a hard-working lady... I love watching you, but you are a special lady... always on deck!!!
Jack you are toning down...young lad
Nearly spat out my Coke. ‘It looks good from back here!’😅😅😅
Great photography a d editing today guys! And of course the content. Can wait to see this up and ya'll living in it!
Given how many smart people y'all have, playful with language, and combined with a love of humor, I have to imagine that _butt_-ress has produced some giggles.
Every.single.time 😂
It is a huge cost that may not be reasonable right now. But I was just thinking about how fantastic it would be to have the concrete slab poured after you are a couple courses above your planned floor height. Then you would have a hard flat platform that can easily be swept. And with that hard flat platform, you can use scaffolding to make work easier and safer, since you will have so much work up at high heights. I don’t know if you follow him, but UA-camr Arkopia fell and lost a few months of work while building is latest pole barn. He had scaffolding, but I’m just using him as an example of how bad fall injuries can affect big labor tasks.
Still have quite a few more steps before we're ready to think about pouring a floor :) Mainly it will depend on cost, though since concrete prices have gone through the roof. We may have to focus on what we can do now and save for the floor later.
That totally makes sense. It’s a nicety for easier project management and safety. You already have so much experience doing other buildings without the slab that it isn’t necessary. Just thought I’d share and maybe help your brainstorming. Keep on being awesome, I can’t wait until my family’s life is at a point where we can start our off grid adventure like yours 🤙🏼
That mus`be that newest method called the 'Hokey-Pokey' Tamp method!
"It looks good from back here". 😂 Agree! Nice buttresses! 😉
Could you build a greenery wall with the earth bags by filling them with dirt and seeds like a chia pet? It might look cool.
The roots would probably reduce the structural integrity over time.
@@TinyShinyHome not as part of the house but something you could build separately
Yeah I didn't figure it would be part of the house. But even just a stand alone wall would have the same issues.
Hi from ont Canada
Awesome you lot❤
Love from England ❤
Good going guys👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
Cloud is the best supervisor ever.
Yay house❤
Another Great video!
19:36 or so, seems Uncle is a good influence
Tamp master.
You'all kno that by the time this round-house is all built it'll be ready also for the grandchilren...😮😂😂😂😂🎉❤
You all need to do a new T-Shirt that says, "Everything's fine" on it (unless you already have one).
❤
❤❤❤
Hello 👋 ❤❤❤
Addeli has goats what are the other kids into? I know they all help out,but do they have a passion?
I guessed 18!
Have you ever thought to plant olive trees? They Arizona is a good place. You start an olive oil business maybe.
They use way too much water:)
Thought I would have a look. Seen you on Gridlessness. 👍👍
Welcome!
BTW, @@TinyShinyHomeyou guys are scoreless - heed not any # given to you, not your vibe either. ;)
Do they make a product for your interior walls that could be like a spray on plaster? Keep up the great work❤❤❤
they do but that's not for us. we want to touch every inch of this house with our hands. something special about that added care and love into every build.
🌵💚
Yall need to borrow Bryson’s skid steer bagger thing to make some serious progress this year
hi, i love the videos a lot, very isnpiring.
just a simple question: how to handle termite problem on mud houses? I tried to get the answers in net, but they re not convincing.
Termites are usually more of a wood problem, but you can see in this video we are wrapping the foundation bags in hardware cloth (to keep out rodents) and vapor barrier (to keep the lower bags from wicking up moister into the walls. The vapor barrier should also help protect against termites.
Looks great!
Wondering if you have had any rodent problems with the other bag structures? Seems worth it to put the hardware cloth in, just in case, but those bags seem too hard for rodents to want to live in. Heard of a lot of rodent problems in hay bale structures though
We know of multiple people in the area who have had the issue, yes. That's why we're doing it.
Would be interested to know what orientation you chose to place the house? Such as the entrance faces east?
We shared a lot of that kind of info at the beginning of the build (ua-cam.com/video/8O6L1LFxQ64/v-deo.html), but the main considerations are the kitchen wall facing our mountains (to the west), and the front door being protected from the elements which come from the southwest (so it's facing north east).
What will be the view from the kitchen area?
Mountains. Check out the big picture plan here: ua-cam.com/video/8O6L1LFxQ64/v-deo.html
What does the wire mesh do for the footing?
Rodent barrier
