I bet that if you feed CORE-DATES to you text-to-speech program, it will generate the desired (and correct) pronunciation.
The AI voice brought me back to my early school days in the 60s when the teacher would have a film strip projector that synced to a record. We'd advance the film one frame at a time while a narrator on the record described the slide's content. A chime would sound when it was time to advance the filmstrip. Your AIs voice reminded me of those filmstrips long long ago. Now, time to take some medicine.
Excellent video, as ever, but 'gill', as in fish breathing organ, is pronounced as 'ghill' and not 'jill', which is a girl's name in English.
I apologize for the inconvenience, but I have no control over the pronunciation of the AI. My English proficiency is not sufficient for me to record a video on my own.
There's also "chordate" which should be prounced "kordate". You could try spelling some words phonetically to get correct pronunciation... just a thought.

Please fix your ai text-to-speech. "Chordates" is pronounced "cord-ates". The "Ch" comes from the greek letter Chi.

Fantastic videos! I apologize I was harsh on the AI voice in a prior video, I am now more impressed by your work learning your English language limitations. You are doing a tremendous job! It is unfortunate that most of the comments are criticizing pronunciation but you are incredibly brilliant in the dense science presented so to me the pronunciations are a non-issue and I think any of your repeat viewers agree. I have faith that you will work out these pronunciation issues but even if you don't those of us who are here for the science will continue to be here. I look forward to more!
To be honest, your words really touched me. As a beginner in English, I can only study it in my spare time. I am a Taiwanese person who grew up in Portugal, and I only speak Chinese and Portuguese. This channel is also just a hobby outside of my work. I really like paleontology, and although I'm not a professional, I enjoy studying these things. Oh, I've said too much nonsense. Would it be feasible to edit spelling of certain words for more common pronunciation?
Perhaps it's possible, I'm not sure. English is not my native language, and I don't know how to do that

I can't beleive I have never heard of Vetulicolia before. Bizarre creatures to be sure.
After all, these ancient creatures looked quite random. Perhaps they had no idea how animals should look, so they just chose a style they liked.
Very interesting, by why did you pronounce it "shordates" (incorrect) instead of "cordates" (correct) but do it correctly while pronouncing "cephalochordates"? You have to notice the inconsistency there.
oh so sorry, I can't control the pronunciation of the AI, I will find a way to solve this problem
@@AncientDiscovery Right, I thought that this would be the probably cause - AI trained voice (excellent solution of course). Possibly deliberately writing a phonetic spelling in the script instead of correct spelling would solve such inconsistencies. Like "cordates" would be pronounced correctly in this case.

@5:30 in, noooo lol, you didn't just have your AI voice say, "CHORE-daets?!?" We have a spinal chord, hard 'k' sound. It's "KHOR-daets." Your AI needs lessons.
I am temporarily unable to think of how to teach AI the correct pronunciation.
