Best video I've seen so far on these 2 models ! Best explanations on the differences between these bmw's. Other UA-cam's reviewers botched the job just saying that the RS was the same bike but with a half fairing, but apparently it is more subtle than that... And props to the reviewer for his perfect English ! 😉 (My preferences goes to the RS too)
The fuelling, electronic suspension, torque, balance more than make up for the weight. I have a r1250r much better than my previous GSX S 1000f. Spot on review.
What a great review. I have the RS and recently did the handlebar conversion. For me, the bike just feels more agile and responsive as a result and is also a little more comfortable.
@danrizzotti978 it raises the bars up and back. It's more comfortable, but I think you can achieve that with bar risers on the standard setup. I think it looks better
I have an 2022 RS with bar risers, which really improved maneuvering and, compared to staight bars, I think maintains the bike's aesthetics. What a beast of a bike, though. It's a fantastic sports tourer. I also put on Leo Vince slipon exhaust so it looks better than the mismatched stainless steel exhaust and sounds just a bit more sporty now too.
i have both bikes and there is almost no difference in the handling - he may have had different tyres on their two bikes, (which has an effect ) or just thought they were different because the RS has clip ons and the R has bars ...
Great review. I have never seen one of your reviews previously, your skill with the English language surpasses many who live here in the US. Well done!
Absolutely very high Quality motorcycles!!!, Truly love The Amazing BMW motorcycles!!!, My favorite one of these two Amazing Beasts it's The Spectacular R1250R!!!, Great explanation and video as well, Thanks for sharing!!!
@@oldvaliantdepends on how tall you are and you can adjust the screen. I leave it in the lowest position at 5’10” unless it’s a super windy day and all is good on the RS
Different styles bikes with same engine. The r12 is a retro styled modern classic and the rs is a sport tourer. Different tuning as well with the rs having more HP and torque.
Thanks for the review. Very interested to hear your opinion about the wind buffet issue on the RS. I tested the bike recently and the wind buffet and noise was quite unbearable. Would be great to hear opinions from other owners here also. Many thanks
i have one and it very much depends on your height. Im 6ft and get no helmet buffering with the stock screen in the low position. I also have another taller screen which gives significant buffeting in the low position , but not in the high position...
I have a R1200RS having had a K1200S before this , coming off 170bhp to ‘only’ 125bhp wasn’t such a big drop in the real world and the bike has more than enough to keep up with friends on sports bikes whilst out for a ride yet is comfortable for touring , shaft drive etc with all the bmw extras like gear assist, electronic adjust suspension and I can’t see any reason to upgrade for the 1250 simply to gain 10bhp in the higher revs or the ‘tft’ screen … great bike but I’m more than happy with my older dinosaur ua-cam.com/video/YvIoBemdgxc/v-deo.htmlsi=2c8csvYOXsQJM1Wv
@@VivianThompsonHad a Z900RS in 2019, kinda missed it (or so I though), so sold the BMW to get the Z900RS SE (yellow ball). Great bike, but it's nothing like the bmw.

One of the best r1250r & r/s reviews I’ve seen so far, and, amazing grasp of the English language. Grazie

Does the handlebar conversion alter the riding position a lot? Any adv over the OEM standard cast handlebars?

First review I've seen that mentions the difference of handling and wheelbase between the two models.

I felt the same way, he's english as Italian is superb!
They just used AI to translate the video 😂
Brilliant review!
Great comparison from the twins. RS is a beast on the road with some wind protection.
You forgot to mention that braking from the front activates a 30% distribution on the rear brake.
Thanks for sharing. Useful to know as the 900rs is kind of on my radar.
Superior, comprehensive review.
Excellent review, thank you.

Har en 2020 R1250R hp, alt utstyr inkl, fantastisk sykkel.
For en motor, og med komplett titan Akrapovic , så har jeg ca 150 nm 😎
Good read.
I appreciate the review being in English, cheers.
I chose the RS variant since i'm planning to go on long rides.
Have you experienced any issues with wind buffet/noise?

Love those sport displays. You can adjust that shift light
Very good review.
what's the different between R12 nineT 2024 and the R1250RS 2023 if i am choosing between them?

with the engine sticking out like that, wouldn't it scrap the road when leaning in a curve?
I got to 50 degrees and only touched the foot pegs
no - its a falacy...

Why? What did you move to?
