Hi I have a problem solving the following.
A man left his family 2480000 to share between his wife, son and his twin daughters. Please calculate their inheritance in the ratio 14:3:2:2
To calculate the inheritance of each family member, we need to first add up the ratios' terms to determine the total number of parts in the inheritance:
14 + 3 + 2 + 2 = 21
Next, we divide the total inheritance by the total number of parts to determine the value of each part:
2480000 ÷ 21 = 118095.24
Finally, we multiply each person's share of the inheritance by the value of each part to determine their inheritance:
Wife's share = 14 parts × 118095.24 = 1653333.36
Son's share = 3 parts × 118095.24 = 354285.72
Twin daughters' share = 2 parts × 118095.24 = 236190.48 each
Therefore, the wife's share of the inheritance is 1653333.36, the son's share is 354285.72, and each twin daughter's share is 236190.48.
