I've just looked up the rates at this place and I'm blown away. For what you're showing, this should be a must stay destination. BTW... the standout from your presentation... The morning shots of the remains of sunrise over the gardens and lake with the birds in the background. Just stunning!

All your videos are of the highest quality, perfectly narrated and shot. Thank you so much for these ! Really feel like I'm travelling vicariously through you to these beautiful places.
@@tfft If you stayed at 40 hotels in India, your budget was at least $50-$60,000. Amazing work and a great use of money, better than anywhere else, simply amazing!
Idk when, but I know this channel is going to blow up. The attention to detail is so beautiful, It’s always feels like a love story of TFT and India. Nothing feels out of place. Hope to see you grow more 💖
Your India series is spectacular. What elevates it from other travel vlogs, is that you are making films, ostensibly about a hotel, but also the area, culture and background. With the well chosen soundtrack, it feels more like a National Geographic programme, than a UA-cam review. 👌
I'm mesmerised by not only the hotel, but by your filming, editing and narration skills. Great video man! P.S. as another comment mentioned, I appreciate how you didn't use generic stereotypical "Indian" music for the video.
Stayed one day at their Presidential Suite and 3 days at Oasis Suite, and the experience was amazing! The sunset at Aravali looks magical. Especially from the Presidential Suite''s one of the 4 balconies. It's a fairytale place. The iconic butler service is truly iconic and you can see, they're not "trying", they're genuinely making it great. You got a new subscriber! Cheers to all the beautiful content you make
Thanks a ton Kevin. Among the very few channels that are an inspiration not just for the videos you make, but for the constant quest to quality and refinement. Love your content. Appreciate your efforts.
I travel vicariously through your videos. This one is by far one of my favorites. I enjoy your refreshingly candid reviews, even if I don't always agree with issues raised. It is wonderful to hear that the staff are able to adapt to each traveler, knowing when to be available and when to step back. There are cultural differences in the definition of hospitality, and that is where it gets tricky. Literally being treated like royalty means less privacy. That is something that the customer and service provider need to be aware of.
Second watch. The food! yum. I love the décor and the fact that it's actually new is amazing. I agree, I'm so glad that beautiful hotels are still being built.
Wow! This property looks amazing looking forward to the comparison to the other lake hotel!!! The high touch low vis service is soo hard to pull off! We usually try to do a trip when we visit family this is going to the top of the list!!! Thank you so much for this video and doing it in summer no less!!
Wow Kevin, what a magnificent video, one of your very best in my humble opinion. The content, photography, narrative and the perfect background music were all truly amazing. Thank you so much for sharing.
Thanks for posting this video Kevin. This is the first hotel video that has made me want to visit straight away. What a perfect destination property. For a new build it's incredible. 👍✈️
Love this channel. I’m doing some binge watching. Love your delivery and vast knowledge. Every once in a while I’m caught off guard and you say something that makes me chuckle.
We’ve been to Raffles Singapore some 9 times, visit #10 is next year. The service is second to none and how we measure all other luxury hotels we stay in. The fact things are done before you think of them, with dedicated unobtrusive staff that make you feel individual is a talent so many premium hotels can learn from. Kevin, your videos are some of the best on UA-cam on a par of The Luxury Travel Expert. Superbly filmed not too much narration and good music to accompany the visuals. You deserve a lot more success and followers than you currently have. But that’s my just opinion. Oh and your Metropole Hanoi has convinced us us to stay there next year, we’ve booked!
I first read that you've been to the Raffles Udaipur 9 times, which shocked me haha. But yes, Singapore is much easier to believe haha. Can't wait to go there myself someday. Enjoy the Metropole!
Thank you so much for your reviews. They are just so honsest that they really help us to chose our destinations. This hotel is my favorite of your Udaipur vid's. Good job. Thank you so much
I have no idea what your current-Amarvillas review will be like, but I had the chance to visit the site when it was being built and around its opening, some 22 years ago, and the emotions I had then are what this video evokes.
As I mentioned in my community post, my Amarvilas experience was one of the best I’ve ever had. A hotel that truly no matter the price, is likely worth the splurge. Thanks for watching 🩴
Your video created a surreal experience. It genuinely felt like I was traveling alongside you. The cinematography was outstanding. Just awesome. Like and support from Bangalore.
Hey Kevin, thank you for doing this Rajasthan series; very excited for it. As grand as this Raffles is, and it is quite grand I must say…I think this is still the 4th best option in Udaipur behind Taj, Oberoi & Leela. Ive had a chance to stay at all 4 :)
Although I'm not sure traveling to and reviewing luxury hotels and resorts goes with the channel name, I enjoyed this review and you just got yourself a new subscriber. I also see that you take the time to respond to each comment (at least for now), and that is something not everyone does.
The Flip Flops refer to my aversion to pretentious vibes. I love beautiful hotels, but if I’m not allowed to visit with just a pair of flip flops, you’ll likely not find me there (with a few historical exceptions…). Thanks for watching 🩴
I think the fact that places like these are still getting built is more of a testament to Oberoi, Taj and Leela more so than Raffles. If those 3 didn't exist, Raffles would have never built something grand like this. They had to built this to compete with an actual palace (Taj) and 2 properties which were voted "world's best" (Oberoi & Leela)
Hmmm... on premise I may agree... but the fact that the Raffles is overall a higher quality experience than Oberoi and/or Taj (in Udaipur) I think says more about them than it does about Raffles. Thanks for watching 🩴
I agree with you. None of the hotels from the western countries would even dream of ever building hotels as grand as that done by Taj, Oberoi, or Leela Palace. One simple reason, is Indians care for hospitality, environment, and displaying luxury at its finest. The best hotels in the west is all about show and glamor with mediocre service.
I stayed at the same property at almost same time as you did for 3 nights. Power cut was there but only a few times during my stay (4-5 times over 3 days). Service was exceptional and yes that closet was irritating. Your way of reviewing hotels and the quality of content you make is Very Impressive, not seen anywhere else on youtube. Looking forward for your other videos as well..
Yeah, the power problems are slightly unacceptable at this price range, especially given their access to reliable and strong solar power, they clearly had the budget for it. Nevertheless, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. As always, exceptionally well made video. Greetings from Bangalore/Philadelphia.
Kudos for being in 2 places at once! 😂 But yes, I agree. The power issues were unacceptable for the price I paid, but considering the average rates during high season are triple that- it's REALLY unacceptable. Hope they've already fixed it. Thanks for watching 🩴
That's a great point. I mean they're using electric boats already, why not go all in on solar and a large enough battery backup system to render the power outages a thing of the past? Seems a logical investment. And agree, I would expect no power outages at that price point. Aside from that, great review. India always seems like such a chaotic place filled with pollution and questionable hygiene. This definitely paints it in a different light. Not sure it sold me on going but I'd least consider it. Cheers!
I wanted to visit this hotel on my Udaipur trip but I wasn't able to. we tried to go there for a Tea Break but it was during Christmas eve and had costed very much You did a very nice video. It has a very spacious gardens. and some of the rooms rooms have private pools. It has VERY COOL Interiors. and my Favourite Hotel Lobby. But I wish I will go there after my Main Exams are finished the Next Year in March.
Another lovely video Kevin, thank you. It made me laugh when you said that it wasn't particularly hot. Realistically, sightseeing in that temperature would not be pleasant I think. There seems to be a new fashion for bathrooms in hotels to be dressed as if worn by Napoleon Bonaparte😂
An amazing and revered review! As a resident of India living in New Delhi, I always wonder where in the World you could be.. since I am someone who found you when you were a smaller vlogger/trip reviewer. This report just proves it even more. I have always loved the fact that you are always honest with your reviews and give your honest and unbiased opinion. I visited Udaipur for a family trip this summer in May, and I definitely agree with you. the heat is EXHAUSTING and you're also right about the lights going out a lot. The hotel I stayed at was connected to an abandoned mall, and you could hear weird noises at night. Besides that, Udaipur is a beautiful city.
Exceptional video! I was truly captivated by the in-depth review you provided. Yet, when it comes to the pinnacle of 5-star resorts in Udaipur, Raffles Udaipur falls short in terms of architectural finesse and style. Its design lacks the refinement and taste that discerning travelers seek. Leela Udaipur, though a close second, exudes grandeur but somehow misses the mark when it comes to genuine charm. It's as if it's trying too hard to impress, lacking that authentic allure that sets extraordinary places apart. Now, when you step into The Oberoi Udaivilas, you're instantly transported to a world of unparalleled beauty. The meticulously designed surroundings are adorned with stunning details that will leave you in awe. It's a testament to opulence done right. But when we talk about the crown jewel of Udaipur, there's no disputing it's the Taj Lake Palace. While the rooms may be on the cozier side and space a bit limited, you're residing in an authentic palace that has stood proudly for over two centuries. It's an irreplaceable piece of history and a masterclass in charm and elegance. Don't squander your hard-earned money on Raffles or Leela; they lack the unique character that sets Udaipur apart. Instead, if you're a first-time visitor to this majestic city, let the Taj Lake Palace be your sanctuary. Its rich history, enchanting charm, and timeless elegance will make your stay unforgettable. It's not just another hotel; it's a living piece of Udaipur's soul.
That was just stunning as far as the three issues you raised well for India that is truly only minor, all that kept going through my mind was wow wow wow
Excellent video describing the overall ambiance, and I especially like your rating system, taking in the cost as one of the deciding factors. Only one question: when you quote a room rate, does it include the standard taxes, fees, etc.? Now off to your next video.
I’m watching this from my hotel room in the same hotel while writing this .Beautiful property , excellent food & accomodation. No sign boards to guide you. The staff needs to be trained. I guess they will improve with time.
That sunrise 🥰 Looks incredible. Raffles Singapore is on my bucket list too. You'd think they'd have solar panels and batteries (apologies if I missed that part)
Another jewel! Thank you for such an honest and detailed review. Every corner of the property looks stunning. 🤩The service is polished (kudos to the training and development team - they've done a great job too)! The plunge pool room looks like something made for me as I love to be in a pool just by myself and not 20 other guests.. ;) The room interior is thoughtful even though the size is a bit small, but I think that is compensated by the plunge pool and the beautiful bathroom. I also agree that they should be providing branded amenities and not generic ones - perhaps "Forest Essentials" would be a good option hehe 😉 I felt the breakfast buffet area to be a tad bit tiny and the offerings were very selective. Nevertheless, as long as they have a menu which changes daily, I think guests won't get bored. Maybe you should also try the Oberoi Udaivillas? hehehe😛
As always your video is a visual delight and the background music is so soothing. Lovely presentation of a great property next on our bucket list. Thanks
I had been to Udaipur recently and I was excited to see this video when it popped up! Amazing as always. Given the stay you had at this high end hotel and the high price you would pay for such a stay - do you also tip staff? Im curious as I come from a country where tipping is a foreign concept and I don’t often feel obliged to do it but I found when I was in India two months ago I felt pressured to tip. Interested to hear your thoughts.
I have two personal rules about tipping: 1. Do as is customary in the country you are visiting, not your home country. 2. If the option is to give $2 to five staff or $10 to one (amazing) staff, go for the latter.
I think all the superlative's have already been used. It was stunning, beautifull, and trying very hard to please. Thank you for this review. A Hotel that is well worth the price tag.
I cannot fathom the kind of investment that went into building this. Like you said, I'm delighted as well, that such masterpieces are being made in this day and age. I only hope that it is a smart business decision and the hotel lasts for a long long time ( Q: Why cant I see anyone else staying in the hotel 🤔 )
My number one priority when filming is to get the best footage I can, without making any guests feel uncomfortable- so I always film during odd times to ensure this.
Please visit The Oberoi Udayvilas thats rated as one of the best hotels in the World ! Also dont miss The Taj Lake Palace Udaipur.. These two hotels are must checkouts please stay there before you leave.. Dying to see your reviews on those Hotels for long time! ❤❤ Love your videos😊
@@tfft Wow waiting eagerly to watch tour reviews on these property and Also please visit Taj Hotel Palace Mumbai ..and Taj Falaknuma palace Hyderbad another 2 Heritage properties of India that holds history.. you will love those as well
Thanks for another Lush and Evocative Production .. this place looks like a delightful and ‘fragrant’ spot to mellow out and do almost nothing.. but even if I could afford to stay there , the huge number of power cuts might well be a deal breaker .. maybe much worse in high or peak season ? But whatever our views on that one , by gosh I could really murder a decent curry right now … 😂.. Peace …✌🏻
Beautiful place. Curious. When you were with entourage approaching the island were you questioned about your filming? I know and appreciate your staying anonymous so was curious about that.
Nah. The day I arrive at a hotel I just film handheld. No gimbal or other equipment. At that point I just look like a traveller documenting a great trip! Thanks for watching 🩴
Thank you for your great travel content! I have just stayed at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore and it was great. However, F&B service and breakfast was disappointing and not up to what would one expect at this price point.
@andreasvolland4730 the MO Singapore has a video on the channel and have stayed at the MO in Bangkok a couple times, but it was before I had the channel (and before it was $800/night 😂)
MO in Singapore is just newly renovated and they did an absolute beautiful job. Stayed there last weekend. Everything in the room smelled new and the breakfast buffet was the best so far of all hotels I stayed yet. Please keep doing these videos. I can tell how much work and passion goes into them. Best wishes from Germany 🇩🇪 🙏🏻☺️
Wow, what a beautiful place! Is it wheelchair accessible? Didn't see any ramps or handrails in the video and that strikes me as a bit strange, seeing that it's a recent building. Around 1 billion people have some kind of disability- including quite a few who can afford a hotel such as Raffles. I wish more hotels would take them into account when developing new ones -or renovating existing places.
From my observations, it is entirely wheelchair accessible. Generally for any of my hotel/resort videos, if I DON'T mention accessibility, it means the hotel is accessible. If I see a potential issue with accessibility, I always speak about it directly in the video. Thanks for watching 🩴
Perfect, thank you. I was watching the boat trip to the island and was wondering how to get a wheelchair on it. Also, so many stairs! Since I had my spinal stroke in 2018 travelling has become a lot more difficult. I always watch out for concrete steps with handrails leading into the pool, for instance. No way can I climb out of it on one of those metal ladders. It would be fun to watch though.@@tfft
Daamn This UA-cam Algo, They just made you disappear from my list or wishlist, Superb Video with loved those tiny tiny details you hinted here, One question though, Your Suggestions or your complains in each trip reports of Hotels, do you submit them to the House Keeping Chief or the Manager at the Hotel ?? Please reply, many thanks again for this splendid report and bless you more good times in my Country.
If you watch consistently, it won't disappear lol. If someone asks me while I'm at the resort, 100% of the time I will give full feedback, though sometimes I save some until check out if it might make things uncomfortable. If no one asks, my mouth stays closed.
Hey thanks for the detailed video. I'm still watching it but had to comment to ask about the music used in the backgroud at 15:00 I have read the description but couldn't find this music on youtube. If you could share a link that would be appreciated
@@tfft that fridge was made like Frankenstein. They could have used for such space so many options like Sub Zero, IMC, Glastender, True. But chose that. 🙈

I agree about Leela and Udaivilas, but I reckon you'll be very surprised about my impression of the Lake Palace lol. Thanks for watching 🩴
@@tfft Ha! Can't wait :)
This bgm ...is soo apt and absolutely the hotel is awesome ....😍🥰
Very Nicely made videos . Kudos for you talent and good work !
Appreciate that!
Thanks, that's wonderful
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
Superb...and very helpful.
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
That was just stunning as far as the three issues you raised well for India that is truly only minor, all that kept going through my mind was wow wow wow
Thanks for watching 🩴
Excellent video describing the overall ambiance, and I especially like your rating system, taking in the cost as one of the deciding factors. Only one question: when you quote a room rate, does it include the standard taxes, fees, etc.? Now off to your next video.
The price I publish always includes all taxes and fees. Thanks for watching 🩴
Awesome property and a beautifully shot hotel review. I hope they can get on top of the power cuts though
I’m watching this from my hotel room in the same hotel while writing this .Beautiful property , excellent food & accomodation. No sign boards to guide you. The staff needs to be trained. I guess they will improve with time.
Breathtaking such beauty greetings from the Netherlands
Appreciate that!
That sunrise 🥰 Looks incredible. Raffles Singapore is on my bucket list too. You'd think they'd have solar panels and batteries (apologies if I missed that part)
They may have had them, but if they did- they certainly weren't functioning well haha. Thanks for watching 🩴
I am from Udaipur. Thanks for making this beautiful video.
Thanks very much for watching! Hope you share the video with everyone in Udaipur 😉
The hotel is aimed at billionaire family weddings of which there are many in Rajasthan.
Thanks for watching 🩴
Another jewel! Thank you for such an honest and detailed review. Every corner of the property looks stunning. 🤩The service is polished (kudos to the training and development team - they've done a great job too)! The plunge pool room looks like something made for me as I love to be in a pool just by myself and not 20 other guests.. ;) The room interior is thoughtful even though the size is a bit small, but I think that is compensated by the plunge pool and the beautiful bathroom. I also agree that they should be providing branded amenities and not generic ones - perhaps "Forest Essentials" would be a good option hehe 😉
I felt the breakfast buffet area to be a tad bit tiny and the offerings were very selective. Nevertheless, as long as they have a menu which changes daily, I think guests won't get bored. Maybe you should also try the Oberoi Udaivillas? hehehe😛
Around 10 properties from India coming up. All teased on my Commmunity tab. Thanks for watching 🩴
@@tfft aha found it! The caption for the Udaivilas is very cryptic so I need to wait for it 😁 hope it wasn't too bad though 😊
As always your video is a visual delight and the background music is so soothing. Lovely presentation of a great property next on our bucket list. Thanks
Thanks very much 🙏🏻
I had been to Udaipur recently and I was excited to see this video when it popped up!
I have two personal rules about tipping:
Haha I agree. Thanks for watching 🩴
Wow this is really very amazing
Appreciate that!
The views.. oh my lord😍
Yes!
Check my Community feed for all of my upcoming videos, including the 2 you mentioned. Thanks for watching 🩴
@@tfft Wow waiting eagerly to watch tour reviews on these property and Also please visit Taj Hotel Palace Mumbai ..and Taj Falaknuma palace Hyderbad another 2 Heritage properties of India that holds history.. you will love those as well
Taj Palace Mumbai is already on the channel 😉
Thanks for another Lush and Evocative Production .. this place looks like a delightful and ‘fragrant’ spot to mellow out and do almost nothing.. but even if I could afford to stay there , the huge number of power cuts might well be a deal breaker .. maybe much worse in high or peak season ? But whatever our views on that one , by gosh I could really murder a decent curry right now … 😂.. Peace …✌🏻
Perhaps, but I think the problem is more about the heat than the occupancy levels. Thanks for watching 🩴
What camera do u use kevin? the low light shots are very good
iPhone 14PM & 13PM for this video. Thanks for watching 🩴
Breathtakingly beautiful setting! Thanks for bringing it to those of us who will probably never see it for real. It must have been so tough to leave!!
It certainly was! Thanks for watching 🩴
Going to be there for 4 days this July. I will hold you for any service deficiency coz you've captured everything so beautifully.
My hands are clean lol
Its fantastic place that I ever seen before
Thanks for watching 🩴
Beautiful place. Curious. When you were with entourage approaching the island were you questioned about your filming? I know and appreciate your staying anonymous so was curious about that.
Nah. The day I arrive at a hotel I just film handheld. No gimbal or other equipment. At that point I just look like a traveller documenting a great trip! Thanks for watching 🩴
Your Videos are Amazing and Keep making amazing videos. Please visit South India.
Have some south India videos on the channel already. Thanks for watching 🩴
Thank you for your great travel content! I have just stayed at the Raffles Hotel in Singapore and it was great. However, F&B service and breakfast was disappointing and not up to what would one expect at this price point.
That's disappointing to hear. Thanks for watching 🩴
@@tfft You need to try out the Mandarin Oriental in Singapore or Bangkok. I can highly recommend those two hotels.
Best wishes from Germany 🇩🇪 🙏🏻☺️
great video and so stunning...BTW @9:05 just curious why is the guy walking backwards?
He must be moon walking 😉 Thanks for watching 🩴
Beautiful. Wow.i appreciate...
Thanks for watching 🩴
Many Thanks
Wonderful 😊👏
Thanks for watching 🩴
Phenomenal ❤
Thanks for watching 🩴
Hey thanks for the detailed video. I'm still watching it but had to comment to ask about the music used in the backgroud at 15:00 I have read the description but couldn't find this music on youtube. If you could share a link that would be appreciated
All of the music is use is from Artlist.io… it won’t be available on UA-cam. Thanks for watching 🩴
I liked the cheap bar fridge at 26:04 in the writers bar. Maybe they could find something better. Where did they get it from Chore Bazar ?
Perhaps they're trying to balance the design :)
@@tfft that fridge was made like Frankenstein. They could have used for such space so many options like Sub Zero, IMC, Glastender, True. But chose that. 🙈
Beautiful
Thanks for watching 🩴
Thank you ✈️
Thanks for watching 🩴
Very Interesting!
where is the buzz from the other occupants in the breakfast/dining rooms?
I always film during off peak hours so I don't disturb other guests. Thanks for watching 🩴
Agreed!
However, it brings a different feeling, I believe. At least for a few seconds@@tfft
What kind of video equipment do you use?
iPhones. Thanks for watching 🩴
