Just love the resurgence of Atari happening atm
It's cool, they've been pumping out rereleases for years but the new owners/management are actually pushing quality now which is great.
I actually look forward to Intellivision mini systems since emulation will never have the unique control system.
No, in the bible it's one of the signs of the impending end of the world!
The silver box art for Adventure is a reproduction image that was made for the Launch Box software by community members. There were quite a few made with art work sourced from real box art. Also there's a few websites printing and selling reproduction boxes using the very same artwork. Looks like My Arcade are being a little loose with other peoples work and not doing their due diligence.
I had that RetroGamer issue! The art was fantastic.
That's an amazing form factor, where the pixels can really shine
"got, got, need, got, need, need, got"
That bit was awesome for how retro it was ❤ 😎🆒
Hope you keep those stickers. I would use them for something if it were me!
Looks nice but honestly i wouldnt get more than £10 of fun out of one of these, definitely not the preferable way to play and no Retroachiements (which adds SO much to 2600, giving goals other than just beating your score. I thought 2600 was too old to have value before getting on RA and completing dozens of 2600 games and coming to really love the system)
You've really got to think you could put homebrew 2600 to fill out the numbers. There are plenty of freeware titles with authors who would have been happy to be on here. Very sad. Famiclone sucks but 2600 homebrew has a lot of really great stuff that's as good or better than 99% of the actual library.
I personally think 7800 games should have been on here as they are also on the Atari 50 compilation, but homebrew stuff could have worked too.
Great video as always! If they removed the abysmal "bonus games" and stuck with the single button instead of two, then I think they could have been onto a winner. Close but no cigar :-) Keep up the awesome work!
It should have had 7800 games instead of the Famiclone crap.
@@TheLairdsLairJust say no to Famiclones. 🙂
I suppose with it coming with 100 games, for the price it may have some appeal. But that screen size just makes me think about the squinting. With the games occupying so little storage space though, a larger collection would have been very easy to include. I suspect that next year, once the appeal has worn off for many, these will be seen in the second-hand and charity shops for a bargain price.
I'd love to see these mini arcades at thrift stores where I am but it will never happen.
Bro I love your content ! never stop !
The content with commentary is fantastic agreed ❤ it's up there with RoseTintedSpectrum for retro content!
I enjoy your channel almost as much as RoseTintedSpectrum ❤
Damning with faint praise.
That Contra pocket game was supposed to be hacked to play other arcade games in tate (vertical) format. Unfortunately, the project seems to have been cancelled, or at least hasn't been updated in years.
Interesting!
I tried reaching out to the guy in the video who did that but he never got back to me.
the 1/4 in audio connector output, is it for stereo or mono?
Well the 2600 has mono sound, so kind of irrelevant, but the sound comes through both headphones.
What I don't understand is why a mini-arcade console designed for vintage Atari games would place the stick on the left, and the buttons on the right, the opposite of a CX10/CX40 controller. (and virtually every controller for Atari, Commodore, TI and Apple during the golden age of these very games, until Nintendo switched things up permanently)
Seems designed by folks who were not yet born the first time around. "Atari" (more acurately 'My Arcade') is less about nostalgia and more about revenue generation through the milking of old mares. I'll stick to real-iron thank you very much.
Centipede sounds are not right I don’t think
there’s kastone kapers?
No, only Atari games, not Activision ones.

of LCD game and not that great um better than I thought it would be though to be fair so that's the poster we've looked
Interesting to note that most of the games promoted on the box weren't joystick games.
Good point!
