BG Music:
Brad & Lex, you'll love their "Jet Airliner" !!! It has one of the great intros of all-time!!
Just ensure that it's the unedited version.
*Threshold,,,,😎
From Phoenix, Arizona all the way to Dacona, Philadelphia, Atlanta, LA
Hell yeah great tune
@@FUBAR1986 I always thought that it was Tacoma. Oh well! Lol
I love the Steve Miller Band! Such happy music.
Feelin' down? Put on some Steve Miller Band 👍
One of my all-time favorite albums
yeah, the whistling here makes me think of Harpo Marx!
I'm an 80's baby and I always associated their music with having a good time even as a kid 😂😂
Love this song, another great song from Steve Miller Band include Jet Airliner, Swingtown, Rock N’ Me, and the original Fly Like An Eagle
One of my favourites by Steve. The bass line in this is wicked and fun to play.🤟🤟👍
I've always really liked the drumming in this song.
Gary Mallaber!
Steve Miller is a severely underrated guitarist and songwriter, and his live shows always delivered. He performed with virtually the same band for decades, and all six times I saw them, from 1979 to 2015, they were great. If you don't at least own his greatest hits album, your music collection is not complete.
wayyyyyyy underappreciated
I can't hear this song anymore without thinking of the episode of Everybody Loves Raymond where they are dancing to this 😆
"The policeman's ball!"
Yes! I was going to comment the same thing! 😂
@@753131hs Same. LOL
Always loved the intro on this…. When this album came out, I was living in Texas…. Stopped at red lights. All the windows rolled down, drop the cassette in of this, and just laugh at everybody, looking around to see who was whistling…… Thanks for the great memories.
Yeah man. Blaring this while driving around. What great times way back at 20 years old lol.
The intro sounds like Angel,s Masterpiece Tower. But much shorter.
@@ssRocker-nn3tp yes it does. They had some good stuff back in the day. Their album Helluva Band was dadgum good too.
@@jeffreyflint6286 The first two albums are Classics. Tower, Long Time, Broken Dreams, Mariner, Sunday Morning, The Fortune [ Masterpiece ], Feelings, Mirrors and Pressure Point, are great songs on the first two albums. Timeless.
@@ssRocker-nn3tp Absolutely! The first two were amazing!
Everything is better than wet. Yes. Steve Miller is always a treat!
Love Steve Miller Band! The music is just so good!
Steve Miller is Da Man!
Steve Miller Band has so many amazing hits. I have one of their compilation CDs and I don't skip a single tune. They're all great!
There are literally 100’s of destination islands to visit for vacationing throughout the tropics! Especially the Caribbean, Polynesian, Bahamas, Philippines, etc.
"Jungle Love" can be heard as the intro theme of some episodes of "Everybody Loves Raymond".
Steve miller had a colorful upbringing. His father was a jazz enthusiast and an accomplished amateur recording engineer. Was friends and was regulars at his home. Guitar virtuoso Les Paul , T-Bone Walker, Muddy Waters, Howlin' Wolf, and Buddy Guy, too name a few, He also was friends as teenager's with Boz Scaggs and Steve taught box scaggs to play the guitar so they could start a band. That steve was kicked out of. Steve then went to the University of Copenhagen in Denmark Steve dropped out six credit hours shy of a literature degree, opting to pursue a music career. In 1966, he formed the Steve Miller Band. Boz later joined Steve Miller band.. They backed Chuck Berry on his tour. His first hit single was "Livin' in the USA" Includes a guest appearance on bass guitar, drums, and backing vocals by Paul McCartney (as Paul Ramon) . A very colorful upbringing. Id say. Sorta like I grew up. With a father in the music biz. You never knew who be in the house at any given time..🤘
Leave it to Brad to focus on the line "Everything's better when wet." That threw Lexi off. 😆
This is the first time I've seen Lex give Brad the creep look.
FYI: That's an old advertising slogan. I forget which brand or product, but that's what he was drawing on. It's a line with a smirk.
Yeah that cracked me up 🤣
Yes her alarm bells went off. Poor Brad just reacted like a natural 70's man, completely unaware...yet honest:) Unfortunately...or ...fortunately???????
@@mikewalker7385 The stink eye!
Probably my fav by Steve Miller Band
The song was written by Lonnie Turner (longtime bass player for the Steve Miller Band) and Greg Douglass (a well-known San Francisco sideman who also played with Hot Tuna and Greg Kihn, among many others). It reached No. 23 on the Billboard Hot 100.
According to Greg Douglass, Turner and Douglass originally wrote the song for Dave Mason. Turner gave a demo of the record to Miller, who liked it, and the Steve Miller Band (with Douglass playing guitar) recorded it in 30 minutes on the last day of recording for Book of Dreams
Cash Box called it "a hard-rocking, energetic tune" and said that "the vocal here is delivered with a shout, but carefully orchestrated instruments, especially the organ, make a clear statement of each melodic hook."
(Wikipedia)
Ive always loved the bass play in this song.
Brad was NOT thinking of Florida with the "everything's better when wet" line. (Lex is such a good girl.)
🔥
Yay more Steve Miller please. Great reaction thanks
Morris day and the news had a great song called Jungle love.
Written by prince if I'm not mistaken. Don't quote me on that though. 😂
The Time. Morris Day and the Time. And yes, it was written (and performed) by Prince, with Morris Day on vocals. The Time was Morris Day's touring band.
@@mournblade1066 can't believe I said the news, lol.
I knew it was the time. Must've had Huey Lewis in the back of my mind.😂
@@TheRetroManRandySavage Heh heh, it's all good.
SMB had some great songs, and this one is my particular favorite! Great review guys. Lex shows her innocence again ;)
Steve Miller music is great for road trips.
I love Steve Miller Band, can't go wrong with them!!
Gets you moving every time
So many hit singles. Good stuff. I call it soft rock
Like San Pedro island, the island Madonna sings about in the song La Isla Bonit, meaning the beautiful island. And yes it is popular with song celebrities ... lol. Plus some movies were shot there and at least one survivor I believe.
The Jungle could be a Metaphor.
Through history a lot of song writers have used metaphors to describe their ideas.
Love this song! I could see it being used in a Tarantino film when a violent, bloody fistfight ensues at a poolhall.
Haha! 😉😄👍
Also served as the tune in the final season of Everybody Loves Raymond, and it somehow fit there, too.
so good, one of their best songs, out of many songs
One of My ALL-TIME FAVORITE BANDS
BANGGGERRRRRRRR!!! 😊 FROM HIS GREAT ALBUM ( BOOK OF DREAMS ) 😊
This was pure pop rock, but he did say he would write a poem, and the poem was nice.
LOL...Steve was my Boss in the early to mid 80's. I worked on his near 800 acre Ranch in (North of) Williams, Oregon. I still wish I had property like that. He sold it in 1986 and I went on my way.
Definitely one of my favorite songs from Steve Miller Band!! This whole album is awesome!!
I L O V E when Brad IS Smiiling ! : D
Everything that The Steve Miller Band did was always outstanding.
Love Steve Miller Band. Thank you
used to see Steve out on his boat in lake washington time to time, maybe at Ivars on the lake, he moved out to the san juans kicked it there for a while he has since moved to where I dunno but he is till touring or was pre 19.. had his greatest hits on the cassette player a lot I need to dload more of his stuff and get it on the stick...
You can never go wrong with Steve Miller
Always loved this album!! So many hits! Peace, Love!!
Can't hear this song without thinking of Everybody Loves Raymond.
I was in the Navy when this album came out, played it constantly for months and its still on my phone.
Used to love the intro on my buddy's discrete quad 8 track system, after a bit of wacky tobaccy of course. Speakers in the corners and party in the center. Sigh.
Had a 1973 GMC Suburban, with our Pioneer Super-Tuner under the dash and Jensen Tri-axials in all four corners. My friends would fight to find the exact center of the car to hear the whistles from all sides, especially the ending one. Good times.
Steve Miller band are awesome. Play some more. Love your reactions Brad and Lex
The first time I heard this was the theme for the late season of everybody loves Raymond
In 1975-76, The Steve Miller Band recorded enough material for two LPs. They could have released a double album. Or they could have released one album of the best material and that album would be in many discussions of all-time Rock albums.
They divided the material into two albums and released "Fly Like an Eagle" in '76 and "Book of Dreams" in '77.
In 1978, they issued a 14-track greatest hits album that had only one earlier song ["The Joker"] and 13 songs from those 75/76 sessions.
Straight up pop/rock from the mid-late seventies...
Well that's bungle in the jungle...well that's alright by me!
When I was younger I thought he was saying Chug a Lug Strawberry Man 😂
Book Of Dreams great LP.
Love it!!
My #1 fave from this band! I can't sit still when this song plays! 🎸🥁
Sometimes it's just best not to over analyze. 😆
Either way you go, its legit. Trust me 🤣
man thats it, just feel the vibe and enjoy
One of the funniest episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond is when they are all dancing to this song. I crack up every time I hear this song now because I think of that show. 😂
So killer
Richard Branson owned an Island in the 70's, probably still does, many a rock stars went. Sting went there to lick his wounds and make an album.
Livin In The USA with Boz in the band. Dallas Texas and Woodrow Wilson High Schools own.
Love this song. Thanks! ☮️💟💟💟💟💟💟
came out in the 70s..Steve's greatest hits was in heavy rotation at 90s parties I was at
I saw this band play an outdoor concert in the rain in KC when the opening act wouldn't play.
Jungle Love is just me in the Amazon rainforest hugging a cannabis plant while chugging pizza rolls.
No one realizes, THE Steve Miller's band represents the time of tripping and 'high' on you know what.
What a great couple, Brad and Lex. You are very complimentary to each other. Peace and Love!
I used to work for his best friend (Tom Wishon, he actually played drums on a few tracks) back around 2008-09. Steve Miller would show up a few times a year, really nice and funny man. Great music too...
You should listen to Steve Miller's Greatest Hits start to finish... one of the few albums that just rocks start to finish. Happy New Year! :)
Dance Dance Dance
The Stake, great raunchy guitar. Plenty more miller tunes just as good or better. Depending your flavor
Some people call me Maurice. ;) The Joker. Steve Miller's Greatest Hits disc was a staple in my youth from summers spent on rivers and lakes in south east Missouri.
Love Steve Miller also on everybody loves Raymond when they jam out to this song on one episode.
now were going !
Bugel Love...in the Jungel
they have so many good songs. one of their greatest hits albums is almost all classics
LOL LEX
Need to hear Morris Day’s version….., it rocks!!
Love this song . My favourite S.M.B song.
I see this one celebrity guy who sits on couch 🛋️ listening to music 🎶 with a pretty-pregnant girl. I think his name is Brad 😊
Lex is instant wife material. My thoughts during this video 🤣
You all got a jungle theme going on today
It is fun to play the beginning of this song for your dog. Try it.
I'd forgotten how good that guitar riff is. I'm going to figure it out.
They don't call him Stevie 'Guitar' Miller for nothing
@@ShaunHensley He isn't playing guitar on this song, and didn't write it either
@@blindriv3r I guess they do call him Stevie 'Guitar' Miller for nothing then, in that case
There are many jungles throughout the world people go to regularly, i.e., the islands of Hawaii 😂😂🤣
Good Lord!!
I love the riff, the drums, the whistle solo at the end and Brad coming up with something that has to do with nothing about the song and then says “I don’t know “.
My quick interpretation of the lyrics is he's in love with a female player. Great tune. Steve's typical great California guitar sound, like the 1950s meets the 70s. Love the tempo and lyrics. "Swingtown" by Steve Miller has an epic drum beat.
Welcome to the jungle
There are a ton of island the Philippines has over7K islands mostly jungles. Or met her in Jamaica possibly? Tons of options to meet here on a Island, in Jungles.
Space Cowboy...Take The Money And Run....Threshold/Jet Airliner....Swing Town....Abracadabra
LOL, Brad is a Florida man... so am I. 😎
That like that dark
If you were white and lived in the suburbs in the '70s/'80s, you had the following albums: Eagles Greatest Hits 1971-1975, Aerosmith Greatest Hits, Fleetwood Mac - Rumors, and Steve Miller Band Greatest Hits 1974-1978
MORE( STEVE MILLER ) BAND!!! 😊 WILD MOUNTAIN HONEY, THE WINDOW, SWINGTOWN, THE STAKE 😊 THERE'S 2 FROM ( FLY LIKE AN EAGLE & BOOK OF DREAMS ) YOU GUYS!
I've been a huge Steve miller fan since 1975. But, this is the last song I would recommend to someone who had never heard Steve Miller before . nevertheless, this is band kicks ass.
You'll like Abracadabra too.
Another song that shows just how good the 1970's were musically, followed by an equally awesome decade. You just won't find anything like this again.....
Volkswagen Beetle with a stereo system that was worth more than the car and this song as high as it would go
Cascada Ready For Love Please
Check Serenade next. One of my favourites.
