I love that Ezra speaks his hate for woods golf. Not enough pros will say that, but I respect it so much.
Design and upkeep is critical for woods golf, man. The difference between a great course and an overly punishing slog is pretty small.

Yeah I feel like they should just take some of the winnings and pay out the top 10 players from the season for being top 10 and then use the rest of the money and have a normal tour championship for all the people that earned a chance to play.

I hate it is the end of the season, I have enjoyed watching you two guys preview the courses. It is actually my favorite thing to watch even over the actual tournament. I was able to attend the Rock Hill tournament last Friday which was my first disc golf tournament. I was hoping for three things, to be able to see both of you guys play and possibly meet Robbie C. Luckily Robbie was working at the foundation tent, so I got to meet him and then something happened very unexpected. I watched Ezra tee off from number one and followed him for several holes. I was then making my way back to hole number one to check out Goose’s start time which was about 25 minutes away. I was walking along the path that goes along side of hole three headed toward hole one tee when I heard someone coming up behind me I turned around and I couldn’t believe it. It was Goose. We briefly chatted as he was on his way to the practice tee, but took time to take a quick photo., made my weekend. Thanks Goose😊 I hope to see you guys this Friday at The Nightmare.

I think I’ve said this before, but I hope so much, that he helps design and make decisions for courses on the pro tour later on in his career. If you don't have plans for your off season. You should think about coming to New Zealand for the Tour down under. Mid January to mid February. 4 tournaments on the tour. Not a bad pre season. It's Summer time here too.

These are incredible previews. The breakdowns are so academic and thoughtful.
I like the advantage. Of course I love watching close tournaments, but it also is satisfying seeing someone be rewarded for great play. Also the possibility of a chase down is worth it.

Most holes at Nevin are sucker shots off the tee - backhands that look like forehands, reverse, position shots that make you want to go for it. Rewards smart play! Second half of flight lets you know what to throw.
I have a oak tree in my front yard , and its about 6 to 7 ft in diameter. Thing is a beast of a tree.
Totally agree with Aaron's comments at around 5 minute mark regarding the starting strokes leading into the event.

Hey Ez, keep your head up, next season is when you'll put it all together. Feel like your game is pretty complete, it looked like the only thing holding you back sometimes was not having someone on the bag to lighten the mood or bounce ideas off of - see forehand cutroller at USDGC. I was/ am the same way with self-deprecating humour and honestly its fine to do that but on the other hand its super important to also recognise good shots and give yourself credit for when you executed something well. My two cents, love you man!

Having watched you at MCO this year where you were in it for a while and watching alot of your practice rounds... there's playing very focused and then there's playing tense or too tight...I don't know what's going through you in the moment and who am I to tell a pro how to get better... but practice rounds are obviously goofy and loose... I'd bet you'd play a few strokes cleaner if there was something between peak tournament tense Ezra and smiley goofy practice round Ezra. Somewhere in the middle is that flow state where everything is coming out clean and you're hitting your lines and all your putts, and it's almost like you're not even trying, focused but relaxed. Take a break, reflect and come back fresh and knock one down and get that win next year dude. We're all rooting for ya!

@@p3tj4 Well it's more complex than that, like they said in this vid. You wan't to reward the best players so the head start makes sense BUT only if there is a reset after 1st or 2nd round. Otherwise it's like you said, just stupid.

Yeah I don’t really get it. Like Goose said, they want eyes on the tournament, and I don’t know if I’m gonna bother watching after round one if Gannon just adds to his lead. It’s a little boring when you can see the outcome from a mile away.
@@p3tj4 It's a tournament that's supposed to give meaning to tour point, so you have to give top players something else than a cut off, because that's already in other tournaments. Also you can't give them a hand job, so I'm fine with giving them advantage. The problem is in another cut off, it was just fine the way it was and they just messed it up by removing that 2nd round reset while trying to reinvent the wheel. Yes that first round was a bit boring so there was a reason to look for a change but they just made entire event possibly boring. Lets just hope people catch up and there will be some mix at the very top.
So when they changed this for the PGA Tour, it cleared up confusion as to who actually won the FedEx Cup, but it made for much less interesting competition. Gannon and Scheffler are basically doing the same thing this year. It’s a tricky predicament. There needs to be a way to reward the player for good play, but not make the event boring. Gannon with stroke advantages might as well be a W. I’d say a cash incentive right before the finals might work. You’re playing to win a pool for the season, then make the pro tour finals be the best of the best dueling from even playing field.

I think the reset was a good thing. The strokes basically guarantees the best player of the year to be in the fight the last couple rounds. Then after the reset, they have to earn the win

Finals should be seeded based off season with a play in possible. Then match play like in golf for the US am. That’d be sick.

Goose is right about the strokes. If they want to reward Buhr and Tattar for being the best (and least interesting), just give them the crown and have them sit out. Maybe even Top 3 sit out. Then we would have something fun to watch!
As a viewer thinking about goose’s wind reader take… to me I feel like that detracts from the art of reading it dont you think? Having a flag or two down the fairway I can get behind but there’s something so cool about seeing the first person step up to the tee and throw grass in confusion, then watch people make the same mistake until the last person on the card adjusts for it
Man i would love to see if gannon starts 6 strokes back if he can chase everyone down. Everyone he catches he gets a certain amount for and if he wins he gets even more

So just curious: is the talk about banning step/jump putting from C2 just for the pro tour or all PDGA events? Because I know that there’s no chance I’m making any C2 putts if I can’t do that

Agree on the tournament! Should be exactly opposite to make it more interesting. Although seeing Gannon choke away his 10 stroke lead could be entertaining. 🤔😆
They should be adding money bonuses to the tour points, not strokes.
Or the added strokes should decrease each round. Gannon gets 10 strokes first round, 6 strokes second, 2 strokes third, then everyone is straight up for the final. That would help reward the top players to get into later rounds (so, more money) but by the end, it's the one who plays the best that earns the top prize.
I've been saying for months whoever has the most points should have the biggest handicap to make it interesting. See if Gannon can come back from a 10-stroke deficit. He's already won all the other tournaments. This isn't supposed to be about just money. It's supposed to be about excitement for the year

I think the tour championship should be a by round system. Top 10 only have to play last 2 rounds, top 11-20 last 3 rounds, 21-? All four rounds. All scores reset to 0 each round. Top 15 from each round advance to the next round.

Goose is 100 percent right about the Tour Championship. If Gannon goes out and plays even decent by his standards, its gonna be a snoozefest. They need to start throwing in crazy formats for some tournaments to make them more interesting. Have one elite tournament be a doubles, or matchplay. Just get crazy fun stuff with elite event money and i would watch. Whereas this tournament has a strong possbility of me not tuning in Sunday.

It's what the PGA does. Not they're perfect but they probably have a good model we should follow
