  • How big should a paddock be? How many square feet of pasture does a cow need per day?
Welcome to our channel and in this video we talk about Rotational Grazing Paddock Design and Water Systems For Cattle.
In this video I explain about my farms number of padlocks, their size and how I planned to manage my paddock. I’ll also explain about my farm water problem and how I solved it in easy way.
The number of paddocks in a grazing system determines the flexibility the manager has in controlling the timing and intensity of livestock grazing. When grazing is managed carefully, increasing the number of paddocks can increase the available forage yield per acre and animal production per acre.
The optimum number of paddocks depends on the producer's goals, the class of livestock being grazed, and the local market and production economics. A greater number of paddocks are justified for lactating dairy cattle than beef cattle. Usually you can justify more subdivisions for stocker cattle than for a cow-calf herd.
Having a good paddock design and layout will help you get the most from your grass by allowing you to manage it efficiently. Decide how many grazing you will get per paddock mid season. This allows for good grass utilization and helps reduce damage to paddocks when weather and ground conditions are most challenging.
If the correct amount of grass is not allocated cows may be underfed. This especially impacts on heifers as the cows will generally pick the best of the grass at every grazing. Allocating grass for more than 48 hours allows cows back over grazed grass and you will end up hitting re-growths.

I like your stock tank skid. And second, the use of a float valve in a previous comment.

Install a float in the tank and hook the hose directly to the valve on the ibc. The head pressure in the tank will push the water to the water trough. Then you will only need to use the gas powered pump to fill up the ibc, and your thought will never go empty. Have a great day

Thats a good question! I am building a mineral station right now, an then probably will start with some "tractor supply" stuff and graduate to the more advance minerals by a month or 2
