    This is super informative for the next batch of prospective students coming into NUS or thinking about doing CS as a major. I'm wondering what about the newer course, Business Analytics, offered at NUS? Would you be able to shed some light on that?

    Any tips on where to further practice C++ language to prepare for NUS courses? Leetcode? Also, are you able to share the telegram link?

      I may not be the best personal to talk about scholarship for international students. However, there are other nus creators who have talk about international scholarships. Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/6Yn37_qbj-U/v-deo.html

    Hey guys! this video was super informative. right now I'm a sec 4 student taking o levels this year, and I'm wondering whether going to JC or Poly would be a better choice for me to pursue a degree and career in Computer Science. I've been interested in programming ever since I was in primary school and would most likely want to pursue it as a career.

      in my opinion, if you are certain u want to pursue CS in local uni (NUT/NTU/SMU), i would say go poly route, more specifically the IT-related courses. it exposes you to coding, tech, work experience (internship), you can sign up for competitions, hackathons, etc in poly to build up your portfolio. it also gives u a lot of exposure. school life is also much more laxed in poly and not as rushed as jc. after every semester, you get around 1.5 months of holiday which u can use to work part time, partake in competitions, create your projects, side hustle, etc. you do not get this luxury of time in jc.
      currently, as of 2023, to enter NUS CS, with A level, you need AAA/A (85RP++) whereas with poly GPA, 3.84. from my experience and observation of my friends in JC & poly, it is much more manageable to attain a GPA of 3.8++ than attaining RP of 85++.
      of course, JC not a bad path to pursue, in fact, its an excellent and speedy path. it builds up on ur logic, math, sciences, problem solving skills which are extremely important foundations for CS. i would even argue that these skills is much more value-able to have than coding knowledge. why? because coding is relatively easy to learn and pick up whereas these other skills have to be honed over time (or u just zaikia and born with it lol). if you are not logically or STEM inclined, i suggest to choose a different career. furthermore, the jc route is faster at 2 years to complete whereas poly at 3 years. you save an additional year :) but in my opinion, unless you are confident you are able to ace your a levels and compete with other elite JC students, i suggest to go the poly route.

    • @hanbinlx
      @hanbinlx  2 роки тому +1

      No worries, in Singapore, we follow the British education system quite closely, so the GCE A level (advanced level) is an examination that we take as a school leaving exam, and it is also generally required across the board for university entrance.

      Thank you for your detailed answer. I have another question for you, can achievements of sport (which one is not from national, just from city based tournament) or make an application to play store be helpful for applying to NUS? Do you have any idea?

    Hi Han Bin, how can one prepare for CS2030S and CS2040S during the holidays?

    • @hanbinlx
      @hanbinlx  2 роки тому

      Hi there, for CS2030S, I would encourage you to start learning to code in java and focus on problem solving using object oriented programming. For CS2040S its main focus is data structures and algorithms so you can look further into that too.

    could you explain the answer for the logic question at 3:48?

    • @Chetangent
      @Chetangent 2 роки тому

      It's actually pretty easy. A knight always tells the truth so he would say that he's a knight while a knave always lies so he would also say that he's a knight. Since A said that he was a knave that means he was a knave as a knight would say that he was a knight. Since A is a knave and he always lies and he said that he's a knave in the first part of his statement which is correct, that means the second part of his statement is false. So B is not a knight and is a knave as well. Hope you understood the explanation.
