  • This video tells you about the Anthropocene as a concept and idea. While in March 2024 the International Commission on Stratigraphy rejected the Anthropocene as a replacement for the Holocene, they also stated that it was an important idea outside of Geology. The video ends with a teaser toward the next video, about Gaia.
(June 6th 2024: I noticed today that at 8 to 13 seconds I spelled Boundaries as boudaries
and I failed to see this until long after the upload. It is next to impossible to fix this now and if this bothers you... I am sorry!)
Recorded during March, April and May 2024 with Lumix G80 and Lumix G9 with Sennheier MKE 400 microphones or the Hollyland Lark 150 Wireless microphone kit. Edited using VideoPad v 16.09. Music can be found on Uppbeat.

    Pictures, diagrams etc.
All pictures, video sequences, diagrams made by the Joseph Strahl unless overwise referenced in the video lectures OR the pictures are in the public domain OR it was not possible to find a picture credit.
Joseph Strahl also wrote a number of original scripts from which much of the video lectures were based on. These scripts were based on his prior knowledge or (re-)reading of some parts of articles or books. The picture in the thumbnail of "Earth" with garbage underneath was created by Craiyon based on one of my prompts.
    Employer affiliation declaration:
Joseph "Joe" Strahl is an employee (2024) at Malmö University (MAU) but these lectures were not made for the university per se. The content was not made or produced as an employee for MAU but with an understanding that the content could be useful in specific courses at MAU. Opinions expressed are not necessarily the same as Strahl's employer. However, these video lectures in their unedited entirety can be freely used in courses at Malmö University or any other university provided credit is given for the contents and delivery.
    Gear affiliation declaration:
Strahl has not been given cameras, microphones, tripods, drones or other photographic, audio or videographic gear for review and much of the gear used for the production of the video lectures he has purchased with his own earnings. Photographic/videography gear with brand name may unintentionally appear in the background of a video lecture. I do, however, in the final credits of the last of the three videos mention which system camera system that I use which in part is out of an interest in having the lowest possible environmental footprint when selecting among systems and system cameras. This is also included to answer potential questions "which gear did you use to make the videos?"
Fair use declaration and use of copyrighted material.
The settings in UA-cam are supposed to limit or prohibit sampling or similar for incorporation into a video production of your own. If you wish to incorporate SHORT parts of one of the three video-lectures for non-profit and educational purposes this falls under "fair use" category. However, it would be respectful and friendly to contact me prior to this. Consider that the music used in parts of the three video lectures is licensed to me and your re-use and posting this to another UA-cam channel or other social media or other form of production is a violation of copyright and, for UA-cam, could give you a strike on your channel. I am in no way responsible for your potential misuse of the music selections that I have included in my UA-cam channel.
