I can't believe Dana would let that go.
Im sure he had money on that fight.
Dude. Tim illegally hooked Yoel's glove with his other hand. That's why he was able to land the shot and Yoel not be able to defend himself. Tim Kennedy is not an honest guy. Dont trust a word he says.

I remember watching that fight. I was confused on why the referee isn’t calling a dq. That 40 seconds felt like forever watching Romero get recovered
Yes but he was holding the gloves which is illegal so…
@mebulla1228 Apples & oranges. It isn't worthy of a DQ. It also wasn't 40 straight seconds of him holding the glove while McCarthy warned him to stop & he pretended he couldn't understand. 🤦♂️

Not to mention him taking Big Johns attention off Romero by storming across the cage towards Romero.
@@stufly20It is. He get to throw a lot of punch because of it isn't he?
The way he described it make’s perfect sense, since he knew by the rules he won, he was filled with relief and was no longer mentally prepped to fight
Of course. It's like being at work and hearing rumours we might all get sent home. Then nothing happens...but you already mentally clocked out of the shift lol

Except he cheated and hooked Yoel's gloves to land significant strikes and wobble Romero 😂
@@RIZ2NE1 Yeah I get that, it does look pretty bad when you watch it back, but there is a lot of stuff like that which goes on. Like eye pokes, that does not get called all that much.
But there a difference between landing some illegal blows and not being called on it, and the ref blatantly giving someone an extension in rest time.
@henryc7548 Yeah now you've made the argument about how bad the ref was, not who deserved the win, sitting on a stool too long is much more passive than almost knocking someone out purely because you cheated .

That bothered the hell out of me and I'm not the one who was in there, I can only imagine how much it bothers him.
Tim purposedly grabbing yoel gloves is reason he almost kod him, Tim is a sneaky bastard and pretty nuts
I hate excuses but this one is totally legit. I watched it live and he wouldn’t get off the stool. If I was him I would have jumped over the fence and went to the crowd like I won!

Man anyone that has played any sport knows that MOMENTUM is a real thing!! Once you or your team has built momentum in a match its hard for others to get back in.
Not even just in sports
Also morale and purpose. Somebody fighting for their life has purpose, be it a person or group of people, and that increases clarity and focus. Then they start winning, winning feels good so it boosts their morale and that strengthens the resolve and cohesiveness of their group, and just like a 5 watt lightbulb is dim, 5 watts of cohesive light will burn.
Now they’ve got momentum, or they’re in the zone, like a runners high. The momentum is like anything that moves, it will want to keep moving and the effort or energy needed to stop it increases. The losses incurred by the enemy lowers their morale, they lose confidence, they lose their focus, then they lose momentum and the energy needed to stop their attackers, and they get mowed over.
100, its in every real sport
Facts, so many people just ignore momentum as if it doesn't exist
Dopamine.
Same thing kind of happened to me. I chocked out my opponent at the end of the first round, let go at the bell, he was out. They gave him a minute thirty to come back, I thought the fight was over, first fight, adrenaline dump. He wins by tko. I was celebrating, they even took my picture as the winner. What actually happened was, in the last 10 seconds of the round Tim got his fingers inside Yoels glove (which is illegal under UFC rules). while Tim had his fingers illegally inside Yoels glove, he landed big shots that Yoel couldn't back up from or block due to Tim's illegal gloves hold. Yoel makes it to the end of the round and both go back to their corners. Yoel refuses to get off the stool for about 10 seconds and the big John pulls him up, another 5 seconds pass and the fight starts again. Tim takes a pounding and loses the fight.
Tim cheated and landed illegal fight ending strikes on Yoel.
Yoel cheated and took an extra 15 seconds rest.
Out of the 2 methods of cheating, Tim's is way worse because Tims cheating almost ended the fight illegally and Yoel received no benefit.
Yoels cheating gave both of them extra time to rest.
Tim also didn't retire after that fight, he retired 2 years later after another loss.
Tim is butt hurt because Yoel cheated but ignores that he cheated seconds before that. He also is basically saying he couldn't keep his mind together in that 15 seconds and zoned out of the fight, while Yoel almost got KO'd illegally and got his mind back in the fight in those 15 seconds.
he knocked Romero down by holding his gloves. Tim didn't mention it ofc
I just watched a right hand knock him down.
@@jeremytaft8247at the beginning of his flurry he lands two big uppercuts with his right hand while his left is inside yoel's glove. This clip conveniently cuts that part out lol

@@juicepouch1 Blocking a block is actually kinda genius unless your the other guy or a fan Yoel. What Yoel can’t counter Tims hands himself? But I also don’t know a lot of MMA rules and I also don’t think I watched this fight. Was it worse than what I’m picturing?

There was no robbery, Tim was outsmarted and is making excuses. Yoel Romero has a reputation for making late comebacks. Tim was also brutally finished in his last fight against another fighter.
For those wondering, at this level, the 40s would impact him like it would be an 8 hour of sleep time recovery.
Like you know personally
Bro, why are you lying?
You're talking out your ass. Kennedy pretty much spelled it out in plain english, he thought the fight was done and over and he was no longer in fight mode. Romero on the other hand was very much still in fight mode and had way more time to recover than he should have.
idk why people are hating on this comment but 40s extra is huge op is right though hyperbolic
@@bevans4712 Nobody said it wasn't huge, it definitely is. OP said it was equivalent to 8 hrs of sleep and that's just BS.
He neglects to mention he cheated by gripping the inside of Yoel's glove when he was blasting him and nearly knocking him out.
What do you expect from this trash
but we’re not gonna talk about how he held his gloves to land those shots on romero
fr i dunno why nobody talks about it
actual mma fans do, this comment section is full of tim's little sycophants
Big lying tim
Because it's common that things like cage grabs, glove grabs, and back of the head shots are allowed in UFC min small doses.. In fact, it happens every fucking event. As long as they are not super egregious they are allowed. What happened here is a completely different beast.
What's wrong with holding gloves tho? Isn't that just like having wrist control of somebody? With the way the gloves go 3 or 4 inches up your arm its kinda hard not to grab the glove when trying to grab someone's wrist.
It amazes me how many people say he got robbed when he grabbed Yoels glove before landing the punches that were hurting him to begin with, which is illegal. So it is just fair that Yoel got that extra time.
John took responsibility and said “ I did tell Romero to sit back down.
But he already fkck up
Did that change the outcome?
Good, if it was an honest mistake. Just seemed like utter incompetence
@@toosweet6046i'd say it did, but we'll never know.
This guy was grabbing yoels gloves 😂

Tim grabbed Yoel’s hand and pulled it down which is pretty common in boxing and ufc. That’s how Usman knocked out Masvidal. The rule is no fingers in the glove, which would be pretty hard to do facing someone on their feet.
@@Malepresentingtimelordno the instant replay showed Tim's fingers curled into the underside of Yoel's gloves. You can look up the clips on youtube

He was a good fighter but Tim was being dishonest here. Yoel went on to fight 3 more times before he got a title shot and taht was 3 years later after this fight. Yoel won all 3 and fought for the vacant belt, time took a 2 year layoff and came back to fight Kelvin, who knocked him out and retired him.
I thought it was because Kelvin beat him like he owed him money
No man you're mistaken it never happened
Just like the glove grab it's also just in your head
This Tim is a liar just like the country he worked for
That's a Dana White move
That's not how it works. The fights are regulated by the government via the athletic commission. Everyone on the athletic commission works for the state not the ufc. Every referee, judge, timekeeper, doctor, etc works for the commission.
Thanx for the info.
In your opinion what shoulda happened??
Kennedy straight up won & that shoulda been that imo.@@tadgodsey
@@garymccallum667 Certainly controversial, but we have to acknowledge the fact about Tim's cheating. This is not disputable. The glove holding violation is what gave Tim the advantage of catching Yoel in trouble during the fight. The stool thing was not Rimeros fault. Cut man put too much vasiline on him so he was instructed to stay on the stool in order to clean it up. Although, this was controversial, Tim is being whiny about it. Maybe he has some legit circumstance to complain, but he was not robbed. Its just the fact of what hapoened. This more an argument with the commission than against Romero. And bringing Dana White in just has no relevance or make much sense. That just not thing that could happen per design.

Tim has selective memory. It was a pretty outrageous glove grab by him that lead to the exchange at the end of the round

The winner did not go onto to fight for the title after this fight like Kennedy claimed in the beginning of the video and it was never marketed or hyped up as a title eliminator match in the buildup (which is basically the UFC's version of a number 1 contenders match.) In fact Yoel had to fight two more top 5 guys in the division in Machida and Jacare before he became the number 1 contender. That title shit was further delayed after Bisping won the title from Rockhold and refused to fight Yoel, instead opting for matches against Henderson and eventually GSP. Even if Tim had won this fight he would not have gotten an immediate title shot by any stretch of the imagination like hes implying at the beginning of the video by stating that whoever won here would go on to fight for the title.
Ok, so what? Bro took out the least important part of the video and wrote a paragraph on it.

@@AmericanMensClub He just wanted a way out because he knew he was gassed and wasn't gonna be able to grab yoel's glove again which is the only time he landed anything in that fight.
Difference is that he wasnt the one on the verge of unconsciousness. While he was convinced it was over, Romero was moving further & further away from the trouble he was in as he recovers. Practically speaking, he then has to start all over, nullifying all the work he had done.
If Romero wasn't ready 10 seconds after the regular break, that's IT. Well, supposedly. So yes, all that work he did amounted to nothing, because of bullshit by Romero's corner just to buy extra time he wasnt entitled to.

Tim absolutely grabbed the glove, not the wrist. Yoel's corner shenanigans were terrible, but Tim only was able to damage Yoel through glove hooking.

Your point aw dirty fighting goes that's not so bad as others like Jon Jones and yet still a point deduction at best as it happened while both are fighting very different then what both Romero did and the UFC was doing for Romero.
It’s a technicality. He would have lost a point. But realistically if Yoel had gotten off the stool within the ten seconds like he was supposed to Tim would have knocked him out. Yoel wasn’t gassing. It wasn’t a question of stamina. He was out on his feet and saved by the bell. It doesn’t really matter that Tim was holding his glove, because Yoel wasn’t able to defend himself anyway. I don’t know why he was holding the glove. But I don’t see what kind of unfair advantage it gave him. Yoel was swinging wild because he knew he was going down - he probably didn’t even know where he was at that point. And let’s not pretend that Yoel is a clean fighter.
