For fun, I'd like to see you power rank the manufacturers (TM, Callaway, Ping, etc) last 5 drivers against each other. It would be really cool to see if new always beats old. I suggest Taylormade first, mostly because I have the M6 currently and would like to see how it stacks up against the SIMs.
EVERYONE PLEASE STOP ASKING ➡️ “Why not this driver or that driver”, I couldn’t hit them all on the same day and I will be populating the Power Ranking THROUGHOUT the year. Be patient 🙏
I would like to see the RAD speed and I think it would be a closer test if the same or similar shaft was used in all tests and same loft. Looking forward to it Pete.
Love the power rankings concept! Rad speed and srixon zx7 have got to be tested! would love to see last years sim and a setup with an autoflex shaft also put in the powerleague mix
I just purchased a Cleveland Launcher Turbo driver yesterday at a fitting for wedges. I have an aversion to spending more than $400 on a driver and I was able to get last years model for $265. I love it. I can’t wait until mine arrives. It reminds me a ton of the Ping 425 but costs $200 less. I feel like I hit the lottery.
This is great Pete! But us mere mortals swinging our drivers 90-100mph wanna see one of us hitting those clubs in a more average setting and with standard shafts. You should get a mid-handicapper in to do some testing with you to see what drivers can do for the majority of golfers ✌️ p.s more than happy to volunteer 😂
Yesssss, just like old power lap times on Top Gear! Love it!!! Tonight on Peter Finch Golf, Peter sings a song, Peter smashes a running bird, and Peter gets tired.
Love the videos Pete, one of my favourite UA-cam channels. Using two of the same model cameras for multiple angles or colour matching the two you're using currently would improve the content even more. Keep up the great work.
I’d love to see you get set up with a Krank driver. I’ve seen those things cranked down to 4° of loft with XX shafts and still legal length for competition.
Pete, I'd love to see a TSi3 up there. Also, do you think Sim2 went further because it was right after your Honma warmup and you were not tired out yet with all those massive swings back to back to back?
Pete, I think more than the drivers, the shafts are particularly interesting! I would be really interested in seeing different shaft combos in the same head. Particularly for shafts that FIT YOUR SWING SPEED!
Pete, have you ever seen the Birtee's? TXG boys started using them a bit ago. You're likely to lose an eyeball if you keep swinging out of your shoes!! Keep up the content. Like the comedic commentary. Cheers
Hey Pete, great vid! You should try printing out larger font cards, laminate & stick Velcro on the back. Easy to move on the board, easy to see on screen. 💪🏼 Would love to see the new Titleist. Would also love to see the Sim 1 go head-to-head w/these newer clubs. Thanks!
I think it would be interesting to hit some 3 year old drivers and then some 5 year old drivers, all with the same type of set ups. Just to show the differences over the years. My guess is very little. I’ll bet the Taylor made M5 is similar specs to the Sim2 is no more than 5 yards shorter. Keep up the excellent content Pete. Top work 👍🏻
For some unknown reason the music video from Fried Eggs Golf about a certain type of golfer popped into my head when Pete started describing the specs he'd use on the SIM 2. Something about the loft, maybe? Who knows...
You seemed to be getting after it a bit harder with the SIM. Not sure if that's confidence in the club or personal bias, but you were almost in balance with the other clubs & falling over with the SIM.
Shouldn’t you be using the same shaft and degree for each driver? Then the differences in club head speed, ball speed, and distance are all down to the clubhead
While that would be nice it’s very difficult to do. Firstly the different manufacturers offer different amounts of adjustability in the hosel for changing loft. They also offer different head loft starting points, the Sim2 has an 8 degree head with a 2 degree range of loft adjustability, the Ping and Calloway for instance only start at 9 degrees and have a smaller amount of adjustability. As for the shaft choice, it is doable, but Pete would need a separate shaft for every manufacturer because they all have different fitting tips. Doable, but tedious and expensive as not all manufacturers offer the same shafts. I think this is a good test because all the shafts are stock options the manufacturers offer, so these are driver builds that anyone could buy at base retail price. So his comments about some of the drivers not being truly designed to just maximize distance are quite accurate to the intent of the design.
@@jeffarterburn4977 nah Caleb is right and any tedium or expense is irrelevant. You cant do a true comparison test when the conditions arent the same for each driver tested.
There is something primevally exciting about seeing a golf ball smashed without mercy by a driver. Gets one right in the feels. Cant wait to see when you next take a driver to the max. Cheers
Get in touch with Conservatory Blinds Ltd, I’ll sort you out some blinds for that window pal! Love the videos Peter, roll on the end of March so we can all get out on that course!! 🤞
I'd like to see you try a longer 48" shaft one day might not be for you normally but something like that for this long drive power ranking could be fun to see if that can make a difference with some of these drivers.
Hi Peter, live this video idea. I'd love to know something. Similar to your vid where you compared older and newer models of driver to see the improvement. In 2014 Adams brought out their last driver, the XTD. They were forced to slow the face down because it was too hot for the USGA. I'd love to see you hit a good condition one in the Matrix Black Tie shaft it was available in to see how it stacks up.
Not really, every head will weigh something different so the shaft will perform slightly differently. Being fit for each one to the best combo would be fairest
One of these youtubers human tested the big 5 driver manufacturers last 5 generations with the same shaft in each gen's driver. The distance differences were minimal showing we should pay more attention to the driver shaft than the head. M1 was the best for distance in those tests btw even over the new TM, it was only a couple yds but still was longer.
Well we need Cobra, Titleist, PXG and probably a couple more in there. Might be cool to do some throwback drivers too like the TM M1 and see how bad they still beat some current drivers :-)
I think that’s because he’s so familiar with it and knows what he can get away with swining it. It is a big advantage for the Sim in the test for sure.
Just not an accurate test, he was swinging controlled and smooth with every driver but the Sim, he was actually losing his balance with the swing he was putting on it.
Hey Pete FYI you can get a callaway adapter that goes down 2 degrees instead of the standard adapter that only goes down 1 degree I have one in my epic speed makes a big difference
I loooove this. Even though I won’t be spending the cash that is needed to buy one of these drivers, I really want to know who stays at the top of the board. Maybe an accuracy board too!
Hello Peter, congrats on the video! I like your swing and I was wondering why you lift a little bit up your club head at the very beginning of your back swing. Thanks !!
After watching this twice it kinda looks like by the body language that u were putting a little more umpf into the sim 2, could be that u liked it most befor even hitting but after watching u swing the first club there's no comparison. Could be just me but ether way great video. Keep up the great work. 🤭
Just got fitted for the first time in my life. Probably a 10 handicap currently, was 5ish before I quit 7 years ago). The Sim2 looked great and I had some smashed drives but the Epic had a much better dispersion. Which shocked me but the data is there and hard to ignore. Looking to getting it in a couple weeks.
Love the video and power ranking chart. But for the love of all that’s holy, when are you going to hit the new Srixon? UA-cam is full of reviews of SIM, TSi, Callaway etc. Would love to see you do something different and separate yourself from the crowd.
I don't really feel it counts if like you say the driver's aren't set up the same and on top of that your swing speed is deteriorating as you go through the test. You just aren't comparing apples with apples. Maybe re-think your strategy and do a test of the same five clubs five days running rotating the hitting order to see how they come out.
Hey Peter, not sure if you will ever see this but worth a shot. I am a member at OCC and I would love to have you out to play at Oakmont if you are ever in the US and are able to make it to Pittsburgh. Thanks for all the great videos.
Tour Edge Exotics EXS... had a hit with this driver early this week. Was impressed, consistently over 320yards... in comparison I was hitting my callaway rogue with identical setup 308yrds...
Great video, think you should have a guest power ranking too. Whatever driver is top of the power ranking should be placed in the hands of any guests you have in the studio and they should have 10 shots at getting there longest drive. Kind of like the top gear celebrity fastest lap ranking board but the golf version
Following the success of Bryson at the Arnold Palmer Invitation you should try and get your hands on a Cobra Limited driver 7.5 deg of loft and see where it ranks on your board. Be interesting to see a 4 year old driver against all your new ones.
I really want to see TSi4 / TSi3 (really want to see them both up there), Srixon, XXIO, Cobra (in a DeChambeau setup with a jumbomax grip!!!), Wilson Staff, Cleveland.
Pete, I still feel the previous Taylormade Sim was by far the best driver you hit in the past few years. Distance, consistency, forgiveness - the whole package. I wouldn't think twice about going back to it, if I were you. You can throw that in this test for a comparison as well
While its probably not wrong, the issue I see is that the SIM2 probably had the stiffest shaft in there. HZRDUS is a pretty stiff shaft to begin with, but having 5-10g over the others is a huge deal in this as Pete will feel like he can go at it a little more and not loose the club head.
I'm hoping you are able to crank that Callaway Epic Speed down to 6 degrees in a future video, would be interesting to see if if can match that SIM2 beast at the same loft, wasn't far behind at 8 degrees
Pete, would you consider buying a large chalk board and make a table where you could more easily write the specs and results of all the drivers? Easy to run off as well...
Given Bryson played this week with a driver from 2017, I think you should open this up to some other drivers from past years as well. Let's see TaylorMade's M series, Callaway Epic Flash, Cobra F9, etc...
Did my own home test. I have the TSI3 10 degree (ventus blue velocore 6x), Ping G425 LST 10.5 (ventus blue velo 6x) and the SIM2 10.5 (ventus black velo 6x) and from a pure carry perspective SIM2 takes it for me by 10-15 yards over TSI3 with the lowest spin. Best distance plus dispersion was TSI3 but not too far different than SIM2 and the straightest but WAY shortest (still very low spin) is the Ping. Still going back and forth between SIM2 and TSI3 but I think SIM2 is going to find the bag. Played SIM last year and they both just feel more solid off the face and I prefer the sound of Taylormade
Awesome board, love it. May i suggest the titleist Tsi4 as one of the next ones. Though i think the SIM2 is propably going to be top 3 at the end of the year if not number 1

“Naa na na na na na naaah”😂 you should test the cobra rad speed, I think that will compete with the sim🤔
Everyone is gonna say DeChamBRO’s Cobra LTD on here.
I’ll say “why not the TSi4?”
Why not the TSi3, which we saw when Pete first tested it went 355 yards and with him swinging a little faster now...
Apparently dechamBRO doesn't even use it.he uses a four year old driver.
@@harriha2898 yea the cobra ltd black as Tim said above🙈
This has a Top Gear Vibe, and it's absolutely fantastic!!!!! Revolutionary, and I absolutely expect other UA-camrs to follow suit really soon.

lol, spins up like a centerfuge
Bryson can smash any driver in the world almost 400 yds. A few can escape without breaking tho haha
@@maxphilpott9677 ? The Cobra LTD is a super low spinning head, always has been. Extremely low CG.
He needs a jumpomax grip to go with it...
@@morgancross5481 The whole reason he picked it was because it spun up when hit off the bottom
