    Just watched this video while doing the same job super helpful bro! I appreciate you posting this really made it easy to get this done. I don’t have a measuring thing for the atf was wondering if you knew any ghetto ways to measure it. Scared to run it not knowing how much is in there

    • @HeyboysGarage
      @HeyboysGarage  3 роки тому +1

      If you have done the job yet I would buy the stick online before. If you have already started You will need to add 10 quarts of the atf into the car. But I will start with 6.5 quarts to see if everything is working and running. There is no way to really measure it with out the dipstick. The only thing is the car won’t move if there is too little or too much transmission oil. But I would strongly recommend you getting the dip stick first

    I have a 2006 CLK500 Convertible. Where do I get the parts you showed, the pin connector, dipstick, etc...the local auto parts store or do I go to the Mercedes dealer? I can't seem to locate them at the "normal" auto parts places (they have filters and fluid) ...can I order them online?

    I'm liking your mechanical skills... Have a quick question I have a 02 Mercedes CLK 500 like yours I notice lately that some of the gears hold longer when I am on the gas and when I'm driving normal it changes the way it's supposed to other times it holds gears and I shift the knob to change the gears question is will dirty fluid create those problems and if I change my fluid etc without taking it to be serviced will that straighten out the problem?

    • @HeyboysGarage
      @HeyboysGarage  3 роки тому +1

      Well from what you have described, sounds like You get on her hard most times when you drive so it has learned you mostly drive that way so it wants to hold the gears longer because it think you are gonna step on it again mid pull. If you don’t like that, you can let the transmission re learn your driving. Or it will re learn after a week of you not driving like a boss. Make sense?

      @@HeyboysGarage thank you for your knowledge I've changed my driving habits thanks to you..😎.....also I'd like to know if you have knowledge about fuel problems on these particular models ? I just replaced my fuel pump behind the passenger seat and also the sending unit behind the driver's seat and I smell a little gas but don't see any... In the mornings I have to turn the key at least three times as I'm trying to start it and wait for a few minutes with the key switch on then I turn and it starts almost like it's not getting enough pressure ...or would that be a sign of dirty fuel injectors?..

    • @HeyboysGarage
      @HeyboysGarage  3 роки тому +1

      @@robertrichardson4399 You can still drive the way you do... it’s just that the transmission learns how you drive. Also did you change the fuel pump and sending unit because of this problem? Or it started after changing them?

      Could be a conductor plate issue, if you service your trans soon buy the extensive kit on FCPEURO. This might fix your issue or it might not atleast it wont make it worse at all.

    (722.6) How many litres total 7.5 or 8 ?
    Torque converter capacity ?
    Drain pan capacity ?
    Have shifting issues after fluid change ( low or overfilled)

    • @HeyboysGarage

      Usually there is no need to drain the torque converter. Just from the drain bolt. You could have low fluid from your shifting problems

    Had a question for ya.. Did my fluid change.. And now it shifts hard, did i put to much fluid? Or does it need to shift so many times to get fluid there??

    • @HeyboysGarage
      @HeyboysGarage  2 роки тому +1

      If you put too much fluid the car will not move. You probably don't have enough in there, cars transmission needs to have a specific amount of ATF in order to work properly. Be a bit carefully with the ATF quantity and make sure you get it right the first time. Get this right before driving again

    FYI the 5 speed is allot easier than the 7 speed . The 7 speed is better off being done by a pro which sucks / The reason is the tools to do it alone are 200 plus the ket 40.00 and the fluids 130-155...

    • @HeyboysGarage
      @HeyboysGarage  Рік тому

      7 speed is not bad, same as 5 speed. Only difference is reverse on how you fill up the transmission with the new fluid. I have a video on how to do it on the 7 speed. Same tools except one different tool to fill the transmission and no extra costs for fluids
