Hugo Calderano put up a great fight, but Fan Zhendong's consistency and powerful backhands were unbeatable today. Hats off to both for an entertaining semifinal!

This tournament was probably the best performance I've seen from Hugo Calderano in ages (maybe the best of all). Hugo played really, really well. But Fan Zhendong was simply incredible. What else could hugo do? Or any other player...
The manual was followed in every aspect of instructions... And further. But Fan was over his own current level this time. Nothing could be done against this version of him. 🤐
Fan Zhendong's skill, speed and precision in WTT have been taken to a new level. This match ended with the component being destroyed by a score of 4-0, which was truly tough to accept.
First match in a while where I see the old fan zhendong I remember, and even then he is very different now. Two big chopping rallys in one game is so unusual for Fan.
Fan truly looks different this time. I must admit. He will probably win WCQ this time. It's not easy to defeat the best non-China player in Hugo. Great match.
I think Liang Jingkun exhausted Hugo Calderano earlier in the day. Whereas Fan Zhendong had a walk in the park with Tomokazu Harimoto.

Adam Bobrow is a very informative announcer who understand a lot about the game. the quality of his narration is noticeable👍
He is not, he never talk about type of servers or return《 like is not important)...the tv ditectory never shows the fully serves of the playes. Somehow they try to hide the fully game, likecan taboo subiect!...but when they see an "chichita or banana they make so much big deal...
The public in Chine they are majority children....where in west you have fully grown people and young people....and many other subjects missing...don't

A goat hasn‘t to play activly. Even when Ma Long retires in a few years, he can still be the goat. But in my opinion is Wang Chuqin even better than FZD. I think in like minimum 3-4 years the people will say that Wan Chuqin is the goat. And I guess that you don‘t even now for what „goat“ stands. It is a short form from „Greatest of all time“

What's the name of this commentator i hear in most games. Was he a top player? How come he got this job?
His name is Adam Bobrow, lots of people know him from youtube since he makes videos and has a very fun and unique playstyle. He is a semi-pro player but nowhere near the level of top level athletes. He has been commentating for ITTF and WTT for a very long time, one of my favorite commentators for this sport since he has a very sharp eye tactics and subtle variation.

Праймовый Хюго проиграл, а Фан вроде не набрал свою праймовую форму
@@0_Madara_0 пиковая, праймовая, это здесь не при чём...он возможно и не будет играть как лет пять назад.... Просто смотришь и видишь , что форма лучше и её достаточно чтобы быть в финале.

Another match with a distracting/disorienting camera switch mid serve. Another umpire functioning only as a score keeper, refusing to call illegal serves. Hopefully when we get to the Olympics the rules will enforced.
Ok distracting is crazy being that all you have to focus on is this, also people like the focus on the player before the play they been doing it for years. Also what serve rules were broken by who?
@@reinaldopessoa2603 previously the camera angle was from behind the receiver. That enabled us to see the complete serve and learn from it. It also made it much easier to identify the ball being hidden behind the head. Fan Zendong does this part of the time, but Calderano is particularly flagrant, hiding the ball on almost every serve. I have lived and played through the no serve rules era. There is a good reason why the rules were changed.
@@AsherKaiser they didn't do as often as now but they definitely did the zoom in on the players before regular angle. Calling hidden serves behind the head is unnecessary by the chest or hands I understand.
