I don’t understand the check in complaint. The room had a promised check in time of 4:00pm. The room ended up being ready before 4:00pm. Who would want to leave the beautiful villa and check out early? For that price a family could rent a Disney area 3/4 bedroom house with a private pool for a couple weeks.
Yes but it rooms 12 adults, splitting that up between a group of adults that big vs a lone family makes it actually affordable and save money vs those 12 getting their own rooms.

You can do an entire week at a moderate resort for like $3000, meaning that it would be 2.7x more expensive for 12 people to stay in that suite for a week than to get 3 separate rooms at a moderate resort.
I agree with you on the complaint. I don't care if people spend money in any way they want to that is their prerogative. If check out time is one or two o'clock and it takes one to two hours to clean it makes sense that people will extend as much time as possible before leaving allowing the staff to use all possible time to make sure the place is immaculate BECAUSE of the "excessive" price. I don't understand how he does not understand that. Also why is it the hotel's responsibility to entertain them or get them something "special"? They made the decision to come in early. I am sure they were told about the check in time. Come to the hotel at four or 4:30 duh... Why did they come in that early in the day? There are parks, activities, golf, sports, shopping, whatever that they could have gone and done to fill in the time. It seems pretty entitled to me that he feels that just because the room costs that much that they deserve something additional to fill in time that they should have figure out for themselves how to fill in or just arrive at the time they were supposed to. Also he did not even pay it! It was gifted! LOL that makes his complaint even more ridiculous. 🤭

i don’t think it’s a service thing to get into your room early. they’re cleaning the room & they tell you it’ll be ready at 4 . just bc you get there earlier than check in doesn’t mean you would get free drinks or early check in. Price doesn’t make a difference for cleaning. it’s the room you’re paying for
True. If they were able to get it ready 10-15 minutes earlier than promised, I would have been amazed. But my problem is this: if Disney can make this room look so clean and immaculate, why aren't the parks held to this level of attention?
Your mom and dad were great at acting like they didn't know about the surprise! Accidents happen, but it is still going to be a great visit! That villa is amazing! You're allowing us to see something that most of us will never get to see.
As a DVC member I can tell you the Grand Villas are often not ready till after 4pm. They rooms are so big it takes mouse keeping a long time to clean it.
Love seeing Grand Villas! We are DVC but will probably never stay in one! The one draw back to the amazing rooms is that the 4pm check-in is DVC standard…infact - the language actually says that it can be even later!! We try to leave our place - especially the kitchen - as “turnover ready” as possible to help reduce the timeline!
I may not be staying in a $3500/night villa, but this makes me even more excited to check in at Polynesian on Tuesday! My treat to my parents. TFS, Kyle! I love seeing you and your family!
Techhhnicallyyyy Four Seasons is on Disney property and has suites 5x the price of this grand villa. And a guaranteed 3 pm check in time 😉 Also specialty suites do come with custom floral and lots of amenities and treats. Riviera is super cool too though!

Also, if I may recommend. With the amount of travel you do and the very lovely hotels you stay in - if you're wanting bonus perks, I would look into investing in a travel-themed credit card like the American Express Platinum or Chase Sapphire Reserve. A lot "hidden" perks come with using those cards to book hotels (and flights, and sometimes even cruises.)

I imagine that many people staying in a grand villa would really love to have late check-out. If granted, that would make early check-in for the next guests even tougher. I see the point that perhaps Disney should send housekeeping to the largest and most expensive rooms first, so they are ready the earliest, but I also see some value in being more egalitarian and also working to make more modest rooms available sooner to allow for more guests to get into a room sooner. No matter what, somebody loses out by having their room cleaned and made ready last.
I'd never leave that suite either. 😲 That was an incredibly generous DVC gift. Wow. The best part is that you included your parents, they deserve it. I love Taylor, she is hilarious. She needs to start her own channel.
Your service might have felt a bit lacking, but perhaps because you were staying in a DVC (timeshare) villa and not in an official Disney Club Level suite. To get perks like some free food and (non-alcoholic) drinks, and extra concierge service, you have to be in a club level room at a WDW resort with a club level lounge. Those resorts are, as best as I know Animal Kingdom Lodge (Jambo House only), Beach Club (not the Villas), Boardwalk Inn (not the Villas), Contemporary (not Bay Lake Tower), Coronado Springs, Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, and Yacht Club. Grant villas are super huge, but don't have the few extra perks associated with a club level suite.
As a hotel worker all I have to say is PLAN TO ARRIVE AT CHECK IN TIME! If your room isn’t ready before And you have to wait IT IS YOUR PROBLEM…. NOT the hotels. At any price!!!

That’s why they are starting to charge for daily make up service. I just thought she was a bit snippy, but so was I (I worked for Disney back in the 80’s when everyone seemed just happy to be there, but it’s a tough job, and house keeping and food services are real tough).

Any of the DVC Resorts at WDW are 1st class all the way. You mentioned a in room pool, you need to stay at the Polynesian Bungalows. Each bungalow has its own private splash pool. Grand Villa at the Grand Floridian Resort also has its own media room as well as tv´s built into the bathroom mirrors. Master bath shower can also be used as a sauna, and the balcony proveds a terrific view of Magic Kingdom and the fireworks. Next look into the Grand Villa at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. This unit includes a billiard room with a pool table. And the balcony overlooks the Savanna, with amazing views of zebras, giraffe, gazelle, and many other wild animals just below your room. Nothing else like it.
Wow! What a nice villa. You all will have the time of your life. This shows how talented you are at what you do and very lucky that someone would donate this room to you for one night. Enjoy your stay!
Hotel talk .... I love hotels! Get how you feel but the price you pay is for the room itself. You want additional perks, the price will either be increased or you may need to be a DVC member. As a Marriott member, when you hit certain levels you get additional perks. Member perks can affect guests. I get late check out as a perk. Checking out late would affect another guest trying to check in early. Frankly, my greatest concern with hotel stays at this time is cleanliness. The villa is amazing and it looks like the staff did a great job leaving it nice and clean. 👍 Enjoy your stay! Looking forward to all the Pallo family vlogs to come.

He has stayed over 900 nights with Marriott ( He had travel for business. we have been married for over 26 years) We also get to check in early (if a room is available and at no extra charge) or have an extended late check out 4 o’clock pm instead of 11 am. There a lot of additional benefits on top of this. It’s great to have the Pallo family here and Taylor ! I do have a question behind the tub in the master suite Alex was showing you. Looks amazing but you would think Disney would add more perks like food personal concierge or complimentary private shuttle and pick up to parks or something.
I have found that the bigger the villa, the longer the wait to check in. Even when we stayed at the Cascade Cabins at Wilderness Lodge our Cabin wasn't ready until a little after 4:00. Probably because there's more to clean but I thought like you that because I was spending so much that the room might be ready sooner and that it would be priority but no.

The sad filter shocked and scared me. And then I laughed really hard. 😂😂😂😂 And it's probably the best filter ever done. It took me 2 seconds to figure it out. They're actually improving the technology! That's cool, but also a little creepy. Not being able to identify a filter right away is a bit scary, who knows what might fools us for long enough in the future?

With $3500 you take your family on a cruise with Royal Caribbean or Norwegian, and will have unlimited food, drinks, visit different countries, the service is better and so on.
Looks great but if I want the top of the line at Disney, I’d go with the Grand or maybe Beach Club. I want to be closer to the parks in a place with more character/history. Riviera is fancy but it doesn’t feel like Disney to me.
We always plan on having a pool day on check in day when we know we're arriving before 4. You're allowed to be at the pool even if you're room isn't ready. Just ask for a key to access the pool and you can enjoy your time waiting instead of wandering around aimlessly.
Back in 2018, due to a long trip that had to be canceled, we had a bunch of DVC points about to expire and invited family for a few nights in a Saratoga Springs grand villa. It wasn’t as nice as yours at the Riviera, but was still awesome. I know you all had to have an awesome stay in yours.

Honestly helpful tip if you are staying at any DVC property (more so any Grand Villa) you should rent vacation club points, paying Disney for a cash stay is waaay more, renting points would be about $2k/night weekday stay all in no tax and you don’t have to pay for parking. Lately all DVC properties are so busy early check-in is rare.
Great Vlog! I was staying at The Grand Floridan a few years ago and they upgraded us to Concierge (I have no idea why) It was insane and we already had the dinning plan, I ate so much on that trip!!!
I will say the TEXT saying your room is ready comes a lot later than if you look in the APP.... I saw the room ready in the app ONE HOUR before it texted me saying ready... so .... yea... check there too. But your totes right, any one staying in concierge level and above should get "priority" check in and room availability
It’s Not worth it to do one night in one of these rooms. You check in at 4, probably go to bed at 10-11pm and leave the room at noon. I would either do 3 nights(if I could afford it and I can’t ) or stick with a cheaper room. Glad you got to experience it but for me one night would just be a tease lol

As a Marriott member, when you hit certain levels you get additional perks. Member perks can affect guests. I get late check out as a perk. Checking out late would affect another guest trying to check in early.
Frankly, my greatest concern with hotel stays at this time is cleanliness. The villa is amazing and it looks like the staff did a great job leaving it nice and clean. 👍

I know what you’re talking about Kyle. My husband has titanium status with Marriott for life. He has stayed over 900 nights with Marriott ( He had travel for business. we have been married for over 26 years) We also get to check in early (if a room is available and at no extra charge) or have an extended late check out 4 o’clock pm instead of 11 am. There a lot of additional benefits on top of this.

Looks amazing but you would think Disney would add more perks like food personal concierge or complimentary private shuttle and pick up to parks or something.
I have found that the bigger the villa, the longer the wait to check in. Even when we stayed at the Cascade Cabins at Wilderness Lodge our Cabin wasn't ready until a little after 4:00. Probably because there's more to clean but I thought like you that because I was spending so much that the room might be ready sooner and that it would be priority but no.
They are part of DVC and ALL DVC rooms are set for a 4 pm check-in time. Sometimes sooner but not guaranteed.

With $3500 you take your family on a cruise with Royal Caribbean or Norwegian, and will have unlimited food, drinks, visit different countries, the service is better and so on.

Looks great but if I want the top of the line at Disney, I’d go with the Grand or maybe Beach Club. I want to be closer to the parks in a place with more character/history. Riviera is fancy but it doesn’t feel like Disney to me.

We always plan on having a pool day on check in day when we know we're arriving before 4. You're allowed to be at the pool even if you're room isn't ready. Just ask for a key to access the pool and you can enjoy your time waiting instead of wandering around aimlessly.

Back in 2018, due to a long trip that had to be canceled, we had a bunch of DVC points about to expire and invited family for a few nights in a Saratoga Springs grand villa. It wasn’t as nice as yours at the Riviera, but was still awesome. I know you all had to have an awesome stay in yours.

This villa is amazing. We have stayed at a 3 bedroom suite at the Disneyland Hotel but nothing like this beautiful villa. Huge!
The room looks amazing as it should for $3500. You would think there would be something extra for the price like a fruit plate or cookies or something!

This reminds me of my Stay in the Grand Floridian Victorian Suite. When you stay in a room like that, it changes the experience.
We did this exact room 8690, in May of 2021 ! There were 10 of us so we filled out the villa, but it was amazing !!

Honestly helpful tip if you are staying at any DVC property (more so any Grand Villa) you should rent vacation club points, paying Disney for a cash stay is waaay more, renting points would be about $2k/night weekday stay all in no tax and you don’t have to pay for parking. Lately all DVC properties are so busy early check-in is rare.
Why would you expect to get in early and if you did, would you be willing to leave early so that the next occupants could enter early also?
Great Vlog! I was staying at The Grand Floridan a few years ago and they upgraded us to Concierge (I have no idea why) It was insane and we already had the dinning plan, I ate so much on that trip!!!

I saw the room ready in the app ONE HOUR before it texted me saying ready... so .... yea... check there too.
But your totes right, any one staying in concierge level and above should get "priority" check in and room availability
when I stayed at the grand villa in Disney California, they gave it to me until 5pm

It’s Not worth it to do one night in one of these rooms. You check in at 4, probably go to bed at 10-11pm and leave the room at noon. I would either do 3 nights(if I could afford it and I can’t ) or stick with a cheaper room. Glad you got to experience it but for me one night would just be a tease lol

My family is part of the DVC. We stay at Bay lake towers grand villa. So awesome. I think its over $3k a night as well. Great location too.
