Very impressive, you shouldn't be so hard on yourself you've done a brilliant job. The windows turned out brilliant, but windows are a pane (joke) It's very much like OPEN ALL HOURS with David Jason (Del Boy, Only Fools and Horses). I can fare hear the door bell, the good old typical British corner shop you've done it proud.👍😷👍
Thought the window treatment worked really well. The whole thing looked even better in the close-up right at the end. Possibly a little suggestion of brickwork would worked, but it's always so hard to know when to stop...
Just wanted to say I appreciate these videos. I recently became enamored with pen and wash and there are not very many who do it on YT. Pretty sure the "shield thing" is a flag holder. I've seen some lovely brickwork done with a small flat brush, pretty easy to pop them in, the only thing you have to be aware of is to make sure you start one row with a half brick and the next with a full so the spacing is right.
Often the problem is that I only see the details, so want to make much more of them than the painting allows for and don't see the big picture so easily.
I think the windows were very effective, it is a big piece of the character of the building. Where you ran into issues I think is you made the frames quite a bit darker compared the front of the building.. they were actually almost an off white.. then the items inside were basically the same tone and it all got muddled. Once you darkened around the frames enough they popped out again.. all fixed.
This is wonderful and I am going go try it. My mother is from Derbyshire. I would love to see more of these types of tutorials
Thank you, I hope you enjoy painting it. Derbyshire is really beautiful, my parents lived there for a few years and I always enjoyed visiting.
I love this, more please!

Thanks, yes, always hard to know how far to go. I think the bricks would work well if I did this at a slightly larger scale.
Your explanations are terrific!
Thank you ☺️
thank you for sharing your thought during the whole process it is very helpful!

I learn so much by doing these. I envy your eye for details, you are right if little things are over looked, the painting just seems off! 💖

This is spectacular! Really enjoyed the video. Thanks!
Thanks so much :)
I thank your painting is beautiful, thanks.

Love this. I would like to see a version with some brickwork, one day...
I love it. You did a beautiful job painting this.
Just went to Ashbourne yesterday and took a photo of the same place to do a sketch then found your video! Yours looks better!.
It's such a lovely place. The shop wasn't open when we were there, if it had been I might have come away with a lot of cheese!
Just discovered your channel. Love your style!

I like the windows. When someone looks at this their eyes will be drawn right to those windows.
Thanks!
