Empress Emerita Michiko of Japan's fall, geez I know exactly how she felt, you see I fell this past March and broke a bone on my left hip and needed surgery next day. I am fine now but I too am not a young chick. I do hope and pray for a speedy recovery. 💐 Lovely Princess Charlene always nice to see her smiling, loved that she was involved in the Rokethon Walk, that brings awareness of abandoned pets, I love dogs. My 7 yr old is a stray that was dumped at a park when he was two months old. It is a big worldwide problem. All news appreciated Alexandra have a good evening stay safe be happy. ❤🐕

I noticed that too! Wow, you would think that maybe they could make a nice announcement before his arrival, or something like that, so he could avoid appearing short and bothered by the whole thing! Or he could wear some gloves. That's what the late QEII always did.

In Morocco and in other cultures, kissing the hand of an elder or in this case is a sign of respect. Pulling the hand away is seen as a sign of humility.
I have also heard that The Crown Prince is not fond of people kissing his hand which could be the reason why he pulls his hand away.

Regarding your question, I have heard that there are a couple of reasons why The Crown Prince of Morocco pulls his hand away when it is kissed.
Firstly, in the Kingdom of Morocco, kissing the hand of the Sovereign, a member of the royal family, or an elder is a sign of respect. Pulling the hand away is seen as a display of humility. His Royal Highness Prince Moulay Rachid of Morocco, who is The Crown Prince's Uncle, also quickly pulls his hand away when someone kisses it.
Secondly, it is rumored that the Crown Prince is not keen on the tradition of hand-kissing, which could be the reason why he swiftly pulls his hand away.

Hope Empress Masako recovers well from her fall. How sad. Well, I am debating if Mette-Merit is the proper person to advocate for mental health. She clearly neglected her own son's mental health, which, in turn, has damaged at least three former girlfriends. Is it borderline hypocrisy?
It's interesting that the Crown Prince of Morocco whips his hand away before people paying respect to him, can kiss it. If that is a custom - to kiss the hand of a monarch - why take it away so quickly? Germs? Isn't that disrespectful from the Prince? Can anyone discuss this further? Regarding Empress Emerita Michiko, this morning the Imperial Household Agency confirmed that she had surgery and is recovering well. She will remain in the hospital until her doctors clear her to return to the Sento Imperial Palace.🙂💐
