Badlands Winch - How To Program the Remote
Вставка
- Опубліковано 27 жов 2020
- If you've replaced or swapped either your remote or your receiver, you will need to reprogram your remote. This procedure should work for other brands that use this type of remote. Champion is one example
1 - Connect the winch to the receiver and to power
2 - Press and Hold the ON/OFF button for 3 seconds until the LED lights solid
3 - Press and Hold the OUT and IN buttons simultaneously for 20 seconds
- The LED will flash 20 times and then light solid again
- Release the buttons
4 - Press and Hold the IN and Out buttons a second time, this time for 3 seconds
- The LED will turn off and then light sold again
5 - The remote is now programmed and will operate the winch
If you try this procedure and it doesn't work, try replacing the batteries
You can find my video about changing the batteries @ • Badlands Winch - How T...
If you want to replace the remote and Harbor Freight won't replace it under warranty (or you just want an extra) you can find the ordering instructions at www.harborfreight.com/parts
part number is 16311 REMOTE TRASMITTER Assembly and the number to call to order is 1-800-444-3353 - Навчання та стиль
You provided everything I needed including finding the new remote! Thank you sir!
You're welcome, glad it helped you
Thanks, great demonstration. Answered all my questions for sure.
Thank you for this video. Dealership rigged me up a thumper fab headache rack with a rear wench and we couldn’t get remote to work. Changed out batteries, contacted thumperfab & they told me to get with dealership to see if they connected it properly & I came across this video & followed your instructions & my remote is now working! Thank You for help
Awesome! Glad it helped!
Thanks for the video, I followed your instructions to the t and the new remote. I had responded just as you showed but it would not pair with my winch for some reason. Mine is a Badlands ZXR 2500 so maybe there is some difference there. It has dual controls where you can run it with a manual cable too so it might be a different receiver 🤷♂️
Sorry it's giving you problems, you can check if it's the same by downloading their replacement parts list and comparing the Transmitter for the old and new models. The link is in the description
No worries, you're video was still helpful! I think I must have a different receiver though. Mine has both wired and wireless control options, and I just realized yours is wireless only, so there's definitely something different.
Was going to ask and see if anyone knows where I can get a remote for the wireless part of it
The link for Harbor Freight's parts order is in the description of this video. Actually the price is not bad and you get a new receiver as well (they don't sell the remote by itself - at least since the last time I bought one)
Do you know where I could find a replacement switch like the one that you reprogrammed? I’ve been looking and can’t find that exact one
My apologies to all for not responding sooner
The only way I know of to get a replacement remote is to contact Harbor Freight using the help number in the manual
I've never personally called them but have read many comments from people who have
Mines just turns off when I try that 😭
When did you buy it, the newer ones don't work the same
I tired to do this and while holding down i only got to 10 seconds before it stoped blinking...
How's the battery, and how long ago did you get the winch, they changed the remote again, it looks the same
@@mreinsmith good batteries, two years ago, it does everything the same as the video except it's only ten seconds before it stopped blinking and it I let go and held for 3 seconds and still nothing
By any chance do you have trouble with the buttons not working occasionally? I had one where I literally had to use a pencil (eraser side ) to get the button to hold (replaced that one since)
Oh, and did you stay close to the receiver (no insult intended, just checking the basics)
Where can you get a new switch ? That is the question.
Amazon.com
Same model remote does not blink slow or turn off when held for 20 seconds
Try pulling the batteries for a minute or 2
Mine flashes for the 20 seconds and then the light shuts off. Then I have to hold the power down again to turn it back on and it starts all over. Any ideas? I bought my wildcat and it came with the setup but the batteries were dead in the remote so I just replaced them and then got in the machine and turned the key to the on position and attempted this programming sitting in the driver seat. Thanks in advance for any help
The winch is a wildcat, but this is the remote that came with it?
In any case, make sure you are far away from the receiver and see if it does the same thing
Any luck?
Hey man, do you know if you can connect one remote to multiple winches?
Not really, one way to do it would be to use the same receiver for both, each receiver has its own unique frequency
The other way would be to reprogram it each time
Bummer, Mine will not do anything, I tried all of your suggestions, it just sits there and won't flash, Thanks tho.
I've been meaning to put up a video about this... Try taking the remote apart and use the buttons directly on the board (without the silicone pads interfering)
BTW, When you order a replacement Transmitter for $25 it comes with a new receiver as well, I just can't remember if shipping was free
Mine doesn't blink slow. Only fast why?
what is the model number on the back?
Same.
@@michaelgengo2490 I just returned it and swapped it out with the ZXR 2500 with a wired and wireless remote.
@@Cologne_Trooperdid that solve it. My remote flashes really fast and won't connect
@@NonRider yes
What is this particular remote called & from. Where can I purchase this?
Try this
www.harborfreight.com/parts
I can't find this remote anywhere. What's the name of the remote?
I know I'm kind of randomly asking but do anyone know a good website to stream new tv shows online ?
@Callen Nathanael I would suggest flixzone. You can find it by googling :)
@Grayson Gabriel Definitely, I've been watching on Flixzone for since march myself :D
@Grayson Gabriel Thanks, I went there and it seems to work :D I really appreciate it!!
@Callen Nathanael No problem :D
Why does my remote flash real fast instead of blinking
Low Battery maybe?
Question for
The group .. I’m switching to synthetic rope. The cable is 5/32
Could I use 1/4 synthetic or do I have to stick with 3/16th
My light flashes way faster and won't connect
I am pretty sure I figured out the fast flash problem, Ironically it started happening to mine shortly after you asked. It's the buttons, I took it appart and just used the board and it worked
I have the remote just like you have but mine won't blink 20 times it turns off ,so then what
How new is yours?
I'm sorry to say that as far as I can tell newer units are NOT Programmable, 3 blinks is all I get too
The reason I say that is because I had to replace one of mine with a new one from HF parts last year.
I found out that you can't get the remote by Itself, it only comes with a remote AND a reciever ($25 free ship)
So now the new one stopped working literally about 3 days ago and I did all kinds of research and testing with no joy
I'm willing to bet the remotes and receivers have a standard code now, because of all the problems people had programming them
I have another one on the way so we'll see if the remote works with both receivers
you can't program a remote for a winch unless it came with that specific winch its not blue tooth 😅
In this case Its just like a garage door opener, the receiver transmits it's frequency, the remote picks it up and matches it
I have 2 of them and I've switched them many times (mostly because I keep misplacing one of them 😁)
this don't work
Is it the same model controller?
@@mreinsmith yes
Were you able to get through the whole procedure or where did it fail
@@mreinsmithmine is same model but flashes way faster and will not connect
How long ago did you buy it?
Just spitballing here:
I'm wondering if they changed something in a newer version.
If you've had it longer than a year I would change the batteries, they don't last long (at least mine didn't)
Also the FCC ID on mine is WWWBLT001-T042, if yours is different that MAY indicate it's being made by a different manufacturer
Let me know what you get
