I find the simplest most effective approach is to simply remember the take back in not the shot it's preparing for the shot. And that all the focus should be on the forward momentum/attack into the ball. Slow smooth prep waiting for the right time to attack into the ball. Then lag and timing takes care of its self. This is ATP modern forehand high racquet head speed. Waiting waiting attack. Just like an over head but side on
One desperation technique of getting feel of racket lag would be putting butt cap through top part of the net and you can do the lag using the net. Also like to tell my clients to swing out to the netpost!
Hey, it’s me again (just switched from eastern to semi-western forehand grip and commented in a previous video). I kinda figured a similar way of swinging. How I try (still learning) to think of it is to make the racket tip swing like the infinity symbol (as a lying figure 8) which also bends around my body. So the slot position basically being the far right side of the infinity symbol. Does that make sense? I hope I’m clear enough (hahaha). Greetings from the Netherlands! 😉👋
Greetings Paul, sounds like you're on the right track! Infinity symbol is a great way to think of the swing path. Thanks for watching and ther feedback!
@@Playyourcourt Np. By the way, a day ago I realised a valuable (at least for myself) key point which makes the slot a natural process during the swing. So I'd describe my swing as follows as a righty: 1) turn the body in the unit turn with the racket head up, 2) continue with the backwards motion till behind the body with the racket head facing down, 3) keep the arm relaxed and loose, 4) pull the left shoulder backwards (THE breakthrough; speaking for myself) opening the shoulders and uncoiling the body, 5) the natural racket swing follows automatically (lag has been created because of steps 3 and 4 ... also because of a relaxed and loose arm, the slot that you guys are talking about comes naturally). Hope this also makes sense :P

Love it! Thanks for sharing coach
Centrifugal force, in to out swing path. Hence why hitting inside out strokes can help your overall stroke.
100%
Great video guys. I will use this on myself and my high school students. Thanks for all you guys do
You're very welcome, always happy to help!
