RIP Stan. Your voice on the TV on Sportsbeat was part of the soundtrack of my childhood. Your effectiveness and longevity in the space without ever becoming a shock jock hot take artist is something I've always admired greatly. Rest easy man. Love the Show.
Rest in peace, Stan. Thank you for making my childhood magical in the early 90's Penguins runs, you and Guy giving the recaps and commentary. I feel like I lost a great friend.
As a Houstonian SportsBeat and later "Savran on SportsBeat" was exactly what Stan described - my lifeline to my Steelers and Penguins. I still contend that it was the best sports show anywhere. Stan will be missed dearly, and I send my deepest sympathies to all who knew and loved him.
Rip to you Stan. You were and are a Pittsburgh institution. I've always loved hearing your views on sports here in the Burgh. And still to this day,I miss Sportsbeat.
RIP Stan Savran. Watching SportsBeat is some of the earliest memories I have of watching the Penguins and Pirates. He will be missed in this great city we call home!
if there was no sportsbeat, there would be no fsn pittsburgh. if there was no stan savran or guy junker, there would be no sportsbeat. God Bless You Stan and Guy, I as well got choked up. stan has inspired to be a sports analyst and to have my own sports show, but there will never be a Stan Savran again. Thank You Stan.
FSN and their ownership made a BIG mistake losing STAN SAVRAN! Stan Savran is a NATIONAL TALENT who prefers to stay in this DYING town. STAN IS THE ONLY SPORTSCASTER IN THE TRI STATE AREA. DAN

And now the radio show is gone, too. I am so depressed.
Rip
wow thats sad
Savran's still on at ROOT sports, much to my disappointment..
It was when they let Lange go that was a sad day for me.
FSN and their ownership made a BIG mistake losing STAN SAVRAN!

They should bring back Mike Lange, give him whatever he wants..
I thought most of the other personalities on FSN/ROOT sucked anyway.
