Ooooh this makes so much sense. I could not figure out how to use this thing with only the instructiosn provided in the kit. Even the app didn't have instructions on how to use, only how to assemble. You should add a link to this video directly in your app!

Can I use it to see the grain size of a steel sample, because for that I cant install it on the glass slide, and the LED light cant pass through it but it will reflect back.
Actually, I am trying to say can I use it as a metallurgical microscope instead of the biological microscope because the principle of light is different in both,; like in a metallurgical microscope, light reflects from a sample whereas in a biological microscope it transmits.
Cool little gadget! Maybe getting it for my little brother as a christmas present because he is more of a micro world explorer rather than me having this huge 10 inch telescope to explore space 😂

Should i take off auto focus from my phone ?

probably, though you may need to tinker around with optimal distances (like a telescope)

You're asking if the foldoscope can be used to create a compound microscope. The focal lengths of the eye piece and objective lenses in a compound microscope are quite different so you can't use the same lenses from the foldoscope to makes a compound microscope

When i buyed it i didnt get the glass to put the sample do i have to buy one?
can i use it to see bacteria? based on my experiences, the bacteria can be clearly seen using only 100X lens (1000x magnification) using immersion oil. bacteria look too smll when using 40x lens.
i would like to buy it if it can be used to see the bacteria. 😊
So much! See for yourself on our Microcosmos community website. Foldscope can be used to observe biological samples like bacteria, copepods, tardigrades, tetrahymena, diatoms, rotifers, nematodes, spider eggs, ants, vorticella, mites, daphnia...pretty much anything you can stick on a slide.

Both the deluxe kit and the basic classroom kit contain the same microscope and magnetic coupler! Regardless of which kit you buy you can use Foldscope with your phone.

Yes! Just make sure to wash inbetween uses!

Their is no requirement of stain for slides.

you can use transparent tape - but not the milky kind, it has to be very clear
