Wonderful scenery , I can't say anything except dropping some tears .. What I can see here is a simple life with no traffic stress. Furthermore is that I'm really shocked of tons and the quantity of Datsun cars patrolling the city!! I'm a Datsun guy collector and I'm fighting to get one from abroad.. We unfortunately didn't know at that time what a precious cars we got at that time. I spotted a 260c , 160j , 160 & 180b + the beautiful skylines .. What a waste , we didn't preserve any. 😭😭
This is such a great video. We moved to Abu Dhabi in 82 so I never saw it without the blue building built. It's great to see the Nihal Hotel my parents would go there to the Hide away for a drink once in a while. Also the Hilton just standing on it's own. How I miss the old middle east. Thanks for posting this. Would love to see the tourist area if you have any video's as its now one hugh monstrosity.
AD1978 Thanks I've just had a watch of it. I can't believe the Meridien is not even completed. We used to swim there when we were kids and the Navel base is still under construction. Thanks again.
@@AD-bm1nm The population at that time must be just over 100-150 K, hardly any cars on the road, looks like the city had more buildings then people, I remember reading about that
Wow! That brought back many memories of when we had a simpler life here. Thanks for posting this.

So is this Corniche road? The one which ultimately leads to Marina Mall. I was in Abu Dhabi, and have had good memories too.
Yes it is. Driving from Hilton hotel (next to Marina Mall) to Sheraton.

Sure this is not @ 78. So this is after 90
This is trully 1978. We left the UAE in 1986, long before the 90s
@@AD-bm1nm agree 100%....this is from the 75 to 80 period...
How was Dubai 1978? More developed then Abu Dhabi?
