Fantastic video by a committed group of Pros - interviewer and interviewees! Well done. It really captures the passion of those of us who call The River home.
Another great video Linda and the comments are from a great cast of characters some that grew up here and some some that found it and the river chose them to stay. We need more of the business leaders to bring their employment opportunities to this region. You can get everywhere from here. I do it every day. Great job your team did in putting these videos together.
As someone who's family has roots on the river that go back 150 years, and have been coming to the Islands for over 50 years, I lament the the McMansions being built all over the Islands and the incredible rise in property taxes that accompany them. The stewardship of the area is sadly succumbing to the pressure of the wealthy and the developers who have no regard for the river waterline, and feel that blasting away the rock and replacing it with phony lawns is an improvement.
My blog friend who lives in nearby Clayton referred me to this video, and I am just in awe of the natural beauty (although somehow that description seems to fall short!) of this incredible area! I live in the Midwest, a place not exactly known for gorgeous stretches of water. I am very afraid to fly, but I could almost pack up and hop a flight there right now!!! It's magnificent! I hope the land can be preserved without a lot more building. It would be a shame to waste what has been God-given.
Don't come here. It is extremely polluted and you can't swim in the river. It is an awful place. Stay away from this place, got to Toronto instead. Quebec Navy stay away.
Polluted? Iv lived on the river for 24 years and of, any inland body of water this is by far an exceptional an beautiful place with a lot of history and overall amazing things to see and offer. Last year when I was on the river on April 26th for the first time for the year the water was so clear and crisp you could see bottom even in the deepest of parts. Come to the Thousand Islands in Clayton NY you will truly enjoy yourself. I have also swam in the River my entire life as I grew up on it, and I have never encountered an issue with pollution or any health risks. You're just misinformed that's all.
Thank you so much. This is the work of a wonderful creative team.

Shame on you! It is not polluted, and I swim every summer. Maybe you write this because you want to keep our paradise to yourself!
